Bought a traditional chocolate birthday cake, and I hate to say, but it was one of the worst cakes I've ever had. No one even wanted to finish their slice, and we ended up tossing nearly all of it. The chocolate flavor tasted almost artificial, and there was a weird aftertaste. I might be willing to try some of their other items, but with so many other places to go for baked goods in the area, I probably won't be going back here. Came here for the first time today, after mixed reviews peaked my curiosity. A very large case of mixed varieties of treats, with only a single other customer in there. Already, not a good sign as they clearly wouldn't sell it all in one day, meaning that it had probably all been there for days. The customer service gave the vibe of "just pick something already," even from the very moment I walked in the door. When I asked the lady which cupcake was her favorite, I received a slight shrug and a monotone honest response that she doesn't eat anything at the bakery. I ended up buying the Oreo cupcake and an individual-sized key lime pie for my mother. I have a weakness for cupcakes, but found no redeeming qualities in this soggy, flavorless cake with an Oreo far past it's prime. As for the key lime pie, the filling was good, but the crust took up 60% of the pan and was not very good, nor was the whipped cream sitting on top. I love their eclairs. I've traveled to Europe and around the US and keep coming back for their eclairs. I read other reviews regarding their eclairs and scratch my head. I love the filling and the chocolate topping. The staff has always treated me right. It's why I keep going back. read more

Purchased a half sheet chocolate/vanilla cake for a baby shower. The design was custom, John and his designer welcomed the ideas I had for the cake and did a fine job delivering what we wanted. Everyone loved how it looked and how it tasted, and I loved the price - very reasonable for a delicious custom cake. I would definitely recommend Blackberry Bakery! read more

Thurs, Dec 20, 2012. Went to the bank in the morning and decided to go to Blackberry Bakery to purchase a blueberry muffin. When I got to work and cut the muffin in half, there were on 2 blueberries in the muffin beside the blueberries on top. You would think that when you spend $1.85 for a muffin there would be blueberries in the muffin!!!! It didn't even taste like a blueberry muffin. I went into the bakery for the first time on Sunday morning. I brought home two muffins. To my disappointment there was mold on one of the muffins when I pulled back the wrapper. Obviously it was NOT freshly baked and I will not be returning. read more

Blackberry Bakery deserves a Bronx "raspberry.'' I special ordered a custard pie for my husband, The crust was soggy and was stuck to the thin pan. I paid $14, which would have been fine with me, if it had been good. It was not. The custard pie at the near-by super market was just as good at way less the price. We were disappointed. read more

I have been going to this place for about 2 years now and I have to say that I was happy to see that the counter girl was no longer there last month!! When I came in to the store in late September she was SLEEPING with a blanket in the chairs in the front of the store!! So, when I came in she crawled out of her "bed" to serve me with her usual "charm" and was allready on her way back before the door was shut behind me. The owner must be crazy to employ this person to help his customers AND to let her sleep where people can see it is outragous! When I went in to pick up my Thanksgiving order last week good old Smiley was there to rudely as ever to package up my order to get me the heck out of there so she go back to bed I suppose, she must be moved to the back for the holiday... The pies and rolls I bought were really tasty and fresh,so go for the pastries and pretend that youre in new york for the service end of the expeience! read more

I recently called the bakery from out of state; I spoke with a man and told him what I wanted to order...He said it would be no problem what so ever. I told him my brother in law would be by to pick it up on Friday on his way home from work. I asked him if he would like me to pay now or call back on Thursday or Friday to make sure he had it made. He said which ever would be easier for me. I told him I would touch base on Friday to make sure everything was all set. When I called back today I was informed that the cake was not made because they were waiting to see if it was something i really wanted and to make sure I would actually call. I reminded him of our conversation as well as the fact that I gave him MY number in case he needed anything between now and then. He said he could still have it ready and I asked him by 5pm?? He said well no not by then...So much for making my expecting sister happy from a Far...Thank you Blackberry for RUINING the day!! read more
