Some of my favorites are the chorizo breakfast wrap, the roast beef panini, and their signature Italian wedding soup. My wife and I usually add a side trio to get some greens in as well, which is always a great complement to our meal. Service is straightforward. You order up at the counter, grab your number, and find a seat. Just a note that it can get busy on weekends and during peak lunch hours, so plan accordingly. Love it! While it's a casual spot, there is an elegant/upscale vibe to it. The service was great and I really enjoyed my food. I had the veggie breakfast sandwich, which was super yummy, especially with the tomato jam. I also tried the sweet potato and chicken salad and both were excellent. One of the seasonal drinks was a mango coconut matcha which actually surprised me in a really good way. Came with a friend for lunch on a Sunday afternoon around noon and was able to walk straight up to the register and order. You take a number, find a seat, and someone will bring you your order. I got the market side trio with the chicken salad, pesto pasta, and grilled corn quinoa. My friend got a matcha latte, Tuscan turkey sandwich, and BLT Caesar pasta. I have another favorite coffee shop in the area, so although blackberry has been on my radar, I haven't made the trip. After finally visiting, I'm not sure I would return. My latte was mediocre at best. It wasn't very flavorful, and it wasn't very coffee forward, so I wonder if they use less shots of espresso than is standard or less strong espresso. The thing that bothered me most though was that the barista swirled my drink in front of me, it splashed all over out of the top and sides of the lid, and instead of fixing it or apologizing (or even just acknowledging it!!!!), he proceeded to hand it to me and said "have a great day!" I walked over with my baby in tow and cleaned it up myself. It was SO odd to me. The space is bright, there are plenty of seats, and parking is easy. This spot has become one of my go-to places when I want to step out of my home office for a change of scenery--and get my car charged at the same time. It has been a while but came back here after having a very positive Yelp event. This time we had brunch so ordered a breakfast sandwich, chicken avocado sandwich, and the blackberry lemon scone. Both of the sandwiches were OK and a good size, but no stand out. The blackberry lemon scone is a really nice treat and goes very well with coffee. The cashier was super fast and got through a line that was almost out the door very quickly. The cafe itself is really clean and they have nice outdoor seating options. Food came out quickly. They also give back to the community as it looks like they gave an aaugust event where they are giving back. The layout is open, bright with much natural light and very clean. (No sticky tables like other coffee places I've worked in). The staff is patient, kind and helpful. This Blackberry Market location is in the same plaza as Activate in Oakbrook. If it weren't for this proximity, Blackberry Market wouldn't have crossed my radar. In fact, at first I thought it was a grocery store rather than a cafe based on the name. The interior is very well lit with an appealing contemporary brick decor. The place looked well-kept and clean and had a fair amount of people inside for a Monday afternoon at 2pm. We were greeted by a friendly cashier who took the time to explain their menu and drinks to us. I ended up opting for their mix & match combo with their Turkey, Apple, & Gouda sandwich plus their Blackberry Market salad. For my drink, I opted for the cold version of their seasonal drink Kyoto Fog (Japanese Hojicha green tea). The food was overall fine. The salad felt pretty fresh and while the sandwich was initially pretty dry, adding some mayo and mustard helped it out considerably. The Kyoto Fog drink was probably my favorite part of the meal. While my iced version didn't have as strong of the hojicha flavor probably b/c of the partial dilution of the ice, my wife ordered the hot version and it was very pronounced there. The prices are a bit on the steeper end for sandwiches and salads. I don't think I would return for food given the other options in the area, but would come back for coffee/tea. read more

I love me some blackberry market and I LOVE that they are opening up more locations. This was the first time I got to visit this location and it was wonderful. The staff who assisted was so kind and helpful, suggesting different pastries and making thoughtful conversation. I had an iced coffee and a brownie that had oreo pieces in it - a delightful CHOICE. I have had their pastries before and they do not disappoint, I don't think you can go wrong. I am particularly glad I chose the brownie as it was amazing. They also serve salads, sandwiches, coffee and other beverages, as well as have a salad/hot/cold bar, and other offerings. The seating area was also quite spacious with parts of it filled with sun and a back area without windows (a mix of both worlds). Love this new location and hope to be back soon! read more

I liked the cinnamon roll because you didn't need the frosting to taste the cinnamon - the bread part wasn't overly sweet but still tasted cinnamon-y. The frosting tasted like a butter frosting and also was cinnamon-y. The peppermint mocha actually tasted like peppermint without being too overpowering. It also wasn't overly sweet (like Starbucks). I hope they expand to more locations across the Chicagoland area - the northern suburbs would LOVE this place! read more

The food, atmosphere, and service were terrific. The wife and I stopped by for brunch and got two scones and drip coffee. We also ordered a Veggie Breakfast Stack, which was delicious. As soon as we got in, the cashier greeted us. We spent a few minutes trying to nail down what bakery item we would want, which was very difficult. We opted to get an additional item to try one of their breakfast items. We were given a number and provided mugs to get our drip coffee. A few minutes later, they brought over our food and silverware. Service was speedy, and the food was delicious. The scones were tougher on the outside, but the inside was delicious and perfect. I stopped by here after a workout with my husband. We ordered the breakfast wrap, requesting a substitution of chorizo for avocado, and a spiced latte (can't remember the full name). The wrap itself was decent - I really liked the potatoes and eggs inside, but the wrap itself was lukewarm, with some parts being cold. I think the avocado they added was the culprit, as it seemed chilled. The wrap also came with a side of salsa, which was ice cold and didn't pair well with the breakfast - it tasted more like marinara sauce than a typical salsa. As for the latte, it was way too sweet for my taste. On the positive side, there was plenty of seating, including some chairs by the windows and booths. I noticed people here working on their laptops, so it's a good spot if you need a place to get some work done. Blackberry Market was too good not to leave a review. I even visited a second time while I was in town so I could have more to rave about. My husband and I own a coffee business, so whenever we travel we look for good spots. We couldn't find any great-looking coffee roasters close to our hotel, but we saw some latte art pics from Blackberry and decided to give them a try since we also wanted breakfast. We were greeted immediately and given recommendations as we perused the menu, baked goods case, and grab-and-go cooler. I saw their seasonal menu included a blueberry basil house made syrup - a must try for me. I wanted my morning espresso though, so I was excited they were happy to make me a latte with that instead of the matcha (which I ended up trying the next day!); both drinks were delicious. Love how they use Intelligensia, a local coffee roaster. With markets or cafes like this, it's usually hard to get the food and the coffee right at the same time. Blackberry gets it done! You can tell they pay special attention to the quality of both, which is what makes them a whopping 5-stars from me (on top of the spacious, clean, colorful atmosphere!) The farmhouse breakfast is a great deal. Their homemade biscuits are fluffy with just the right amount of salt, perfectly balanced with their blackberry jam. I ordered one by itself on my second visit. The avocado toast was fresh and tasty, but I was glad I had the biscuit in addition to fill me up. We also tried some of their treats: Nutella bar, chocolate croissant, cinnamon bun, and chocolate chip cookie. All were good but my favorite was the Nutella bar which had a nice crunch to it and allowed for a convenient snack during our conference. This place deserves more attention! The employees at Blackberry Market exhibit a highly personable demeanor, willingly recommending their personal favorites and ensuring that all inquiries are adequately addressed. There is no soda dispenser and they only offer a limited selection of Coke products in cans. They do have dispensers for multiple iced teas and lemonade. Based on my experience, I will certainly be returning to Blackberry Market in the future. When it comes to the physical space, little has changed from its previous incarnation as Panera. Fortunately, the obtrusive walls and partitions that Panera was known for have been mercifully eliminated. And at Blackberry Market you aren't expected to clean and sort your trays when finished eating like at Panera, the employees do all that for you here. read more
