I needed to get my car inspection done and had a bright headlight that was out. Had trouble replacing myself due to the location of my car. Was having no luck finding somewhere that could help replace the bulb and was losing hope of getting the issue fixed that day. I googled auto repair shops near me and went to the closest with the highest ratings and ended up at Blackline Auto Care and I am so glad I did. Being in the service industry myself I tend to heavily focus on the service I receive when going to any establishment. Not only to me but to the numerous customers I saw him interacting with. This mechanics shop is the best shop in the metroplex. The techs there are incredibly knowledgeable and work incredibly fast! I feel so comfortable with them because they take the time to explain what's going on with my car in terms I can understand, and I know their quality of work is superior. I recommend every person I know to get work done on their car here. From a simple oil change to AC repair all the way up to rebuilding an engine. So my Acura needed spark plugs... this is my own novice intellect saying this because my mpg started to be like crap and it was sluggish...so the first thing that comes to my mind and the cheapest is change spark plugs and engine filter...and yes, I know nothing about cars. So I politely call the dealership and was quoted 80.00 per spark plug...only the spark plug!!!! Say huh? I've started to do my own nails, but I assure you I have not smelled enough nail paint fumes and acetone to go for something as insane as that!!! So I asked what kind of plugs were these, and if they were made of gold and he said, "No platinum". I researched spark plugs and from what I read, it stated iridium was better than platinum and at Autozone, a nice brand of Iridium plugs were at most 24.00. I was totally cool with that, but for 80.00 bucks a plug, I felt that not only should these things start up my car, they should be starting up my ass or something!!! WTF???!!!! So I called the brothers at Blackline and explained the situation to them. I had already purchased the plugs and the air filters and it they told me to come in. I did and it has been the best experience of my car mechanic life.... lol...and I will never step into a dealership again!! These guys are efficient, transparent, honest and they explained stuff like no else has...I mean, that I wasn't related to. In addition to the spark plugs, I asked questions about other items the dealership said are "issues"....one dealership says I need this, the other dealership says I need that....as a person with no mechanical knowledge, I dont know who to believe and even more who is telling the truth for the 2k they are trying to smother out of me!! I expressed my concerns to Romero and and he took the time to go one a test drive to investigate my issues and even took me in the shop and showed me that each person from the dealership was lying and showed me there was nothing wrong with the parts they were referring to....or that it simply wasnt bad enough to warrant fixing at this point....maybe much later. He could have easily said, "Yeah, they are right" and said, "but I can do it for....." These guys didn't do that! They are honest, upfront and will tell you what is wrong and still give you a way better price than anyone else and they even are cool with you bringing parts like I did. Other places would be like...we cant install parts that you bring in...it doesn't have a warranty..yadda, yadda...but the part you bring in sealed is the same part he just called autozone for 10 minutes after you agreed to his 50 % markup!! We all have to make a dollar...but these guys are doing it honestly and I will without any reservation recommend them. I'm going back for my timing belt and a motor mount and feel that quality work will be performed at a more than decent price!! Check them out..and dont be bothered about the front of the shop..its simple and that's all it needs to be in order to get your car fixed....if you care about the Starbucks machine that is able to differentiate between a latte and a macchiato...then go to the dealership and you'll pay 2x for that coffee in the long run. They have soda, a TV and they'll even drop you off at th he Starbucks if you wish!! I'm never leaving these guys!! read more

I contacted Blackline Auto for a quote on a front wheel bearing and hub assembly replacement. I spoke to Ramiro and the labor cost he quoted was reasonable compared to other places I had called. I happened to have my own part, I just needed install and labor. He offered to save me a little bit of money using a similar part they had in stock since they can purchase these things at cost. I decided to use my own part anyway, but points already for going above and beyond what needed to be done. I brought my car in same day, later that afternoon. The work took about 1.5 hours and my vehicle was back in tip top shape. A few things that make this place different than other auto repair places I have worked with: 1. Price. These guys are not here to gouge you on prices. We all gotta make a living and their cost of services is very fair. If anything they want to offer you a great deal to win your business and to keep you as a customer. 2. Excellent communication. They take the time to answer any question you have and explain everything they are doing. You will notice a lot of other yelp reviewers say this as well. 3. Transparency. Blackline Auto makes a real effort to be as transparent as possible so you know that you are getting exactly what you are paying for. After the work was done I asked if I could see the old wheel bearing hub. Ramiro was more than happy to walk me through the shop and show me the part they took out. It was great! I had to ask because my previous mechanic told me he had replaced my wheel bearing two years ago but it turns out he did not. Unfortunately, experiences like that make you distrust the service industry. I do not post up a lot of reviews on yelp but I just had to for this business. I was so impressed and honestly, this was a very pleasant experience. Don't just take my word for it. Take the time to read through all the reviews, even the ones that yelp has hidden and does not currently recommend. Everything folks are saying is absolutely true. Be confident that when you bring your car here, you will be taken care of by folks who know what they are doing. read more

I can't remember the guys name that is at the desk. But he's very understanding. I took my 2010 Malibu in because of a misfire but had no check engine light on as I have a OBD II reader in my car and it reads before the light comes one in many cases. They found a second misfire that my OBD II reader didn't catch and a small oil leak in my gaskets if I remember correctly. I was only able to get the misfire done not the oil leak. But will be in next month to get the leak done. I have lived in the area a year and wish I would have found them sooner. I'm hoping this is the last shop I have to use for my car. I'm a woman and feel because of that I get screwed over by many shops. But with Blackline I didn't feel that way. Thank you so much for understanding my situation and working with me. read more

These guys are awesome! They own and operate the shop themselves. They diagnosed my truck's problem on Monday, are normally closed on Tuesday, but had my truck fixed by Wednesday!
