Stay away! Will do faulty workmanship. I had this shop install a new alternator on 10/3/17. $455.77 Labor. On 1/16/18 I had to have the alternator they installed replaced. Machado charged me $455.77 labor again. 09/19/18 alternator goes out for the third time! This time I took my car to my dealership. During repair of failed alternator assembly found two brackets missing (one for the mounting alternator assembly and other for securing engine wiring harness) and 4 bolts located in the incorrect position. read more

I had a leak of sorts and didn't know what it was. Couldn't tell if it was transmission or coolant. But my car ran hot. Had gone to another auto shop and it seemed they never could fix the issue even after hundreds of dollars, and they said my thermostat looked like it was going out(sure). I went to Rich's shop, called ahead went in the same morning. No line no issue no crowd. Told him I needed a thermostat. Instead of agreeing and throwing it on. He opted to test it for $99 diagnostic fee in case it's not that. He said he would know shortly. I leave the car for a few hours and didn't hear anything back. Called since it was taking longer than i expected. He said he's still testing. It was approaching the end of the day and I was getting frustrated that it was taking so long. Rich called maybe 4-5 hours later(not long at all in hindsight) explaining the through testing that was done and all he found was a very small leak, but my car ran hot because the second coolant tank was empty! The previous auto shop never refilled it with coolant! (Precision Auto Tune, N Central Exp) He filled the car with coolant at no charge. Saved me hundreds!! He even came outside to show me how to take off my engine cover and add coolant and how to check it on my own. Told me what to look out for and to come back if/when I need to get tht small hole fixed. Thanks Rich! I will be returning for brakes soon. read more

There are three things that I judge an automotive repair business by that are crucial. Expertise, Communication and Honesty. Rich Machado of Machado's Auto Care has all three plus some! We're a two car family and MAC already has my truck's business, but we've been vacillating about our Honda Fit's service, having been taking it to the dealership service center since we purchased. Well, we finally jumped ship and for the better. Rats ate my battery cable! Don't laugh. I'm not kidding. Aside from the usual "Would you like to trade-in your vehicle?" we always get at the dealership, we are always bombarded afterwards with a useless "How'd We Do?" survey that only asks questions that provide the corporation with self enhancing promotional data. With Rich, it's "Let's see what we can do to fix this without breaking your pocketbook, but also keep your vehicle in as good as condition as possible." You all know about electrical harnesses and their costs, right? The automotive industry designs parts so that you can't get that crucial connector without purchasing an entire assembly! (Don't get me started!) Anyway, Rich is clever and resourceful. He fixes it for about the tenth of the cost I would have endured at the dealership and without all the large, corporate, insincere, touchy-feeliness from the service advisor, the sales associate and the psychic financial consultant.
