This is to recognize Robert McGullam for his great work yesterday. I had the most wonderful experience yesterday when I took my 2022 Mercedes Benz GLE 350 in for a front sensor replacement. Robert was fantastic with his diagnostic skills in evalation of my problem. This work at European Auto has been the best investment of my time and energy in a very long time. I have now decided to keep my Mercedes Benz instead of trading it in. The unnecessary beeping was driving me and my family crazy. Robert fixed it in less than an hour and I was on my way. Another reason I was so impressed was that he also found a front disc brake problem that another repair shop had not installed properly and potentially could have been an accident waiting to happen. My auto has been in this shop since mid October 2024. I never hear from the manager or auto repair representative. If I want to talk to him about when my auto will be ready, I have to call him. This is ridiculous. Prior to having the auto at this location for this business, the sister location on Tracy Street had my auto from August 1, 2024 until mid October when I went to pick up it would not start. They only "said they replaced the alternator". Did they, I do not know. They charged me $1,600.00 for this and the auto would not start. I left it for further repairs to get it started and they called me and wanted to bill me for charges to tow to Dallas European Auto in Plano, where it still remains since October 15, 2024. Ironically, I was researching European auto shops over the weekend just in case, not knowing that I would actually need one a few days later. I had hard water spots on the driver mirror of my 2 week old Audi & was not able to remove them. The detail guy at the dealership was not able to as well & informed me that the entire mirror would need to be replaced & I was quoted around $300 give/take depending on labor. Not under warranty. I spoke to Norm & was told to bring it in. I explained my situation & Norm starts prepping me like a boxer about to step in the ring for a fight with the dealership to be accountable since its a new car, (which I agree, but who enjoys that type of encounter) while Amir is working the phones to find a good deal for the mirror. Meanwhile, one of the techs comes in & very matter-of-factly states, "Its gone, I fixed it" & disappears back in the garage. We all go out & admire his handiwork & sure enough, its gone; what a huge relief! Great team - Norm is upfront & on the front line with you, while Amir is making sure you're getting the best deal & parts which ultimately results in great customer service. My battery ran low recently and when I popped the hood, I noticed that my Mercedes logo had been pried off and is missing. Ugh! It's minor but aggravating that now makes me wonder what else they are up to. This place has run down since Norm left and it's a shame. They don't keep schedules, my husband's vehicle was started on the 3rd day even though we had an appointment. I looked up this place for my boyfriend who drives an Audi, they treated him nicely when he comes in and are a bit transparent with his car, but they are a bit pricey. Don't come her unless your willing to spend a thousands on repairs. I took my car in, a Mustang, and they didn't want to even take a loot at it . It took them two weeks just to replace on battery. They told me it was best to sell it even though it had a brand new motor & just need some small repairs. They didn't even to quote me and said I should throw the car away. I took it to another car shop & they fixed my repairs under $900 This car shop only cares about the value of the car only "foreign" cars and to overprice clients that look like they have the money, as far as "normal cars" don't think to come near here. I have a 2008 Jaguar XK. Yesterday, Dallas European Auto replaced a hydraulic pump that allowed my convertible top to work again. Dealer cost was over $10,000 where as Dallas European Auto quoted a finished price less than 1/5 the dealer. Still expensive, but reasonable considering the replacement pump was a majority of the cost. What is important to know is that the replacement pump was rebuilt to a higher standard than original and is not a low-end knockoff part. I have been taking my German cars to Dallas European Auto for the last couple of years. I have consistently had good service, honest conversations, and fair pricing. Recently I took my 2015 Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet in for an oil change. A few weeks after the change, I noticed that the lowest "blade/rung" of the engine cover had inadvertently broken off during the service. I called the shop, and was worried that I was going to be left hanging with the repair bill(which exceeds $2K). I spoke to the owner Amir, and he was receptive, responsive, and gracious. He took care of the issue without giving me grief, and also fixed an A/C issue that had arisen. I can't speak highly enough of Amir and Dallas European Auto. Very honest, friendly, and helpful. I was referred here by a random lady at Whole Foods a few years ago when I had a Mazda. I took the car to City Garage, where they tried to "upsell" me with $1500 worth of unnecessary work. I finally found the card and have never regretted calling them if I have issues. Highly recommended! I am very ignorant to say the least when it comes to cars but I have definitely learned my lesson after my Mini Cooper broke down on me last week. I jumped on yelp to find someone that wouldn't try to upsell much because I have had auto shops rip me off in the past most likely because it's obvious I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to cars. I don't write many reviews, but this place deserves it. Until now I have always done my work at the Land Rover dealership, because I didn't know who else to trust. Yet my experience at the dealership was pretty impersonal, inconvenient, and of course expensive. My warranty was up anyway, so I decided to make a change. I saw the reviews on Yelp for Dallas European Auto and gave them a shot. The guys who work there are master certified techs, specialized in foreign cars and they knew more about my Land Rover than anyone I've ever talk to--and that includes the dealership! They gave me great, practical advice. They didn't do any services that didn't need to be done and they charged me around HALF of what the dealership wanted to charge me for brake pad service. Just came here for my first time today and I must say I am very impressed! I am incredibly picky when it comes to fixing my car (ML 350) so I have always gotten everything done at the dealership. I went to the Mercedes dealership yesterday to get 3 light bulbs replaced and they wanted me to pay $189 which I thought was incredibly ridiculous considering the most expensive part was $17. So I asked a friend who has Mercedes where he goes, and he recommended Dallas European Auto. I called them this morning, and Amir told me to just drop on by anytime - no appointment needed to just replace bulbs. I go there right away because I was worried about a long wait. Once I get there, Amir greets me, takes my keys, and 30 minutes later brings back 4 old bulbs. So not only did he get the three replaced that I asked him to, he checked all the bulbs in my car and found another bulb that needed replacement too. He showed me the bulbs too for visual confirmation. I was happy to be on my way out and asked where I can pay, and his exact words were "Don't worry about it, I had the bulbs laying around so it wasn't a big deal." I at least wanted to pay the cost because I am taking away from their inventory, but he wouldn't let me which I thought was incredibly nice. I took 4 bulbs and labor time away and walked away not paying a dime. My Service B is due soon and I am definitely taking my car here. I'll update this once I get that service done! I paid just under $300 for my Service B in September 2015. I have a MB C300. They are highly knowledgeable about the cars. I have called them a few times with questions to troubleshoot what might be wrong and they always take the time to explain what the issue might be over the phone.
