I was in Atlantic Beach on vacation and had a rental vehicle. I already had to trade it out once due to a check engine light. Then the tire pressure warning came on with the replacement vehicle. I was away from home - no tire pressure gauge or standard places to get air (isn't that part of the reason you rent a car - for the worry-free aspect??). I couldn't immediately find a gas vendor with air so I took a chance based on the reviews and stopped by City Tire. The reviews are true! The (manager / owner?) reassured me that air is hard to find in the area and it was good I stopped by, especially with a 450 mile drive ahead of me the next day. A young guy IMMEDIATELY offered to check it out. The tire with the low pressure (the vehicle does at least have the technology to pinpoint which tire is the issue!) was off in two minutes. He checked thoroughly for a nail/screw or leak, filled all to correct pressure and I was out of there in 15 mins! On top of that, they weren't going to charge me. The younger guy actually said he didn't do anything! I insisted on giving him some cash at least. Seriously, you never get old school service and integrity like this anywhere anymore. I am grateful to them (and feel terrible I didn't even get their names!). If you have any tire needs and you're anywhere close to Morehead City, go here!!

They replaced the struts and after the struts were replaced the front end started popping. I took it back 4 times and they told me to just drive it 500 to a 1000 miles to let the parts settle in. Now after the parts have "settled" in the popping is worse. Today they said the only way they would warranty out the struts, that totaled $3200 and included new tires, they would have to change the ball jounts for another $850. You would think that with all this front end work they would have seen this issue before replacing the struts or one of the other 4 times I had it in for the popping noise.

I told Timmy what was going on and he took the car for spin and told me that my issue was not exhaust but the windings on my front wheels. Not wanting anymore problems he gave me a quote and I came in the next morning to get the job done. While he was working on the car he callEd me to tell me that the brakes were shot as well. I gave him the ok to fix. After it was all said and done, the total cost was cheaper than what he had told me to begin with and that included the brakes! I can't say enough for the folks at Timmy's. He got the job done in about 3 hours and came in under budget! Kudos to Timmy's, they know how to do things right!

They charged an exorbitant amount to replace my alternator and battery (battery was 2 months old)…read moreand on top of that did not tighten the alternator enough. I was able to wiggle the alternator by hand, which caused the belt to slip and unstable voltage. This triggered multiple codes including O2 sensor heater codes. Once I tightened it myself, some of the codes went away. Still feeling with residual electrical problems from that. Bad business these guys. STAY AWAY!
