I couldn't have been farther off base in my assumption. The only similarity is the helpful staff working in the store, which gained this place an extra star. They greet patrons as they enter and offer to help them find things. Initially, I said I was going to browse around a little and pick up the things I needed. I ended up going back asking for help finding items I was looking for. The clerk working helped me look for the items I needed and then told me they are not actually an Ace Hardware Store anymore. They're an authorized Ace retailer, so they now sell some Ace products, but don't carry all normal items. She wasn't kidding! They don't carry most Ace products. No paint, no stain, etc. This place is mostly a feed store, I guess. I ended up going to Home Depot to get what I needed, they had it. I simply prefer to support the small businesses in a community. In this case, I bought two items at each place. I will try visiting another Ace hardware that's across town that the clerk recommended. I'm pretty sure I won't be back to this store.

Halls is a great hardware store. They have repeatedly had critical parts I needed when doing a…read moreproject that the big box stores don't carry. A few examples are SS wing nuts that hold my hurricane shutters closed, a 50 amp single pole breaker, sand bags, and they gave great variety in quality bird feeders. The garden center has been great at helping me get the right products to kill weeds.

The gentleman that works here was very helpful, walked us thru the whole process & told us to return the trailer with his 24/7 self serve return whenever we liked as he is closed on Sundays. We picked up the trailer, picked up the antique & returned the trailer with no issues. However, the return did not process bc the web site was down. Another causality of the Digital Matrix apocalypse. Oopsy. Digital doesn't work without power derp derp. We prefer his wonderful customer to customer personal service better anyway.
