I had my hair cut by abi and love it. I ended up coming here because I needed a haircut today but every salon I called was fully booked for the day and this place had good reviews as well as not needing appointments. Someone in one of the other reviews mentioned that his style is "Unconventional" and that's a great way to put it. He doesn't use the scissors and finger method I'm use to but he used a comb and a razor-like thing for most of my head then finished with scissors. At first I was like what's going on and was really nervous as the razor kind of looked like he's just scraping hair off. But then after he did that for awhile he combed out all the loose hair and then he blow dried it out and it was great! I have been to a LOT of more expensive places and the haircut I got was just comparable, though the treatment was very no-nonsense. Like if he needed to turn my head he'll kind of just turn it, not gently guide it like other barbers do. Also, he's not one for chatting. He did have a buddy who came in and they were talking to each other for awhile while he cut my hair which was honestly a little weird having two people talk over me, but that guy only stayed for like 5 minutes and then left. Other than that he didn't say much to me. If you're there to chat this is not the spot. My haircut probably took about half an hour or so. Abi is fast but it didn't feel like he was rushing, he's just fast and efficient with his movements. Also, don't expect the salon treatment here. The shop is a no frills kind of place, with tv's blaring up on the wall so you have something to watch while you wait. No appointments, strictly first come first served. I can imagine this being annoying if there's a lot of people ahead, but I got lucky and I was the next person to go so i only had to wait 10 minutes or so. There were several people waiting in the shop but I guess they were all waiting for the other guy Abdul. My haircut was 30 dollars and of course I added a tip. Have been going there for nearly a year. Came in opening hours the guy was late 40 min when asked what were the opening hours I got the stare, as if I am on his bad side now ! The brothers are mildly Racist , and speak with a bad attitude, the older 1 tries to play funny bully.. he is always on the cell phone while cutting my hair , and I saw him on the phone while cutting the hair of other people as well .. I told him privately: it would be more suitable for me if you did not speak on the phone for that long while cutting my hair .. he got in my face !!! Great haircuts and friendly service, but the wait time has become a dealbreaker for me. Usually it's only ~30 minutes, one time on a rainy day it was 10 or less, but I've also waited 2 hours one time and 3 hours another (until well past closing time). You might walk in and see 3 people lounging around and think it won't be that bad, but there could be a few people in line but out getting food so you never know. If you try calling to ask if the line is short they will tell you it is and just to come in but it could still be long. If you don't mind waiting that long it's a great place. read more

I showed up and waited for an hour while watching the gentleman cut 5 other people's hair - unbelievable attention to detail and such quick precision. It was pure entertainment. Then came mine turn and he used 3 different brushes to weed out the dry hairs before even starting. The cut was deliberate and accurate. I was hesitant on leaving a review at all because they are nice guys, brothers, the older gentleman cut my hair and beard. I specifically told him #6 on my beard and specific way to cut my hair, he cut my beard with a #4 or shorter, I was instantly in shock. Then off to my hair, well I told him how I comb my hair to the side and how to cut it on the sides and back. He was on his phone the entire time, he cut both sides of the top of my hair the same length and at the end combed my hair straight back, I paid him $50 + tip, just walked out. This place doesn't do appointments. Just come in and wait in line. Popular i guess from those who go, I hope the guy reads this review and understands how rude it is to be on your phone the entire time and even worse, not pay attention to detail. read more

I really like this place. I've been here twice now and while the wait is usually extremely long (even when they're not that busy) it's well worth it. Both times I've been there the older guy (I think his name is Abdul?) did my hair and both times it was my favorite cut I've ever gotten. The wait is long because they take their time and do a great job. No one has ever given me a fade as well as he has. I was initially nervous about the straight razor, but he knows how to use it. Been coming here for years, yeah the wait is long sometimes but well worth it. I've been here 30 minutes before closing once and Abdul and his brother both kept taking walk ins even after closing, that is customer service. I've had both guys cut my hair and they are both excellent. These guys are the only barber shop I have and will ever go to hands down after going to different shops around the area. Once you're in the chair, you're in and out quickly, with a good looking haircut. Reading other people's reviews with lower ratings disappoint me, not at the shop, but at the reviewer. These guys are family men and this is a family owned business ran by two brothers, if you don't like them talking on the phone with their family members in Morocco 8 hours ahead of us because that's the only chance they have to talk to them, or talking to one another because you're sitting in the chair and not making conversation, then you're the disrespectful one. These dudes are genuinely the nicest guys on the planet, and they provide you with a quality cut for the best price anywhere in LA or OC. I have finally found it! A new barbershop... After my 20 year barbershop was sold and turned in to fru-fru/New Age/whiskey bar/neo-riche establishment, I wandered around looking for a place I could get a decent haircut at a decent price with none of the unnecessary attachments that seem to be increasingly standard. This place is it. It is clean. It is staffed by people who know how to cut hair and know how to interpret what you want done with your hair. I am not overly talkative at a barbershop and I like a place that respects that. I found a common interest in soccer with the guy that worked on my hair and learned a lot about the sport and the enthusiasm for it in North Africa. Good cut. Good environment. No pretensions. Yep, seems like I found my new spot. Very straightforward and great price. $15 which is certainly cheaper than the $20+ places around the area. Just because this place doesn't look cool or hipster doesn't mean they don't do an amazing job. It is first come first serve, so no setting up appointments. I came on a Friday around 11:45am and thought it would not be busy. Nope, I was wrong. When I arrived there was a good amount of people waiting and I was told to come back at 2. What?! At first I was confused, and grumpy. But then I looked at the sign outside and it said they are closed from 1pm-2pm because they need to pray. I believe they are Muslim so they take that time to pray. Alright, I'll come back at 2. I ended up coming back around 3:30pm and I waited about 20 minutes until it was my turn. It seemed that there were a lot of regulars because the barber's interaction and body language with the customers were positive and friendly. I say interaction and body language because it does seem that English is not their first language. They largely speak Arabic to each other. It didn't bother me, and it shouldn't bother you.
