    Chimichurri Hummus
    Jeff P.

Excellent food and excellent service. We showed up during happy hour and were seated right away. I always appreciate when a restaurant brings water right away, and they had it ready to go. They even brought a side of lemons in case we wanted it. The waitress was very attentive to our needs and made sure to check up on anything we asked about. We started with the chimichurri hummus, which was full of flavor and had some great dipping options. It came with pita bread, celery, and rainbow carrots. For my entree I ordered the seasonal fruit salad, covered in a variety of berries, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I asked for the house special vinaigrette and some salmon on top. The salmon was well prepared and the greens and berries tasted fresh! It came with these little cheese cups on the side which were incredible! I definitely recommend stopping by if you're visiting Western Colorado!

Blade & Bone, STAT! Wow! We hit up B&B while we were in GJ and all I can say is this place is the real "steakhouse" deal and then some! The décor and ambiance was really nice! Lot's of booth seating and very cozy. Ok, so on to the food! I got the 8oz Filet Mignon and the hubs got the 12oz Ribeye. Both were mouth watering and cooked to perfection! So with each entree you get one sharable side...which is super cool! We got a Caesar Salad and the Twice-Baked Mash (fully loaded)...YUM! Our waitress, Ashely was very friendly and attentive as were the rest of the staff. Bottom line, I highly recommend checking out this place! You won't be disappointed!

    Half order of ribs.

When we walked in, we found out that the menu has been completely revamped. Steaks? Gone. Pork chops? Gone. The entrees have been reduced to ribs, salmon, and chicken. So, whatever the previous reviews said, forget it. A fair selection of apps (skip the chips and chili) and burgers. The ribs are baked, not smoked, with a mild sauce that had decent flavor. Salmon was acceptable. Entire experience is meh. I'm pretty sure you can do better.

We were in town for the weekend and wanted to eat a little nicer so sought out somewhere to get some steak! We went on a Saturday night for dinner without a reservation and were seated right away, which we were a little nervous about initially. I like that the sides are all shareable, so you can get a bunch for the table. We had the potatoes au gratin & the twice baked mashed potatoes-- both of which were SO good. Like yum I want a gallon of those to take home please. The entrees are ala carte so you don't get any sides with them automatically. We got a steak & salmon. The steak was supposed to be medium well (I know that's gross to lots of people lol) but it came out definitely well done. I'd request it cooked medium next time. The salmon was INCREDIBLE. A must order!!! I'd definitely visit again if I'm back in town.

    Gluten Free Crème Brûlée... yuuuuuummmmmmmmmm!!!
    Wendy S.

Gluten Free options + a helpful and knowledgeable server = a delightful experience! I ordered a 6 oz sirloin, asparagus, and French fries. So many delicious options on this menu with Gluten Free designations!!! I especially appreciated the subtle background (quiet) music being played. I could hear the music AND my own thoughts!!! Absolutely delightful!!! And... to top off this AMAZING culinary experience...they offered TWO gluten free desserts...the Crème Brûlée is OUT IF THIS WORLD!!!

Chicken, bacon, ranch wrap with sweet potato fries

The chicken bacon ranch wrap was delicious and the sweet potato fries. Drizzle with honey work delightful. Someone in our party got the wedge salad and it was wonderful. The mushroom soup was really good too. Our waiter Bradley was very attentive and friendly. He was knowledgeable about the food and helped us with ordering. Very nice restaurant. We will be back.

I wasn't sure what to expect because I had heard mixed reviews of this restaurant. I decided I had to try for myself. I was easily able to make a reservation on their website for my husband and I. We were immediately greeted and sat at our table by the friendly hostess. The restaurant looked nice, clean, and inviting. There's a good variety on the menu: Burgers, sandwiches, steak, and seafood. Some cocktails, not many options for wine by the glass but lots by the bottle. Our server brought us water, she let us know of their specials and took our order since we were ready. The Cherry Garcia spirit was a good sweet cocktail. Tasted just like the ice cream but in a delicious alcoholic drink! My husband had The Federalist, a Cabernet Sauvignon from central California. Our meals came with salad. The house-made croutons made a basic salad extra delicious. My husband likes jalapeños, so I ordered him a jalapeño tapa. He said it was really good with a sweet little sauce. Definitely better than your average jalapeño popper. My husband had the 12 oz ribeye cooked medium. I was iffy at first because it looked like a thin cut steak. I was pleasantly surprised by how perfectly cooked it was. Very tender and seasoned perfectly with an herby butter melted on top. We got truffle fries with it. They were not the best, but not bad enough to affect their 5 star rating. The fries were soggy, and smushed in this cup. Didn't taste very truffly. I ordered the seafood special, which was clams, mussels, shrimp, and salmon in a garlic herb broth served with some kind of bread. All the seafood was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The bread was yummy dipped in the broth. It was so good, we ate every bite of our meal and had no room for dessert. Which is a bummer because they had good dessert options that sounded delightful, especially the peach crème brûlée. We will for sure be back and make certain to leave room for dessert next time!

    Can can very under cooked.

A new eatery in Grand Junction I just had to experience. Surprisingly no wait on a Saturday night which was nice. The ambiance was very nice with Ample seating with many booth and table options available. Indoor and outdoor is available. I loved the bacon wrapped tiger shrimp as an appetizer. I ordered the Can Can pork chop but it came very under cooked. After asking that it be reheated it took about 15 minutes to get it back. The ceaser salad was also quite bland. I thought it was supposed to have a dressing of some type? Maybe the issues with improper cooking and salad dressing will be resolved soon. The table next to us apparently has a very under cooked steak arrive at their table and they also had to send it back for a redo.

The menu has a fair amount of interesting options but knowing what I know now they probably sound more interesting than they taste. We grabbed the tuna melt & the turkey/hummus/avocado wrap. The former was, again, okay. I'm not entirely sure there was cheese on it and if there were it certainly wasn't giving "melt". The tuna itself I was happy to find there wasn't too much mayo, maybe the best part of the sandwich. And the filling was plentiful with a nicely toasted bread. The wrap felt like something I could've gotten in a rest stop for half the price and would not order again. We also grabbed potato salad which I would not advise doing again. The prices for the sandwiches are fine, but the prices for the drinks are astronomical. We ordered maybe ten minutes in advance and it was ready by the time we got there, which was nice because it seemed that the lunch rush had started and the one person behind the counter seemed a bit stressed by the influx of customers.

The avocado was fresh, bacon was good, and the condiment ratio was just right. I took the rest to go, which I was happy about. Glad I had lunch here.

I could mention several criticisms of recent managerial decisions, but I'll just limit it to one. The "American Breakfast" has disappeared, replaced by an a la carte ordering model. I assume this reflects price creep and the reality that the market will not support a $20 counter-service breakfast (especially one that prompts for pre-tipping) when a comparable $12 option is available across the street at a full-service restaurant. Combined with long wait times and lukewarm food, caused by either amateurs in the kitchen or lackadaisical food delivery by the counter-staff, Cafe Sol has regretfully moved to my "occasionally OK" list.

A little thicker crust on that (compared to thinner on pizza) with what tasted like olive oil on the crust, Italian seasoning and lots of gooey cheese. Thinly sliced jalapeños gave it great taste with just a hint of spice. The pepperoni pizza was flavorful with the crust having a good chew. When he pulled up to PizzAmore, I thought he'd lost his mind. However! He'd learned that they do have some vegan cheese available. Since I dearly like breathing, and my lungs do not appreciate cheese or dairy products, this was quite a lovely surprise. Don't get me wrong, I do not love most vegan cheeses at all. But to find a pizza place that was inclusive for my dietary needs? That was amazing and worth an additional star just for that. For weeks of our RV journey, I've been craving a Hawaiian pizza. But I didn't have any kind of a good vegan mozzarella. so finding a restaurant with the palatable, vegan mozzarella, was a lovely surprise. The pizza itself was quite tasty. It was very well cooked, and even the crust had a good flavor. Our total for 2 personal pizzas and two drinks was $38 if I remember correctly. However, my husband did not love his veggie pizza. We both expected it to have a lot more vegetables on it. At the time that we were leaving the young man serving was making a veggie pizza that had a lot of veggies! So I think maybe we ordered incorrectly. Before leaving, I did talk to the owner about buying really excellent vegan cheese from rebelcheese.com. They just came out with their mozzarella, and I ordered two as they came with other cheeses, and I am so happy! It taste like real mozzarella! Unfortunately, they don't make the same cheese consistently. They have quite the rotation. But the PizzAmore pizza with that would be mind blowingly delicious!! But I would absolutely go back to this family run business. Truly favorable pizza with vegan cheese, which was quite the surprise!
