The housing units across the street had contracted Blade Runners for snow removal to clear thief street but Blade Runners shoved all the snow on our side of the street and blocked our driveway. I talked to the driver but he decided to bring more snow and completely block us. I now have to hire a company to clear the driveway but will bill the HOA. This shows the degree of unprofessionalism among the staff and drivers of Blade Runners company. I talked to the HOA representative of the building across the street and she also had complains about their servise as they had blocked her and a few other residents too. Don't be fooled. These landscapers are about the same as any other and the premium prices you pay probably are for the better insurance that pays for the damage they do. A word of warning, read the contract closely and question wording and don't get caught up in the wiz bang of technology of scheduling. The schedule doesn't work. Be aware, whenever Bladerunner doesn't want to do something they will say that's not what's in the contract. I actually had some yahoo tell me that he didn't have to pick up the fallen branches because the contract said the branches had to be between 1/2 inch and 1 inch diameter. The guy measured and walked away. In the case of landscapers you really don't get what you pay for. They are all about the same, some just have better insurance. read more

The people that work for this company are horrible. Seriously, hire the nine year old down the street. He will likely do a much better job. After these people neglected to do their job, I did it myself only to have them actually shovel all of the leaves and dead plants back into my garden and continue to do so after I asked them not to. read more

The company's workers did damage to my vehicle with their large riding lawn mower. When I contacted them about it they came out to re-construct the scene with one of their mowers. It was obvious that their mower did the damage - the mover matched up perfectly with the dent. However, they now claim that they are not responsible for this damage. The Home Owner's Association where I live selected this company, so I have no choice. If I had a choice, it would NOT be Blade Runners. read more

Negative stars. Our HOA hired them to work on the common area, and they were specifically told to stay off our personal property. We placed signs and confronted them several times in person. They ignored all of this. Our next step is to notify law enforcement for trespassing as several calls and emails to this company's management have also been ignored. They are spraying toxic pesticide while children are playing and then do not even post signs indicating where they've sprayed. They've also shown up on at least two occasions without warning. Oh and they're all wearing N95 masks (during a pandemic) but claiming this stuff is not a cancer causing chemical (it's Roundup). I appreciate that their workers are protected, but why are they using these masks for a completely non-essential thing in April 2020. They are completely unprofessional and their actual gardening is subpar, at best. Find yourself an ethical, law-abiding, effective competitor (we liked Altavista, FWIW) read more

If I could give zero stars for this "company", I would.TERRIBLE customer service. I had sent out a request for quote for the company I work for, tried phoning a few times, no one ever answered, nor returned my calls (yes, I left voicemails). After over a week of trying to get ahold of them, I thought I would try them one more time before I gave up. They answered, and it was the WORST experience I had ever had. I had to ask if I was speaking to bladerunners, as the guy answered the phone with just a "hi". Then, when I proceeded to explain who I was, what I was looking for etc.. he cut me off mid sentence and said, and I quote " ya, I don't think I would want anything to do with a company like that, so just take me off your fucking list". First off, what the fuck? Who talks to a customer like that? Secondly, the company I work for, has alot of "sister names", so the company that I told him I worked for, is a company that no one really even knows exist because they only time we use that name is for billing purposes. So, a company like what? How can you judge a company that you have never even heard of? Then, he proceeded to assume a few more things, and when I tried to correct him, he again, cut me off and told he didn't care what I had to say. What kind of company do you run if you're willing to turn down THOUSANDS of dollars ( I wanted a quote for supply and install on 900 trees and shrubs), just under the assumption that you don't like a company that you know absolutely nothing about? I am so grateful that he was an asshole from the start, because I wouldn't suggest his business to my worst enemy. If anyone is thinking of using them, I would suggest you look elsewhere. I am sure you can find a company that cares about their customers, or potential customers and doesn't talk to you like your the dirt on the bottom of their shoes. I don't yelp much but I when I get excellent service, pricing and follow-up, it needs to be noted. I have lived in several communities over the last ten years where Blade Runners does the maintenance work. Always, their crews are fast, efficient and careful. I can't speak to the cost for the HOA service but I can to their pricing for landscape work at my home and no one can touch them. I have had trees removed, I had flower beds installed, retaining walls built and all have been the lowest cost and the best quality. I did have an issue where (possibly) a limb from one of the trees they removed fell on my neighbors shed. Neighbor complained to me and within 24 hours, BL's manager had solved the issue by repairing the shed, no questions asked. I have interfaced with most all of Blade Runner's staff and have had nothing but professional, courteous and pleasant encounters. I would recommend Blade Runners to anyone who needs a one time cutting or a major contract. They do it all and they do it well. read more

Wow, another year that they trimmed hostas that were just about to bloom, not forgetting the potted pansies! Every year and they react in the same way to this complaint as other reviewers have stated; misdirection, obfusaction and denial. These people are experts at denying! My hostas were fine when I left at 7:00am and when I came back to weed wackers and blowers my plants had been bizarrely trimmed. An area that had no grass just hostas and mulch surrounding had been wacked. I called the company and their first response was a well rehearsed "we don't really know what happened." I live in a townhouse and the association hires these people, otherwise I would never be use this company. Bizarre service....who trims perennial plants like this? Avoid if you can! read more

Blade Runners failed spectacularly in removing any of the snow from our townhouse community in Arlington. They failed to shovel walkways as contracted, so we were forced to do it ourselves. Late Sunday night they finally sent a Ford F150 pickup to plow more than 2 feet of snow. The truck couldn't push the snow out of the way, so it just kept driving over it to pack it down. The truck did manage to block in my neighbors and me behind 2-6 foot walls of snow. We have been digging out all day, and are still barely making a dent due to the packed down snow. They still have yet to respond to multiple requests from our management company and neighbors to send more trucks to help. Cannot recommend them for snow removal given that they had a week to prepare for this event, and were still woefully unprepared. read more

I have used Blade Runners for both my HOA and a commercial property I own for several years now. If I wasn't 100% satisfied with their work, I would not have renewed their contract several time. They are responsive to our needs, competitively priced and do a fantastic job. I also run a small charity that owns a home for orphaned girls and we had a large tree come down in the yard during one of the storms last fall. I would not recommend this business to anyone-have used them for several years and they consistently miss us for mowing, weeding, whatever. Customer service is horrendous and have actually had unpleasant conversations with the owner. We hired Blade Runners to Landscape our front yard, and alleviate a flooding problem we were having in our basement. I can only say they did a fantastic job. They installed a drainage system that takes all the rain water away from the house and have solved our flooding problem. This was an issue we had been trying to fix for the last 10 years since we bought the house. None of the other contractors we hired over the years were able to do it. In addition, they built a beautiful stack wall and garden that really dresses up our house. We gtet comments from the neighbors all the time. I send them all to Blade Runners. Blade Runners does the landscaping for my HOA. The work they perform is substandard. I have asked them to remove debris from my yard after they mow so the yard looks well landscaped. Instead, they mow, do not pickup debris or mulch grass or leaves. My yard is always a mess after they cut. The owner tells me that because I live next to a common area ( end unit townhouse) his only responsibility to pickup debris or leaves is when the leaf removal is scheduled. He further tells me, although I am paying for his service through my HOA, I should hire my own company if I am not satisfied with his companies' work. This is a terrible company, with poor ownership and management. I simply asked him to have his staff blow the debris out of my yard, all within their capabilities as they blow debris from the curbs and other areas adjacent to my yard. Looks like " no" is an easier answer than customer satisfaction. Owns star is too high of a rating. read more
