I've seen Luis, a naturopath, several times when I wasn't feeling well. His methods are unconventional but the results are spot on. His wife has also given me a sinus treatment because I am prone to getting sinus infections. Luis charges $50 for his evaluation. I don't remember what I was charged for the sinus treatment but it was also nominal. Their supplements, however, are very expensive but high quality. If you're open to trying non traditional medical methods, I recommend Luis. read more

Love this place. The staff and owners are so kind and know. I went in very sick. I've seen so many eastern and western medical dr' s and either get a clean bill of health with all my tests, so they can never tell me what's wrong or they each tell me different things are wrongs and give me a bunch of herbs or medicine or supplements and I'm still dealing with the same health issues. The kinesiology dr was able to identify my issues immediately and gave me suggestions for what I needed. Juts in one week I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference in my energy and issues subsiding. We went to Blaine's at the recommendation of a long time customer of theirs who swore by Luis' abilities to diagnose and treat ailments. First of all, I am still appalled at how he does it just by touching your arm. My mother and I visited him, not knowing what to expect. Let me tell you! He's is the real deal. He prescribed herbal meds that have helped me with what he found. What's more impressive is that he told my mother that she has lumps in her breast but they weren't cancerous. Fast forward to a month later, and her annual mammogram showed lumps. Doctors immediately started speculating, which made her fearful, and required further biopsies to determine what they were. Part of me was scared as well, for her, I kept reminding myself about what Luis had said. Sure enough, I obsessed showed that the lumps were not cancerous. Not sure what the guy who brought his daughter in is talking about in his review. How was he supposed to know she's a vegan unless you tell him. Most issues start in the gut so that's why he asked. He asked me similar questions even though I have a really clean diet. That said, after having a horrible reaction to meds from a podiatrist that caused me to lose my taste (I wasn't even notified there might be any reactions at all) I went on his herbal option for the same issue. Luis quickly did some kineseology (sp?) and recommended a couple of products I had my doubts would make any difference. I am not a crunchy granola type who only believes in organic food although health problems have forced me to be a little more careful about what I eat. I was visiting CA and stayed in a hotel nearby. While walking to the beach, I passed Blaine's Nutrition and felt compelled to visit. It didn't really look like a health food store and there seemed to be lots of information filling up the glass exterior. I went inside, walked around and was greeted cheerfully. I was getting the layout of the place, as I didn't see lots of food there, but lots of medicines. Once I got the inkling to ask questions I was engaged into a conversation about sugar and how addictive it is to out bodies. Once I explained my foot ailment (inflammation, basically) I was schooled that perhaps my diet had something to do with it. Well, it does, I boasted, and I eat pretty much organic now and no wheat... or 92% gluten free. I was asked about my sugar intake, as I had come in asking for a "natural" ginger chew to which I've been addicted of late. To make a long story short, the owners (I want to say Raul and Eva, but I'm terrible with names) are a fountain of information. He actually performed a couple of interesting quick experiments to show how ones proclivity to eat sweets can be damped by taking a small taste of an organic compound that makes sugar taste like YUCK!!! I talked at length to them on several occasions and included them in my visits to the beach and each time I came away with more information. They're not on the "tough sell," rather they explain in empirical language (they take several dozen hours worth of courses in homeopathy each year (like 80 hours -- and they love it because they like to learn). Raul (as I call him) is a homeopathic doctor who does consults over the phone for a reasonable rate, but your best bet is to visit the store when it's not busy and talk to him. They really care about people and are fascinated by each individual story. I'll be sending many people their way. If you think homeopathy is for Quacks, this couple will dispel that notion and have you eating better despite your wishes!!! read more

This store is like a diamond in the rough. Hidden away and not very noticeable from the street but trust me it carries a lot of products. Louis Ramos the owner is amazing and really knows his stuff. I go in there anytime I have a health issue. He muscle tests me explains everything and suggests some kind of herb for me to take and I feel better in a few days. Luis is like an encyclopedia, not just for herbs but also for health remedies. This is my go to place to get help with any condition that I may have. I have also consulted with him about others who are not getting the results that they seek from Western medicine. I am a medical doctor (M.D.) and I can say that I trust his assessments, methodologies and recommendations. He does muscle testing (kinesthesiology) to assess where the body is weak and to determine which supplements and dosages the body responds to, in order to determine what your body needs and how much to take. If you are interested in knowing what supplements your body might need, this is the place to go. If you want to know if a supplement that you are taking is effective for your body, go there and have it tested.
