Inconsistent quality. Sometimes it's delicious, sometimes it's just a dry burger. They frequently get orders wrong--more frequently than normal. Also, the drive through is slow. I don't just mean slow. I mean so slow it's almost stunning. I have no idea why it's as slow as it is, but I've waited as long as 1/2 hr in the drive through before. If you decide to take a chance on Blake's you probably want to go in. read more

I arrived at 6am to purchase a breakfast burrito, I had occasionally stopped in near opening time for a burrito and had expectations based on that prior experience. There was a worker and the manager on this Saturday morning. I was the only person in the restaurant and was not greeted or acknowledged as I stepped up to the counter. The manager finally stopped his work and took my order, a sausage burrito. I noticed that all the ingredients for the burrito were sitting in different pans apparently fully cooked. To my great displeasure, the employee proceeded to assemble my burrito from the various pans. The grill for cooking eggs was completely empty and not in use. I commented to the manager that I expected eggs freshly cooked and that Blakes is running a television ad showing a person cracking and cooking eggs fresh for burritos. He (Tomas) gave me a snide comment about their need for speed in making the food so customers don't "get pissed" for waiting. As I anticipated, the burrito was cold and the cheese was not melted. The only item heated during preparation was the tortilla. The manager's attitude and treatment of me was terrible. The food was not what I have eaten in times past. Having been a customer for many years, I have concluded that after the business changed hands a few years ago, prices went up and food quality has declined to where I would no longer purchase a burrito at this Santa Fe (Rodeo Road) location. read more

Overall, for my first time eating here, I enjoyed the food. I had a burger with bacon and seasoned fries. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the burger was cooked to medium (which I like) but if someone was unaware to how they cook burgers they may not like the cook temp. It's so frustrating that this place has been here approximately 4 or 5 years and they still can't get an order right more often than not your order is not right whether it's missing cheese or they didn't give you the right french fries I'm from New Mexico I like to support the home team hometown restaurants but the reason why this place is almost always empty. We visited today 4-28-24 and had the most outstanding customer service from the speedway location. Food was amazing and delicious. Gino was out cashier and was very helpful and friendly. And the manager Adejia was also very polite and friendly. Asking if we needed anything to throw away and saying goodbye to all the customers. The store was very clean and to the environment was relaxing and calm. To the regional manager plz give Gino and Adejia kiddos for their outstanding customer service. We had Blake's Lotaburger a year ago and it was really good. Today we ordered again because we are tired of the same stuff on the East side. My wife's Lotaburger was way overcooked and the bun was very dry. My Carne Adovada burrito ended up in the trash. It's probably the saltiest thing I've ever had and greasy. I think there *might* have been a pirce of egg in there. We will never be having Blake's again. The one star is because, well, there's no half star option, and the onion rings are really good. read more

My husband and I went through the drive through and Devlyn was very rude. Once we got our breakfast burritos my husbands was very warm as it looked freshly made. My burrito on the other hand was cold. I went inside and asked if a new burrito could be freshly made as the company prides themselves on quality food. I spoke with the manager on duty at the time Amethin who gave horrible customer service afterwards. She asked me to open my burrito and stabbed the burrito with a thermometer and said "it's 110 degrees sweety". I simply asked again if I could have a fresh one like my husbands. She then said I need to throw the old burrito away and rolled her eyes. At that point I didn't feel comfortable with the employees making my food so I asked for a refund for my burrito. I've eaten at Blake's almost every morning for breakfast and have never received such nasty customer service. read more

I have driven PAST Blake's in Deming, NM on my way out of Hatch so many times and always thought to myself, "Huh, I really should try them out." But I never do because I just want to get home to Tucson and to be honest, 9 times out of 10 I just put a Sparky's green chile cheeseburger in my belly so I wasn't hungry. When Blake's came to Tucson, I was really excited!!! Don't believe the hype. The green chile cheeseburger at Blake's is a mediocre burger overall with the saving grace being the green chile. The green chile is delicious but not very hot, at least for my taste but that's not where I find fault with this burger. The actual burger is greasy and just a whatever burger. Mine was thrown together so sloppily that I had more onions and tomatoes off the bun than on it. I literally had to put my burger back together before I could eat it. And then the grease started dripping off my hands. Honestly, I would compare the "burger" part of my sandwich to any old fast food place but priced much higher. We also had seasoned fries which were good and onion rings which were not. The size of the order of onion rings for the price was NOT a bargain at all. So I'm glad I finally tried Blake's but I really don't think I'll be back. Especially when the green chile double cheeseburger I had at Whataburger was actually better but then again, my judgement on that one may have been clouded by a hangover. read more

I went to Blake's for a breakfast burrito the other day because my kitchen at home is currently out of order. I got a "classic" breakfast burrito and a coffee. Every aspect of it was horrible. The coffee was disgusting, and the burrito could almost not even be called a burrito. It was more like a tortilla that had been folded over a bunch of times, and someone accidentally dropped some egg and dry freezer hashbrowns in here and there. I read on the menu that every breakfast burrito comes with red or green chiles (or maybe red or green chili sauce), but mine had neither. It was like eating cardboard. Despite being really hungry, I could only force half of it on myself before giving up. I know breakfast isn't Blake's specialty, and I know I only paid 5.42, but what they served me today was insulting. They just should not do this to people, and charge money for it. But the worst of it all is that they can't seem to add enough chili. Bone dry burritos are horrible. The bun was excessively to large and it was not fresh it was hard, crumbled So I ate lots of bread and it just didn't make the cut. I will not be getting another one in Tucson. I've been to this Blake's location 3 separate times and every time I've been there at night. It was also the same night crew each time I have gotten great service. Food was fresh each time and staff was very friendly! I'm from New Mexico myself so it makes me happy known that they are representing the burgers well! I'm only giving Blake's two stars because I thought the fries were pretty good. Everything else was either not good at all, or severely substandard. First off, the restaurant itself was filthy. For all the nice facade and decorations they built in the place, they should be trying to keep it at least moderately upkept and clean. But, not so much. There wasn't a single clean table, the floors had food and drink spills, the soda area was horrendous, the garbage can areas were disgusting, all the windows had smears as did the sneeze guard by the register, etc. Does no one clean here at all??? So ok, we go to order. The guy taking our order clearly did not want to be there. Which is fine by me, but at least try to take my order accurately. So to go with his poor attitude, we got wrong food. Ok, they remade it, but demanded the wrong food back before they would. I guess they wanted to eat what I already chewed into? Or something? It was a weird fixation on partially eaten food. Then there's the food itself. The burger clearly wasn't fresh. It was all dried out and gross. The edges were burned. The bun was dry. The toppings were thrown on like no one cared if they actually were even on the sandwich. All of our sandwiches were exactly the same. Just really "blah." But like I already mentioned, the fries were pretty good. They're a little thicker cut than normal fries, and they were seasoned pretty well. I like 'em. Then there's the fact that the restaurant rations ice, napkins, and ketchup. Which is inappropriate and totally weird for a fast food place. I shouldn't have to worry about getting any of those things in the middle of my meal, or worry about being reprimanded because I want two packs of ketchup instead of one. There wasn't a single napkin dispenser to be found, which is completely bizarre, and a kinda big deal when we're talking about eating. Unless you're totally uncouth and don't mind not wiping your hands after eating a burger and fries with them. Seriously though, who makes decisions like this in a restaurant??? My husband insisted I mention that the green chile was spicy and good. Overall, I would never return to Blake's or recommend them to anyone. But please, do make your own decision. While the food is cheap, it is extremely poor quality. I was given a burger that had rotten lettuce, old onions, and had a horrible stench. The 2 dollar fries were a very small envelope of about 10 singular, generic fries, an utter disappointment. The restaurant environment is almost as sad as the food, with unenthusiastic people slinging previously frozen meat in the back. Please go to in n out instead of this place and you'll be satisfied. I can confirm if the awful stench of the burger- it reminded me of a soiled diaper rubbed onto a vultures acne covered backside. My burrito, while decent, had crunchy, stale hash brown pieces in it, unsalted and bland as Mitt Romney's birthday party. I found that I after having a new building and barely open , grease stains all over the sidewalk outside near the kitchen ....then inside I ordered a lotta burger with cheese and hatch chili and well done Fries. I received a well done burger no cheese and floppy fries. I asked for crispy fries so they happily told me they would make me a new order. Great I said. Then they gave away my fries twice through their drive through. Finally 20 minutes later I got the fries but now I had a overcomes cheese burger with no cheese and stone cold. I've driven past this place a lot and always wanted to stop by and try it out, so I drove thru today. I ordered the Lotaburger - no onion, seasoned fries, and a medium root beer. Cost was $7.01 which I think is ok for a burger meal. The fries were awful. They were cold and hard. Not hard as in crispy, hard as in old and stale. My request to hold the onions was ignored. I opened the wrapping to find a very generous portion of raw white onion rings stating at me. Fortunately they were not chopped so they were easy to remove, but that's not the point. After I removed the onion the burger was fine. Nothing special but not bad either. The root beer was fine. Hopefully if you visit Blake's Lottaburger on Speedway you will arrive when a fresh batch of fries is available and the staff will pay attention if you want them to leave something off your burger. Ok I agree with most of these posts. I went on a Sunday morning before church got out. Parking lot small but found a slot. All of the tables were full but only one person in like. It was before 11 o'clock so they were still serving breakfast. To my surprise they still served burgers and not just breakfast menu (pay attention Mickey D's). I ordered the lottaburger combo (gotta try their signature item right). It took forever to get my food and was not just me. Everyone was waiting. By the time I got my food a high top opened up. The fries were hot and salty. The burger was boring! Very disappointing. The staff friendly and helpful. I may try again in a couple of months to see if they can fix the issues. I don't wish ill on most new businesses ventures (God knows we need businesses coming to Tucson and not LEAVING - hold city leadership at fault). But I fear for their long term future here. read more
