This past weekend, we collaborated on a birthday party in Redwood City. From the first phone call…read moreto the final goodbye, Andrea has been one of the kindest people we have ever worked with. She makes you feel like you have known her for years. Clear and concise with what she wants, prompt responses, and a whole lot of fun. But after seeing her the event come to life, it was like we were transported into another universe. She has vision and drive. Hopefully this will not be the last time we work together!

If you're looking for a planner who brings not only a vision to life but infuses it with soul,…read moreheart, precision, and grace--look no further than Andrea of Mia Emma Love Events. I recently had the absolute pleasure of working alongside Andrea for an extravagant, Wicked-themed birthday celebration at the Grand Bay Hotel in San Francisco. As a DJ, I've been part of my fair share of complex productions--but this event? This one had layers. We're talking immersive design, multiple performances, theatrical moments, choreographed timing, lighting cues, and the kind of attention to detail that would make Broadway stage managers sweat. And yet--through every twist, change, last-minute curveball, and behind-the-scenes chaos--Andrea stayed calm, composed, and genuinely joyful. That smile never left her face. It wasn't just impressive; it was inspiring. What struck me most was Andrea's emotional intelligence and natural leadership. She wasn't just checking off a list--she was reading the room, checking in on vendors, comforting the family, and still had the foresight to ensure every beat of the evening landed with intention. For us as DJs, a successful event relies heavily on the planner's clarity, timing, and communication. Andrea excelled at all three. Her cues were crystal clear, her flexibility never compromised the bigger picture, and her collaboration felt seamless. It's rare to find someone who can hold both the creative and logistical sides of event production in perfect harmony. Andrea is that rare gem. And beyond the work, there's a real human connection there--a warmth that draws people in, makes vendors want to go above and beyond, and creates the kind of synergy that guests can feel, even if they don't see it. After this event, I'm not only grateful--I'm inspired. I genuinely hope to work with Andrea and Mia Emma Love Events more in the future. I believe that if we continue to collaborate, we could create experiences that are unforgettable, meaningful, and consistently next-level. Andrea, thank you for the trust, the kindness, the professionalism, and for being exactly the kind of event partner every creative hopes for. I'm honored to have been a part of this one--and I'm already looking forward to the next. With deep appreciation, DJ Brandon Beach

But at the price point it was just too steep (pun intended) for what we got: Deviled Eggs {4/5} interesting that it was fried! This was probably one of the best of our meal. It was just downhill from here. Crab Cakes {3/5} decent. Nothing extraordinary but nothing bad either. Smashed Potatoes {4/5} crispy outside, soft, fluffy centers. Better than the mains! Prime Rib {2/5} so sadly overcooked with a side of a single overcooked, flavorless carrot to pair with it too. I was so disappointed. Seafood Catch of the Day {2/5} hubs had the fish dish and he said it was really bland. It lacked any flavor at all. Agnello Brasato {2/5} my mother-in-law had the lamb shank and it was braised for too long so it was dry. The Smoking Gun {4/5} creativity points for smoking inside a bottle before pouring. Decent cocktail but not a "must get" for whisky cocktail enthusiasts. Overcooked and overpriced. Maybe come for the view and cocktails. Hate that I have to give this two-stars but no one in my family liked it :(
