I have had a truly horrible experience with Blanca's Cleaners and cannot recommend this business. I've used their cleaning services a few times and didn't have any major issues (aside from somewhat inflated prices), but it is located conveniently close to home. Recently, however, I left a pair of pants with them for dry cleaning. When I arrived to collect them, they had lost my pants. I was told they would call me within a few days once my clothing had been located; I was not contacted, instead I came into the shop again to ask if my pants had been found. At this point, I was told to return three days later and that Blanca would have a check for me to reimburse me for my missing clothing. Three days later, I was told that I would not be receiving a check but that Blanca could "go and purchase new pants" for me. At this obviously ridiculous notion, I demanded that I receive reimbursement and was told that she needed to "check with the manager" about my reimbursement check. I have returned to this shop FIVE times now and been told to leave and come back. Now, everytime I go or any time I call, the only person I am able to speak with is the man at the front desk who tells me he cannot do anything to help and that I must wait to speak with Blanca as she is the owner, yet she is conveniently never available to speak with me. Clearly, they have no intention of ever reimbursing me for my clothing which THEY lost. I cannot stress enough what a nightmare it is to deal with these people. I've never considered how much of a difference a simple alteration could change a garment so drastically until I took a pair of jeans and a blazer in to be cleaned. The owner Blanca happened to be the one helping me (whom I didn't realize until much later was the owner) has an acute eye for detail, and listening. I was sold since that moment, so much so, that there's not one blazer, or a pair of jeans in my closet that Blanca hasn't altered in some way. I trust her implicitly. I purchased 2 designer pairs of Issey Miyake pants because I knew that Blanca could make them look and fit even more incredibly. I love this woman and her sons who run the counter - they all work SO HARD and SO EFFICIENTLY. They truly want the client to be satisfied. I hope that this business and Blanca stays around forever. I cannot recommend Blanca's services enough. She's my trusted go-to on all alternations I could possibly need for ANY occasion but especially important ones. I've attached several photos of her work. For context, I was a groomswoman in my best friends wedding and I needed some pretty major alternations and adjustments to the dress. I was worried to have anyone work on the neckline but I knew that if anyone could do it, it would be Blanca. The alterations were absolutely perfect. I recently got married and purchased this expensive white pantsuit outfit for the rehearsal dinner. It was a total mess when it arrived - the arms were too big/loose and needed to be taken in, the waist needed to be taken in and the most complex issue was the butt / crotch area. The train was stitched into the butt line and the crotch wasn't... comfortable if you know what I mean ladies. Discomfort aside, it umm... was stitched weird in the crotch and essentially had flaps... LOL! Not great but I knew Blanca could fix it and I could trust her with such an important expensive outfit. The results are the attached and I have never received so many compliments! It was sheer perfection all thanks to Blanca. She's the only person I use in the city. The worst experience ever! I met with the alteration lady there and I put 8 items with her to work on them on 11/08/2021 and I mentioned to her I am very tight with time and she promised me all the pieces will be ready in maximum 2 weeks. I came after two weeks to pick up my items and from the 7 pieces she had 4 pieces ready " the easy pieces" she promised me again she will finish the other 4 items in 2 days. I came after one week and nothing was ready and her excuse this time that she was not sure what to do with one short so she stopped working completely on the other pieces and she promised by end of the week everything will be ready. I came to pick up my items today 12/15/2021 I found out she finished 2 pieces out of the 4 pieces. The worst part of this horrible experience that I wasted 34 days and the results are completely a disaster and any beginner Tailor would do better job than that lady and the prices are insane!! She charged me $55 for cutting my sleeves t-shirt to a muscle shirt and when I tried to complain the cashier refused to give me the manager number !! We went to Blanca's Cleaners for alterations for my wedding dress and my husband's tuxedo. We were new to getting fitted, but Blanca made us feel comfortable and made the process really easy! My husband's tux was off-the-rack, but the alterations done made it look and feel like it was a bespoke tux! She tailored the width of the arms and pants to give him the perfect slim cut he wanted. As for my dress, I had found the dress of my dreams, except I was swimming in the lace sleeves. She resized the sleeves and reinforced the shoulders so the delicate fabric wouldn't tear. The back of my dress had a beautiful row of buttons going down along my back, but I was so paranoid they were going to pop open. Blanca suggested adding a zip enclosure behind the buttons, making it feel a lot more secure and discreet - you wouldn't have known there was a zipper! I have gotten 4 pairs of pants altered here and the overall quality has been very good. My one complaint is that on two of them the base of the hem was very high, which was surprising as the previous two were not that way. Besides this issue of consistency the price is better than most other places at around $30 for two pairs. I was charged more for my jeans, possibly because denim is more difficult to work with? Regardless, I would recommend using this location provided that you specify hem height and that the thread shade matches as best it can. read more

I've been going to Blanca since moving to New York in 2015. Even though I have since moved to different neighborhoods and boroughs, I always come back to her for my dry cleaning and alterations because of the exceptional quality of her work and customer service. She is attentive, detail oriented and talented. I once brought a dress that I thought was permanently destroyed by a broken bottle of nail polish in the suitcase but she managed to salvage the dress and remove all traces of the nail polish! I was amazed. She is able to get rid of any stain from clothing that I've brought in for cleaning and is also meticulous in her alterations. Stay away. I do not recommend these dry cleaners at all. They turned 1 patterned dress, 1 ivory silk blouse, and a white and blue skirt pink. I had included another black dress with a rhinestone pendant - most of the rhinestones fell off. When I showed them their work, they said they will try to fix the clothes or refund the service charge plus a percentage of the value of the clothing they ruined. They did not follow through nor did they take accountability for the mess. They refunded $71 to my card which was 50 percent of the total cleaning service I had paid them, and they did not refund any of the value of the clothing they ruined. read more

Bad customer service. I got two comforters cleaned for $35 each and it's not necessarily the quality of the cleaning or the cost but the terrible customer service I received and poor communication from the manager/owner. First of all, I was told that I would get the comforters delivered on Monday after I provided my credit card number for payment but nothing came on Monday. I called Tuesday morning to check in and I was told that the blankets would be delivered by Noon. I checked with the front desk at 12:30pm and there were no blankets. When I called Blanca's at 1:45pm to check on them, the owner/manager told me they were delivered at 11:30am and that the doormen must be "stupid" because they were there. She continued to yell at me to tell me they were downstairs but I had just checked at 12:30pm. I went back to the front desk to check and it turns out that even though I had changed my address on my laundry card, they used my old apartment number. Our doormen said that they were not delivered to the them directly either - that they were just put in the back without being told. This seems a bit odd to me since the Blanca's delivery person said he gave them to the doorman and he didn't care to enter it into the system. Either way, someone is lying. I'll be having words with my building management about notifying tenants of deliveries but that's what our doorman said. In the end, the blankets were at the front desk but I'm very upset about getting yelled at and having an argument about this. This is not the way to handle a customer service situation. I will not be going back to Blanca's because of this exchange and I would caution anyone else who thinks about going there to consider how they want to be treated. read more

Brought two blazers in to be dry cleaned and a pair of black jeans with grease stains all down the leg in the hopes they could get rid of the stains. I had already tried multiple times to remove the stains with no luck. Got them back from Blanca's and the stains are much fainter. I'm happy because I'll still be able to wear them. The blazers are wrinkle-free and look good. The three items were ready in 48 hours for $40. Very happy. read more

I want to preface this review by saying Blanca seems like a very nice person, and I'm sure she has a lot of happy clients that come back "forever"...I'm reviewing my single experience at this business: Rewind to last week - I drop off both work and "weekend" clothes, which is mainly shirts with misc pants, sweaters. The FIRST thing I asked the male employee was if they can hang dry the shirts, instead of machine drying & folding them (I am very tall but lanky, so the shirts I buy can't be dried b/c the length shrinks and I end up with a belly shirt). I was told "YES", Blanca even made a joke to me about having them dry cleaned instead, to which I politely laughed and said no thank you. It's actually b/c of the chemical (called tetrachloroethylene or "perc"). It is the main chemical used, and is very hazardous to human's health, so I choose not to do it...not something I need to tell the owner of a dry cleaning business...Anyway, then I handed the clothes over and left. So, earlier this evening - Walk into the store, hand over my ticket, and pay. Then, I saw the bag...it contained ALL of my clothes. I asked if they were at least hung dried, to which the answer was "NO". My heart and jaw sank a few inches each. It was obvious that no one followed through with the promise that "YES, we'll hang dry these." Simply got a look as if I was overreacting to the situation...No refund, no apologies, nothing. Grabbed my presumably ruined clothes and went home. Turns out they aren't all ruined, just 4. The employees were never rude, actually quite the opposite! Like I said at the beginning, Blanca & her team seem very nice. That being said, I will take my business elsewhere as I can't afford to lose 4 articles of clothing each time. read more

I don't normally write reviews but I thought this was necessary. I took a bridesmaid dress here because it was right by my apartment and had ok reviews. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating at first and I was very pleased. I left work early to pick up my dress a day later than they told me it would be ready and it still wasn't ready. When I came to pick it up the lady charged me 135$ for 2 inches of material and less than an inch bust. I have been in about 8 weddings with all style dresses and have never been charged over 80$. I was so frustrated I just left but the bottom was entirely crooked and the stitching was overlapped and messy. I am not stingy with my money but this was a complete rip off read more
