This time, my friend and I shared their ice cream flight, served in thin waffle cones. We sampled matcha green tea, cookie dough, and chai, all delicious, but the chai was spiced so perfectly it earned an 11/10. They offer ice cream mainly but also sorbet, coffee, tea and baked goods. They have some interesting flavors but I tried the maine blueberry ice cream. The ice cream was interesting but good. I don't usually go for fruity ice cream but decided try because we were in Maine. It has subtle blueberry flavor with creaminess and sweetness of ice cream. Overall the place was good. One of the best spots we tried in Maine! Love the cabin rustic vibe. Plenty of seating and parking. The staffs were all super nice and friendly. People in line were just all talking to each other and giving each other recommendations. They have a bunch of homemade ice cream flavors and desserts. They also have many seasonal flavors as well. We got the ice cream flight to share between two people on mini waffle cone bowls. Ice cream was super creamy. The flight comes in 3 choices of ice cream. We got the mud slide (chocolate, fudge, and brownie blend), maine blueberry (obviously), and lavender. All 3 flavors were great and the star of the flavors really shined through! They have all of the classic flavors you will love and also some other flavor combinations you must try, like German Chocolate cake! I'm such a fan of their Coffee Oreo with Fudge. YUM!!! Place had plenty of parking and the sign called to us on our drive to the garden. With so many flavors, I took a chance and ate samples of different interesting flavors. The staff was patient to my question and after so many samples, I got the lemon sobert which was refreshing in this warm day~ my partner had the blueberry ice cream which was also a great flavor. BEST ice cream in Maine! They typically have a coconut milk based, dairy free ice cream on rotate (their chocolate and almond joy are both so good) plus 3 sorbet flavors that are dairy free too. Mango is a family favorite! As far as regular Ice cream goes, all of their flavors are perfectly creamy and packed with flavor! They don't skip on the ice cream filling. We love their Cookie Monster and coffee Oreo, both have tons of cookies ensuring you get a punch of flavor in each bite. My son loves their vanilla (and so do I!). Even their more "boring" flavors are anything but! My husband skips right to their chocolate chip cookies, baked fresh daily. We've also come in the morning for their loafs, scones, and bagels. We're never disappointed! Add on a latte for the best start to your morning. All this to say, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose! Four of us descended on this place after an energetic hike through the Coastal Maine Garden. We were glad this place was open on Labor Day. We were pleased by the cool wooden barn interior, generous portions, and nice servers. As for the eight different flavors we tried: Maine Blueberry and grape nuts were both yummy, mocha chip ok. The flavor of the butter pecan was odd and left an aftertaste. Coconut was creamy but bland, lacking any discernible flavor. Maple walnut was adequate. Cherry chip lacked cherries and though pink tasted like vanilla, no cherry flavor - the chips were chocolate. Malted vanilla was very light vanilla but undetectable malt. Because we love ice cream, we overlooked these shortcomings and consumed it all. read more

I wanted to like this place but the amazing waffle account people posted about we're overcooked and my boyfriend's cone was actually cracked and instead of just replacing it the person just gave him free gummy bears on his ice cream, which was weird and also a lower-priced item. Wow! This place is fantastic! I enjoyed a flight of ice cream. Each of the 3 scoops of ice cream were served on a ice cream cone shaped like a little cup. This was a lot of fun. The ice cream was top of the line with double chocolate being my favorite. Fudge brownie and mocha chip tied for second best. All 3 flavors were creamy and rich in flavor. This might spoil me for other ice cream. I have had a lot of ice cream in my time (always out, never pre-packaged or store bought ( if I am going to get ice cream I want the whole experience) but this one blew me away. No outrageous flavors here, though the flavors and combinations are varied and there seems to be about 30 to 40 different varieties on any given day. This is super-premium ice cream and puts our locals to shame. Creamy at the right temperature it is just right;not too hard, not too soft. There is no milky after taste which shows quality. You can cones or dishes as well as Malteds (nobody makes the lost delicacy of Malteds anymore) Frappes, Sundaes, etc, in varied sizes. There are also coffee drinks available. The interior was cute in a log cabinish way and spotless. The staff was very accommodating and helpful as you can sample before you commit. There are several tables inside (again, go for the entire experience) No frozen fruit here. You can taste the clean ingredients: no chemicals, no stabilizers, just honest ice cream. We passed by several times and the parking lot was always full giving proof that this place is legit. They also serve cookies and bagels till they run out - saw a French Toast Bagel that was calling me but I resisted. What this reminded me of is the old time Dairy Stores of my youth (but now with a modern twist). I just wish I didn't have to be just on vacation to have this wonderful treat. read more

Very pleasant experience, but here's some well-meaning constructive feedback: 1) the teenagers working there need a bit more training on being a barista. The espresso drinks are a bit weak and usually not hot enough 2) would be great if you offered ceramic mugs for those staying in the store. Paper cups are OK for take out, but not great if you're drinking upstairs 3) speaking of upstairs, could use a bit of work to make it more homier. Husband and I camping at Shore Hills Campground and passed this Ice Cream shop, how convenient for us, about a 7 min drive!!
