I ordered the pesto egg on sourdough with homemade pesto, a perfectly cracked egg, fresh greens, and balsamic sauce -- and honestly, I was blown away. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the flavors came together beautifully. It's one of those dishes you instantly know you'll come back for again and again. The greens on the side were fresh and complemented it really well. My wife had the mushroom + Gruyère omelette with shallots and garlic, served with sweet potatoes -- and she absolutely loved it. She's already a fan of anything with mushrooms, but this one, with the Gruyère, took it to another level. It really hit the spot. I was only able to have their donuts that are offered every Friday. They usually try to have four different ones every week I believe. They also have a casual breakfast and lunch menu. The service was friendly while the ordering was done. All four donuts were tried. My thoughts on each are below. Vanilla Cruller ($3.25) - This was very light. The texture reminded me of a bread pudding, and crusty bread. It needed more of a vanilla flavoring. Filled Caramel Corn ($4) - This had sweet corn custard, caramel topping, and caramel popcorn. The custard was great. It appeared heavy when picking up, but that was not the case at all. The caramel topping reminded me of a crème brulee. The popcorn pieces were a little stale, but not a big deal. I liked the donut texture as well. Banana pudding ($4) - This was very tasty. It tasted what I expected it too and there was a nice feel on the donut. Mango Raspberry ($4) - The raspberry flavor combined with the mango was appealing, but I was expecting more mango actually. I went to Blawenburg Bistro for the first time on a weekday for lunch. The parking lot was packed, thankfully we decided to carpool and there was a spot we could pull into. There's not a ton of seating inside- it's first come first serve. You pretty much just order at the counter and they will bring it to you if you have a seat or they'll hand it to you at the front. A waitress there was nice enough to separate a big table so we could have a table for two. We got the chicken pesto sandwich and the turkey club and I got the Blawenburg latte with mocha and coconut foam. I've never had a latte with coconut foam so I wasn't sure how it would taste but it was really good! It's not a super strong coconut flavor. The chicken pesto sandwich was really good but kept falling apart since it's on a croissant. I think it would've been better on sourdough. My favorite part was the truffle kettle chips- they were SO good and addicting. Would definitely come back here to try some other items especially the bakery stuff. read more

We love stopping by here for coffee and pastries. Most recently ordered caramel cappuccinos which were perfect. Also ordered gluten free chocolate cake and the vanilla frosted French cruller was one of the best doughnuts I've ever had! The outdoor seating is lovely on sunny days and plenty of cozy seating inside too. Staff are friendly and attentive as well. Super cute place! This was my first time here and I will say off the bat, we parked in the back and coming inside was hard with 2 senior citizens. There's a steep step, and stairs, so something to consider if you're with elderly. I think it may be easier to go through the front door. The iced chai is absolutely amazing!! My Mom even got another one to take home. It was that good. Sandwiches were delightful, and an average size, not a crazy big portion. I do wish they offered more sides with lunch. There was plenty of seating inside and out. We sat inside and service was good but it's not a full service restaurant. It's like, they serve you what you ordered and leave and you pay at the register, which is totally fine. Dessert to go was cookies and they were yummy! read more

Had a nice lunch here today. Upon arrival, there was a sign stating that they were short staffed and wait times might be long. I appreciated the heads up, so we went ahead and put in our order at the counter. you can choose to sit inside,outside, or take it to go once you place your order and pay. We opted to sit inside and waited around 20 mins for our sandwiches. There were only two people working, one at the counter and one in the kitchen so it was a reasonable amount of time, and again we had been given that info up front. Once the food arrived we were very pleased with the curried chicken salad and 'the rory' sandwiches. Both were accompanied by truffle potato chips. very tasty and good quality. This place is the cutest corners bistro ever! I love how it is quaint inside and they have a small variety of breakfast and lunch items to eat. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! The service was pretty quick and the staff were extremely nice! all things considered it was OK. It's inside of a house. That is really not maintained very well on the outside. Not a pleasant look from the front. Inside is definitely cleaner, but the exterior kinda turns you off a little bit. The pricing was a little bit high for what you get, the service was pretty good, the people seem to be very pleasant. Overall, not a great value and not a good visual appearance from the outside. I probably won't go here again unless I really need to, and it's unfortunate, because I only live a couple of blocks away. read more

I teach at the Pilates studio across the street so I have passed by often but only got the chance to stop it today. Very charming, rustic little place. I ordered the turkey club and what I got wasn't what I expected but I mean that in the best way! This was a turkey club indeed but it was in panini form! I've never had a warm turkey club before and it was amazing! The avocado inside (slightly warmed) was a nice surprise as well! There was just something comforting about the whole sandwich. Also, it was nice to not have SUCH a HUGE sandwich to get my teeth into. It was delicious! They don't offer fries, but the sandwich came with chips on the side. I will definitely be back. My girlfriends and I went for lunch. It was my first time there. It is so cute and welcoming! I ordered a yummy beet salad with delicious walnuts and I subbed feta for the blue cheese it comes with. The beets were sweet and the crunch from the walnuts was perfect. The other standout for me was the iced vanilla dirty chai latte with oat milk!! it was dreamy!!! Last weekend we went to the Blawenburg Bistro. We have driven by so many times over the years and finally decided to stop. Wish we hadn't. We ordered our food. A breakfast sandwich and an omelet. The place was not crowded. The host was very nice, we liked his energy and friendliness. We sat at a table and someone brought out our coffee and tea after about 10 minutes (tea is to brew 3 minutes so it doesn't get bitter) Obviously they are not tea drinkers as my tea was bitter and very dark and brought out without a spoon to remove the bag. The tea was piping hot I could not remove with my fingers. My husband got up to get me a spoon and the woman cooking yelled at him "NO NO! We will bring them out!" My husband said he needed a spoon to remove my teabag and she rolled her eyes at him. He took one anyway. My tea was overbrewed by this point. So we waited for our food and my husband's sandwich came out. The next table's food came out and my omelet was no where in sight. After about 10 minutes the waiter delivered food to table nearby and nothing for me still so my husband said "what did you order?" And i said "just an omelet". The waiter must have heard because a few minutes later the host pops his head over the partial wall and said "we overlooked your order! We will get the stuff ready now. The eye rolling cook leaned over and also said she would get it going. Now we have been there waiting a half hour and my husband's sandwich is cold. He is a gentleman and likes to wait for all food to arrive. Another 10 minutes goes by and I finally atood up to put on my coat. We have now been waiting 40 minutes for an omelette! The cook said she would bring it right over so I sat back down. She brought it over a few minutes later and it was a very thick egg and mushroom pancake that was very brown. I pushed it away and said to My husband it is too brown and it is not an omelette. I suffer from hypoglycemia and now we are there 50 minutes. The cook came back and said she would make another. We waited another 20 minutes. Meanwhile my husband's sandwich is still sitting there and I asked him to eat it so he finally took a few bites. His sandwich was just "ok". Maybe if he had gotten to eat it hot it may have been better. My omelette arrived finally and was half fold light yellow with the mushrooms folded inside just as an omelette should be. I have no idea what she brought me initially so all I can say is it sat in the pan way too long and she had the audacity to bring it out to me like that which meant she overlooked me TWICE. The host came over and put some Money down on the table and apologized. I would give them a second chance if it weren't for the eye roll to our spoon request which told me she could not care less if I got burned or had to drink bitter overbrewed tea. It is just a spoon lady! What was the big fuss?! And if it weren't for the SECOND overlooking of my omelet. I know what a forgotten omelette looks like. What a shame because it seems like it would be good food if the cook would pay attention. The host tried to make it right but maybe he didn't know about the eye roll. Proceed with caution if you want to try this place. The omelette was good but I waited an hour and a half for it. read more

My first visit today and I will definitely be back. My husband and I stopped in for lunch. We split two different sandwiches and both were heavenly. The grilled Brie and fig on rye was so yummy. Our second sandwich was a grilled chicken, Brie, grilled onions and raspberry jam on Italian bread. It was out of this world. Service was excellent. We ate inside however once the weather warms, I am looking forward to sitting outside on the patio. They also have many yummy treats for dessert. We tried the gluten free apple cobbler. The service at this boutique cafe makes you feel like the exclusive guest at a country resort. The fair is not too fussy, yet excellent in every regard. They've got an all day breakfast menu as well as more savory options. Great for dine in or take out I stop here for a quiet place to meet or get work done. The only reason I am giving this a 2 star review is that this is based on staff not the over all establishment. I went in with a friend and this particular worker was just extremely dismissive and rude. The way we were treated, like a bother to get us coffee and a muffin, changed the course of my day and now I am in a poorer mood for it. I understand if people have an off day but maybe take a personal day and sort yourself out, don't bring it into a stranger's day. Had several recent great experiences getting cakes from Blawenburg Bistro! Jenn is so easy to work with a did a great job of navigating our kids' allergies (egg, dairy) and working with her pastry chef to put together cakes that were both tasty and amazingly decorated! Our children and their friends loved the Elmo and Cookie Monster mini-cupcakes and the Elmo cake, and our family and friends were wow-ed by how beautiful the Safar-themed cake turned out! I really appreciate the thought and creativity that the team put into making these really special. Both cake flavors were delicious, but the carrot cake was what everyone was fighting over (we'll have to get a bigger size of that next time!). People were surprised to learn that the cakes were vegan, which is always a good sign! In the past, we've also tried their gluten-free cakes and they're delicious too.
