Visited Blaze for a beer on a Sunday recently for the first time. You have to go down a lot of stairs so it doesn't appear to be handicap friendly. It looked like they had been very busy and we're starting to recover. There was a birthday party and a number of menu items were unavailable. I stayed for a beer and left. It's good for Biddeford to have a food/beverage option with parking.

If you're looking for great beers a bit outside of Portland, Blaze is worth the drive! First, the beers were great. They had an outstanding pastry sour and brown ale on draft, as well as a handful of really good IPAs and stouts. Second, I loved sitting next to an open window through which we could see the magnificent river and feel its spray. Third, the beertender was cool, and I appreciated the tailored service. I would definitely return if I am ever in the area again!

This is a mixed review. Come for the beer and food, not the outside atmosphere. Pros: Food and beer. First, as a brewery, this place has some awesome beers. Tasty, flavorful, hoppy - they had something for everyone. A really strong showing on the beer front. Even the margarita was good. The food was good. The wings were big, flavorful and spicy, with good smoke flavor. My wife's pizza had a perfectly cooked crust, but the bottom of the pizza was barley cooked. Gotta fix that. Mac and cheese, cole slaw, baked beans and burger for the kids were all good. They are really trying with the food and it's clear they aren't just getting Sysco products like other places in the area. The knocks on this place were atmosphere. Their outside "patio" was a few picnic tables in a bare parking lot next to Merck's old smoke stack. It could use a few umbrellas, planters, and a little sprucing up. Perhaps that's coming or now allowed? Inside was looked cool; will return in the fall/winter for sure.

Very disappointed in the food here! The atmosphere outside on the patio was lovely overlooking the river and the beer was great. However, I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and it was disgusting. The menu description states "pulled chicken" however what I was served was large chunks of chicken, several pieces which were gray in color... not good and definitely didn't match the description. My friends ordered a salad and the ribs - also mediocre at best. Great spot with lots of potential, but will not be going back here for the food anytime soon. Went to the Bar Harbor location a few months the ago, and had a much better experience. They also had a much larger menu and beer selection.

Great new brewery in Biddeford! Excellent beer, lots of different options - stouts, IPA, pils, lager, and more - and the best food menu in town! Outdoor taps and wood fired oven. Haven't eaten yet but the menu is the best I've seen in Biddeford/Saco! Update- had the wood fired BBQ chicken wings - excellent and generous portions.

This was my second visit to Blaze. I've only had beer so far. I very much enjoyed the Blazing Love. It's a great sour with notes of blueberry and vanilla. My friends did have some food and they were accommodating to take a special request on pizza.

We came to Blaze Brewing for the beer, but the food was also a home run! We had the focaccia bread, which had the most perfect crust. We also had the street corn and the oysters - also delicious! The berry beer that we had was so good - I wish I could remember the name! The waitstaff were very kind as well.

Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts barely cooked

So I went here for the first time last night, I had high hopes. I had heard that Blaze Brewing their Camden location was awesome, the beer was great, but I was a little disappointed when I arrived. First off the parking situation stinks, when you drive down the dirt road past all these commercial factory type buildings your not sure where to park. And then if you get all the way down to the end of the road in front of Blaze and there's no spots left it's a really tight and tough to spin around in. Next the space itself, it had a big covered canvas tent with heavy plastic sheets draped over it to keep the wind out and there were heaters inside. There were a few easy up pop tents set up outside with no heaters, I had to wait there a little while before a table in the heated tent opened up. Onto the beer and food the most important part. I went with the High Tide a dark milk stout. It was pretty good, very smooth and rich. My date had the Percolate another stout. There were notes of vanilla, maple, and coffee, soooo sooo good. It was almost creamy, but not too heavy the way some stouts can be. The food though, let me say again I had high hopes here, especially considering their prices. We ordered their Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Yuck! First of all when I saw the words maple roasted I assumed as with most places when you order Brussel Sprouts now that they'll be glazed in whatever sauce creation their advertising. Nope, it was just a little cup of sauce on that side not even drizzled on. Second of all the Brussel Sprouts weren't cooked enough all the way through so it was like eating them cold and raw, wicked disappointing. For the rest of our dinner I went with the Diner Burger that came with a side of Mac & Cheese with bacon. The portion was decent, and the Mac & Cheese warm which after the Brussel Sprouts was very welcome. For some reason though the Mac & Cheese must be kept like ready to serve in some large pan that was covered in oil on the bottom because the bottom of my plate was soaked, like absolutely drenched in it. It wouldn't have bothered me as much but the bun on my burger was sitting in it to so it was soggy and falling apart. The burger itself was average, the bun a little bulky, but the patty cooked well. I don't think it warranted the $11 price tag if I'm being honest given the presentation, I had a lot of bread leftover, and there was just this huge chunk of iceberg lettuce they slapped on the burger which I could have done without. My date had just an order of Mac & Cheese, same issue with the oil, coated the whole plate. We did share the strawberry shortcake. That was definitely worth it. There was homemade whipped cream on the side, and it came with fresh strawberries and a couple blueberries coating the cake. That was definitely the best part of the meal hands down. All in all I think its a place I'd prefer to just get a beer at for a little while but eat elsewhere or maybe grab a four pack to go. I'm not sure if the food and prices warranted a full meal there in the future.

Second time here and just as great! Pictures from our first time. We tried the pizza and wings tonight!

Blaze brewing company has a great selection of beer and drinks, but after dining in with a few friends we realized that the food was subpar. My dish, grandma's Pizza, was extremely soggy and soupy. As soon as you picked it up the bottom of the pizza collapsed into an ocean of liquid . Two of my company had the macaroni and cheese , and they said it was okay. Nothing special and very bland. We all agreed the best thing we were served was the cornbread which was absolutely delicious. The food needs improvement, but the atmosphere and beer selection are what you would expect from a brewing restaurant.

I've never tasted a beer described as "blueberry cobbler with marshmallow and cinnamon." Blazing Love (just described) brought me here and I tried 3 more sours and loved them all.

The two met in elementary school and have been friends ever since. After turning 21, Schofield received a homebrewing kit from his father and started homebrewing. In 2003, he got a job working as the assistant brewer at Federal Jack's brewpub in Kennebunkport. Later, Schofield was hired as the lead brewing consultant for the design and development of the Railroad Seafood Station Restaurant and Brewpub. Meanwhile, Mills worked in the hospitality industry and managed a number of bars and restaurants. He developed a reputation for pairing food, wine, and beer selections with his customers' tastes, interests, and budgets. Mills even opened his own high-end retail wine company. Finally the two friends decided to collaborate and open their own brewery. They opened their modest brewery in the basement of a law office. Unlike other breweries, 100% of Barreled Souls' beer undergoes primary fermentation in oak barrels as opposed to stainless steel tanks. This fermentation system is based off of the Burton Union system, which was a method of fermenting beer developed in England in the 1800's. Although they have a relatively small operation, Barreled Souls has earned a reputation for producing some of the best beers in Maine. I visited Barreled Souls with my older son this summer while my I was spending the week in Maine with my family. Barreled Souls had been on my brewery bucket list for a while. I was surprised to see what a small operation they were, but that was fine with me as I usually prefer smaller breweries. I initially ordered a taster flight which featured "Purple Rain" (Fruited Sour), "No Clean Cups" (Double IPA), "The Mind Flayer" (Imperial Stout), and "Knob Creek Extended BA Nebula" (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine). Every single beer that I sampled was fantastic! The brewery also has their own food truck dubbed "Barreled Souls Burger". I enjoyed their delicious "Bold Brunch" (quarter pound patty topped w/ hash browns, bacon, cheddar cheese & a fried egg) while my son enjoyed the "Tachos" (loaded cheesy tots topped w/ taco beef, jalapeños, onions, black olives, served w/ sour cream & salsa). I was so impressed with the beer that I ordered a second flight that featured "Speakeasy Red Sangria" (Red Wine Barrel-Aged Gose), "The Pineapple Upside Down" (Triple New England IPA), "Vecna" (Imperial Fruited Sour), and "Banana Bread at Work Dude" (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine; collab w/ Abomination Brewing). I was equally impressed with these beers, and I love all of the "Stranger Things" references in the beer names. Before leaving, I purchased a bottle of "Strawberry Jam Stay Puft" (Imperial Stout) to take home. I had an excellent experience at Barreled Souls and I highly recommend them to all serious craft beer aficionados!

This morning, my wife and I finally planned to go check out their space for the first time. What more could you truly ask for than a cafe/coffee shop meets bookstore meets beer bar! My wife is more of an avid reader than I am so she enjoyed the book aspect more. They have a large menu of offerings drink wise with everything you'd expect from a coffee shop. I do wish they did a rotating seasonal special drink menu, as places usually have one or more great sounding drinks on those. Both my wife and I settled on an iced blueberry latte. Overall it had hints of blueberry and tasted more like milk than anything. Would not be rushing back for it specifically that's for sure. Food wise they have some in-house baked goods as well as bagels from Rose Foods and corssiants from Little Spruce Baking. My wife got a plain bagel with cream cheese while I grabbed a chocolate croissant. I did mess up by not requesting it be warmed up but it was still delicious! Will be finding more spots that have goodies from Little Spruce. The bagel was also tasty. Book wise my wife enjoyed browsing but did not find any books she needed to grab. She did enjoy reading a couple chapters of her current book while we sat by the large windows (good spot for world watching outside). We enjoyed our visit but have other spots we would be happier to visit again.

Important to note: they allow dogs. And while we LOVE dogs (we couldn't resist petting the ones running around), I can see how this policy might not be for everyone. For what? I have no idea -- there was no live music or anything like that during the hour we spent there. As for the drinks, the beer was... fine. I had the IPA, and while I didn't love it, I'd probably drink it again. The highlight was the pizza. It was phenomenal and made up for some of the other lows.
