    Steak burrito

Had to stop and try this somewhat new brewery down the street from where I live. When I walk into the building it reminded me of upbeat hipster kind of place has a nice patio out back with a propane fireplace, not a lot of sitting area and the music was exactly what you would want to expect from a modern brewery. Then I was quickly reminded I was out in the country and not downtown Portland with loud obnoxious rednecks yelling and swearing with their friends. The beer was surprisingly smooth and light for such high alcohol content. But lacked in bold flavor and color. The menu you order from gives descriptions of what the beer is and what it tastes like, but doesn't match what you actually get, in my opinion. I don't mind paying $5 bucks for a 12oz beer but when it compares to other beers in the area that you can get 16oz beer for the same price. I'm not going to waste my money. The real gem here is the food truck that was out back that night. El Camino Mexican Grill. If I could give a review on just the food it would be five stars. I ordered two burritos one for my wife and I and the lady making the food said I would only need one to feed the both of us and man was she ever right. I got a steak burrito that probably had close to a pound of nice marinated steak in it sour cream black beans rice and a huge portion of guacamole all for $10 bucks. I also saw people ordering tacos that looked delicious as well. On the side of the cart there were about 8 different hot sauces to choose from couple were locally made. I tried the habanero blueberry which made a great addition to my already perfect burrito. I don't think I will be returning here for the beer unless I hear of some changes. These guys are definitely on the right path, unfortunately I think they set up shop in a bad location. But I will be on the lookout for that food truck again and may go try others that they host.

There are always the breweries in the Portland scene that are drawing people in, but little do people know, there are some really cool breweries hidden throughout Maine. Xota is one of those hidden gems in Waterboro, Maine. Xota is in a really unique and spacious venue. From the outside, it looks like a high-ceilinged store, but the moment you walk in, there are modern touches that bring this place to life. It vastly white with tons of light coming in through the large windows and modern light fixtures. The venue is fairly small, but the high ceilings keep it feeling open and spacious. As far as the beers, there are some really cool options. When I went, they have a fruited cream ale, a white stout, along with your typical IPA, stout, and lager options. The IPAs were really good, and my friend and I decided to split a small of the white stout, which was surprisingly amazing! Definitely some place I would come back to again, especially when there is nicer weather!

With breweries popping up all over Maine it's only right that one would appear in what feels like the middle of now where. Xota Brewing Company is making Waterboro somewhere, and somewhere that people want to seek out to drink beer. I highly suggest you take the drive out to this new brewery that was dream that came to fruition for its owners. At this moment they are serving up seven beers, all of which have something unique to offer. One thing I love is that it's menu board is not completely overwhelmed with ipa's. They offer a beer for everyone the Ossipee Mountain Pale Ale and the Cait are easy light beers for a hot summer day. The Oatis is what I think of when it's cold out and I want to warm up. No matter which beer you pick your taste buds will have a pleasurable experience. The owners Josh and Caitlin are incredibly knowledgeable about what he's creating! The building it's self is new, clean and fresh. They often have food trucks serving up different foods, a beautiful patio and lawn games! Here's the reality, this is a place YOU WANT TO BE!!!!!

    Beers outside- nothing better!

This is a great little brewery to stop at if you're interested in spending some time outside sipping a yummy beer. Their COVID protocols are good, and we felt very safe (and nicely distanced) in the outdoor area. The beers were all good and the service was quick and friendly. I'd definitely recommend stopping by!

Might be cold out but Oatis and the fire pit keeps us warm.

Beer is tasty and the people working there super friendly. Cornhole outside, live music and food truck at times as well. Recommended!

This was a curious and unexpected find. The outdoor area was well spaced and comfortable. The beer was very good. I'd definitely stop again.

Great spot, fantastic beers, fantastic employees + live music on Fridays. I don't drink much, but…read moreif I do, I love stouts. To my satisfaction, they had a pretty tasty stout and even let me buy a half glass rather than full. The great musician offered up some fun live music - which Sanford needs more of, so I'm grateful for that, but then he allowed my brother to go up and sing some songs. Maybe that will become a more regular happening! Their closing time is listed as 8pm but I think because people were there having a good time, they stayed open a little bit later.

We wanted to stop for ice cream next door and were also hungry. Upon investigation we discovered…read more(or so we thought) that we could order the food from the ice cream place and have it delivered to this place. Of course the ice cream place was packed so we opted for this. Unbeknownst to me, there was an upcharge since this place isn't really related to the ice cream shop. It was all a bit confusing. It was really hot inside so we opted to sit outside on some barrels. I ordered some chicken strips and a hot dog, with fries. We also ordered some mozarella sticks. I had ordered the hot dog since I wasn't sure how many chicken strips I would get, turns out three chicken strips would have sufficed. The hot dog was the kind with thick skin that I had to ungraciously strip off before I could even take a bite!! Once the skin was gone the hot dog was good. The chicken strips were OK, somehow a bit too processed for my preference. Fries unremarkable. The ambiance was nice, we had a fun time laughing on the side of the restaurant. I might come here again if the weather was better, it was SO HOT inside that it would not have been habitable for me. I might try something different next time.

It's a great location for big parties...the only strange thing about this location, it's huge with plenty of seating...however there isn't a lot of parking so if you had 12 people coming to meet for a work event...that would take up the parking area pretty quickly. I'm glad this location exists to get them more exposure and also to allow them to stock up on more of the limited release items. I do recommend this location.

This is how I want to know them. I like that it's off the beaten path, tucked away in some industrial park; the parking is like the wild west - there's no rules, just put your car somewhere that isn't in the way; and the interior of the brewery itself is waaaaaaaaay bigger than you think it's gonna be, and it's beautiful. It feels like you're inside a wood cabin in the middle of, well, the woods in Maine. Lots of seating options, cool merch, and the beers? Yeah. Okay. I get it. They're probably in my top three favorites in the state of Maine. I don't like IPA's, but dagnabbit if that Oh-J isn't delicious. It's like a juicy, alcoholic orange juice without the pulp or vitamin c. I'll also never say no the Samara Brown (subtly bitter like coffee left in the pot overnight), the Chaga Stout (earthy and roasty; but is it still an anti-inflammatory superfood when it's in beer?), or the Maple Sunday (which tastes like a pancake breakfast). Also, the Holy Donut collaboration was awesome - dark chocolate coconut donuts turned into a 10.5% ABV beer is a totally great idea. Even better? Pairing them WITH the actual donuts. For sure looking forward to releases like this in the future! I like that they have an outdoor space (and that there's room for food trucks to come up alongside it) and am excited to come back to this specific location.
