​This weekend during our errands, we stopped at Blaze-N-Grill, located right at the corner of Devon and Milwaukee in a former KFC. They have a decent-sized lot with about 25 spots and a few outdoor tables out front. Walking in, you're greeted by large, thriving tropical plants that bring real warmth to the industrial space. ​The menu features burgers, gyros, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, wings, salads, and wraps. The counter staff was warm, welcoming, and even asked for our cooked temperature preferences on the burgers and steak sandwich (medium-rare to well-done). We ordered to dine in, and our food was brought out to our table. ​What We Tried: ​Ribeye Steak Sandwich: $15.00 ​BBQ Burger ($11.00): Added bacon ($1.25) ​Merkts Cheddar Burger ($12.00): Added an egg ($1.50) ​Three-Layer Loaded Fries: $5.50 ​Fountain Drinks: They use a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine (clearly marked for a limit of one refill per person). ​Blaze-N-Grill grills their buns, which makes a huge difference--an un-grilled bun out of the bag can ruin a sandwich. These are thick, hearty burgers. A single was so filling that I took half of mine home; a double would be great for larger appetites. ​Operating right across the street from the iconic Superdawg can't be easy, but Blaze-N-Grill holds its own and serves a truly excellent burger. read more

First time trying Merck cheese and it was so good! I love their hand cut fries and i got the chili cheese dog it wasnt anything special but it qasnt bad too so i would order it again. But i would definitely go back and order womething with the merck cheese in the.menu in the future! Their Gyros had a heafty meat with it and it was good as well. Definitely going back! If you want food that is nothing like what's advertised this is the spot! Called in saying I'd like to place an order for pick up and the priority of the girl who answered was collecting my personal information including phone number, first and last name. That was red flag number one but I looked it over, fine. Placed the order and came to pick up. Got handed an empty Styrofoam cup for the drink and two sloppy bags, not very presentable even by fast food standard but okay, we are hungry. Opened the food at home to our greatest disappointment, this is nothing like what we were imagining based off the website! Side by shots included below. The star of this tragedy were the so called "fries" or potato scraps drenched in old oil. The meat was not seasoned and the small amount of sauce barely helped. All the vegetables looked pale and had little flavor. The burger that was requested well done was so undercooked it looked like it only licked the surface of the grill and was probably not safe for consumption. The steak that was requested medium rare was overcooked, rubbery and thin. I am posting this review as a service to those who may consider spending their hard earned money at this overpriced fast food joint hoping for something with more quality. I don't want a refund or the 10% off my next order as there won't be any more orders placed here by us. If the owner cares for their business surviving I recommend quality checks for food before it reaches the customer and less young girls working at the registers focused on collecting the personal information of customers. read more

Stopped in on a Monday night they have a small parking lot available for parking. Upon entering I was quickly greeted by the cashier. Their guests say they have one of the best classic cheeseburgers in the nation, so I ordered a char- cheeseburger everything on it, grilled onions and bacon. The meal comes with a drink and fries. Also, had to try a hot dog everything on it. They have a dining room with booths and tables available for dining in. Placed my order sat down and noticed the restaurant was clean and well kept however the top of my wood table was clean but the table top was sticky like the finish/varnish was breaking down. The food arrived quickly the girl brought it out to my table and also brought a squeeze bottle of ketchup. First up the hot dog, very good hot dog, nice snap and all the Chicago style toppings done right. Now to the burger, very big burger char grilled looks good but here's where it falls off. The burger was cooked as requested medium rare but the beef patty itself lacked seasoning and was quite bland, needed salt, none available at the booths. The bacon was not crispy but soggy and not very much there. Lettuce and tomato warm and unseasoned. Grilled onion not noticeable. In my opinion not one of the best burgers in the nation, at least this visit but I will be back as they have a large menu and would like to try the Philly or the steak sandwich. After placing my order at the counter and time to pay I get the Tip option? What exactly should I be tipping you for? I have not even eaten yet, should I guess how its going to be? and what are you doing any different from say a Portillo's or a McD's your a burger joint. We ordered Greek chicken salad -NO DRESSING. Called to let them know and the person answering the phone was short and rude. Then my husband's side order of rice was missing. I know it's not the end of the world but.... When I called back a second time the woman that answered said I was bringing rude and disrespectful....REALLY ! I didn't realize the place is so tiny from the inside since it looks larger for the outside as I have always driven by. The location is rather odd to get into the parking lot since you need to on the way right side of the street as you drive fast down Milwaukee heading towards downtown. It's not a issue if you really wants to get there. I have never stopped I there until today. They are nice and good choice of burgers, wings and more. The food it decent although higher priced than expected and since worth to give it a try. There isn't many food places like this in the surrounding 1 mile except super dogs which is different. I could read the menu easily since it rather dimly lit. If they have an online menu, I would take a look at that first. The back door was stuck and it was hard to open. I couldn't imagine if that would be a fire hazard since it took a big push to get out and it seemed as I escaped for a locked cage since it was hard to open. After eating, I get a bit drained although it could have been the heavy oils on fried fries. It since not a bad place and I would give it a shot when you have time to drop in. read more

I've driven by this place a gazillion times. Thanks to everything else closed for Easter, I had my chance to go! Parking entrance located a little west on Devon, or northwest on Milwaukee. They also have a nice outdoor patio, that'll I'll need to check out when it gets warm, although my hesitation is that its smack dab on the busy intersections of Milwaukee and Devon. But it's nice to have the option to eat outside. This place has a fast-food setup; menus are posted overhead of the cash registers. Order your food, pick a spot to sit, and they'll bring your food to ya. They have two of them fancy Coke product dispenser machines. Food comes out pretty fast (under 10 minutes). I ordered the grilled chicken platter, which consisted of two thinly sliced ~4oz chicken breast, choice of two sides, and garlic bread for about $11. It was a decently valued deal. For the two sides, I went with a baked potato and rice. The rice was more of like a Spanish rice. The chicken was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was really good! The baked white potato was huge! Definitely a large potato. It came with butter and sour cream (which I just left alone). The Spanish rice was decent, but I didn't finish it -- it was about a cup and a half of rice. Garlic bread? On point. It was two pieces of elongated bread (not texas toast) and had a nice crunch to it. Place your chicken breast in between them bread and you got yo-self a sammich! Oh, platter also comes with a piece of lettuce, raw onions, and a tomato too. After you're done, don't forget to put away your empty/dirty plates! A little confusing on whether to leave the plate on the table, but you'll see a garbage can with tray holder at the back of the dining area. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located all the way in the back, there is a single-person bathroom for men and women each. The men's bathroom was pretty modern and well-kept. I've gotta say I pass this restaurant nearly everyday and today was the day for me to give it a try and from the minute I walked in I was pleasantly greeted. I didn't take the girl who took my orders name but she was fantastic. Then spoke with the manager Zed who was amazing with his recommendations courteous and informative. Now for the food I ordered the ribeye steak sandwich that was so delicious & ordered my son a philly steak sandwich with just grilled onions and mozzarella cheese went to take a photo and was gone before I could've. Lastly a super gyro that was just ok. And I can't forget the fresh cut fries I've failed you again with pictures of the food that's how fresh and yummy everything was. Walked in and heard the HVAC whistling, restaurant seating area was cold, and it was over 60 degrees out. Put my order in and mentioned that I didn't like an excess amount of condiments. Asked for my burger to be medium. Got a runny slidey undercooked cheeseburger. Wasn't sure how to handle the splatburger--no room in the basket to avoid a puddle of grease. The less than charming woman at that counter, who may be an owner, indicated they couldn't cut the burger in the kitchen--even though I hadn't touched it. The burger wasn't that hot, temperature wise, and was undercooked. Miss Charm School Dropout tried to explain what "medium" meant. A little pink in the center, yes. Raw meat through most of the burger, no. I don't like ground meat that seriously undercooked. I also prefer having some of the grease pressed out. Was worried about e-coli the rest of the night. The burger was so greasy, that I didn't even bother with the fries. The cup for the pop wasn't that big and you could only get one refill. I tend to like more ice in my drinks. Doubtful that I'd go back. Yes it's a burger, but it doesn't need to go splat with all the grease and excess condiments flying out of it. read more

I went and picked it up, surprised by its location. It basically is a corner. The staff was real friendly. I should learn to take pictures but the gyro was so delicious and overfull of meat. We did a Door Dash delivery from Blaze-N-Grill a few weeks ago. It was our first time trying it. My summary? Overall pretty good, but next time I'll skip the Polish. Our order arrived quickly, early in fact, which is always a plus. It was after 8pm when I ordered, which may have helped, but we always appreciate quick service! The mozzarella sticks were very good, as was the warm marinara that came with them. I could almost make a meal just out of these. As I'd hinted above, my Polish Sausage was disappointing -- like an out-of-the-grocery-store package, that I could have cooked at home myself. I guess with a name like Blaze-N-Grill, I'd expected it to arrive charred, and be more like a real Polish Sausage and less like something out of a package. My husband, on the other hand, ordered the Merkt's Cheddar Burger (single, medium, hold the onions and tomatoes), and said it was excellent. So the next time I'll try the burger, and leave the Polish to places like Portillo's and Papa Chris's, who both do an excellent job with these. Overall, we'll definitely order from them again, I'll just skip the Polish! read more

I have driven by Blaze-N-Grill dozens of times. They have solid reviews so I thought I would check it out. It's a small restaurant on a triangular site where Milwaukee Ave intersects with Devon. As the name suggests they have a ton of different grilled foods. Everything from burgers, ribs, gyros, chicken, Philly cheesesteak, Italian beef, Italian sausage, steak sandwiches. They also have salads and hand cut fries Blaze-N-Grill has a lunch special from 11am-3pm. If you buy a sandwich for an extra dollar you can get either hand cut fries or salad along with a soda drink or bottle water. One healthier the other not so healthy. When I went in the I was the only one there as it was about 1/2 an hour before noon. The girl working the register was very nice and helpful in making suggestions about what to order when she found out I was a virgin (yes it was my first time there). They are known for their burgers so I decided to try a cheddar bacon cheese burger. After I placed my order and was waiting the place began to fill up with hungry customers. Now burger places are a dime a dozen with a far range of different toppings that can go on the burger. There burgers are fairly simple in addition the cheese & bacon I got lettuce, tomato & grilled onions. Even though they are fairly simple they are delicious. The meat quality is very good. The chicken options are my favorite, including the grilled chicken platter that seriously has enough food for two meals. Anytime my parents come to town, they want to go here. After myself, middle brother and stepfather visiting my mom in nursing home in Glenview and driving back to the city on Milwuakee Avenue, I had passed this place a couple of times and finally decide to stop in for a look see. We all ordered the gyro sandwich with all the fixings and fries and medium drink. Just what the doctor ordered. Sandwich was stacked with lots of meat and plenty of fries. To say we were all hungry because we all had a very light breakfast was an understatement. We all finished our meals leaving only a few remnants of fries. Just picked a supper Gyro platter. The rice wasn't cooked. There was grizzle in the meat (didn't even know that was possible!), definitely less meat then the first time we ordered, the lemon soup was greasy, and how do only give one pita with a super platter?
