I am Here for national pie day and although I was given coupons for free pizza if purchase one, and another coupon for a pizza half off.... I'm frustrated to see that the employee at the door told us there couldn't take anymore orders yet the profile and establishment both say they close at 10PM! This is inexcusable considering that there are not too many blaze pizzas around and we drove here for dinner, knowing we had more than an hour to order our food and eat here. I come to this location frequently and the services varies although the quality of the pizzas do not. I love Blaze because it's unique. I cannot eat tomato sauce because of health issues I have so I get the pesto. I love that option and my pizza still taste good. I've had plenty of mistakes with my order but I call and the manager there is very nice and replaces them. I still go because I like this location and the service is nice and quick. Depending on the time of the day it could be a little crowded but that's because it's near a college. As far as Covid, you are able to sit inside. They have some tables blocked but it's still enough seating. As far as parking they have curbside which is convenient I do that most of the time I order. Since I was in the area, I decided to stop by Blaze for some pizza. I've already have had their pizza at the Cumberland location. I loved the pizza but disliked the service. My daughter was excited to try Blaze since she's been asking for a gluten free vegan cheese pizza. Unlike the Cumberland location, the Decatur location is open at 11 am. We were the first ones to walk in. They weren't exactly ready yet but it was okay but they were attentive and nice. We both got gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. However, mine was filled with veggies whiles hers had meat, she was going paleo on hers. Again, vegan cheese takes longer to melt but when we got ours, we were stoked. They asked if we wanted "toppings" on ours. I didn't even get asked that question at the Cumberland location! We didn't put any on ours. Maybe next time. Pizza is delicious. Excellent customer service. The restaurant didn't have gluten free so the manager offered a cauliflower pizza with a discount. Turned out to taste better than the regular gluten free. Pizza was just OK... They don't change gloves in between making pizzas and this is a problem for vegetarians since you do not want to have meat touching your food. Also, they use the same pizza cutter to cut meat and vegetarian pizzas without cleaning it. Lastly, they keep some cheese next to the meat and meat drops in and mixes with the cheese, defeating the point of trying to eat healthy as a vegetarian.,Spoke to the manager about this and he seemed sympathetic and said he would try and make some adjustments. read more

I absolutely love pizza spots like this. This was even better because it had so many options even for the dough. Not the typical options that you're thinking of when you say dough like thin crust, pan, Etc but options like gluten free which I know makes many people happy. They even had vegan cheese. How exciting is that!?! They have a pretty decent selection of vegetables to go on the pizza which was highly exciting to me being that most of the time pizza spots tend to have a ton of meats as options and I've never been a fan of meat on pizza. The price is decent. I don't think they have anything over $10 so it's not a big deal to get separate pizzas for everyone. And they are a little bigger than personal pan sized so you might not want to share. That way everyone can get their pizza the way they like it and we don't have to worry about any complaints from little people or picky eaters. There's plenty of seating in the inside and I believe even a few seats on the outside. Very sleek, stylish, interior, clean, and very friendly staff. Blaze on 17th & Northside Dr. - some days good, other days HORRIBLE. Recently ordered online to avoid the usually very long wait. Not only was the Green Stripe pizza missing garlic & peppers, it was also hard and cooked like flatbread instead of pizza. Additionally, 1. The young male employee was extremely rude and dismissive from the moment I stepped to the counter. 2. He was confused about my order; couldn't seem to find the ticket. 3. I told him my name, and the 2 pizzas ordered. 4. I watched him take my pizzas out of the oven. Then HE WALKED AWAY and began helping 2 customers who came up after me. 5. When asked did he find my order he said yes, and then continued doing something else. 6. Meanwhile my pizzas were getting cold. So I asked if those were my pizzas. He said yes, and proceeded to do everything except box my pizzas. 7. After several minutes I told him I was confused about what was happening, and why instead of boxing my pizza he chose to assist another customer who walked in the store after me. 8. Bored with the usual pizza options I came here after researching (on Yelp) new pizza places in the area and I have to say that this is now my favorite pizza spot. The caution is the same that goes with any restaurant that allows you to create your own dish; you have to select complimentary items and flavor so that your meal can be enjoyable. Needing pizza in my life, I visited Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, while I was in the general area. Fairly new restaurant that on a Thursday evening was slam busy and barely any room for seating. If you're unfamiliar with the Blaze model, which is pretty similar to the Your pie model, this is a make your own pizza place. The draw for many is the "unlimited toppings" on your personal pie. I decided on the Signature Pizza ($8.25), which basically is a make your own pie. While toppings are unlimited, there's only so much you can add to a thin crust pizza, so keep that in mind if you fill up on certain toppings. Dough You start here. They give you by default the classic dough, but you can also choose the gluten free or high rise dough for $2 more. All dough is freshly made daily. I got the default dough. Sauces The choices of their sauces are red sauce, spicy, pesto or red sauce dollups. Not a menu option, but I got a mix of pesto and red sauce. Toppings I chose were shredded Mozarella cheese, turkey sausage, red pepper, italian sausage, mushrooms, red onions, kalamata olives and roasted garlic, but there were several toppings to choose from...almost too many to choose from. From there, the pizza is placed in a brick oven, you pay and you wait for your name to be called. Cook time takes about 8 minutes or so, and they do call your name, slice and box (if it's to go) your pizza all at a pick up station. Drizzles Unlike your pie, they have a drizzle station where you can hit your pie with a topping sauce. Those sauces include: Ranch, bbq sauce, buffalo sauce, olive oil, pesto, and fat free balsamic. You can also throw some arugula on at the end too. I decided on the Pesto drizzle I love the flavors here. Very bright, very flavorful, and each bite was pretty consistent. What I didn't like all that much was the actual crust. With thin crust pies, I like my crust crispy. Other competitors make it that way, but at Blaze, it's much more soft. I get that this is a preferences thing, because some people love that soft crust. Service at blaze, despite the long lines was fast. Again, the cook time isn't bad at under 10 minutes. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, although this evening there were more than one large group taking tables. I still did find a table though, and most of the outdoor tables were open. Located in the emory commons that has several shops, most notable being the publix grocery store, blaze is directly across from Publix. There is parking directly in front of blaze, but you're likely going to have to park in the communal lot that all the shops share/use, which isn't bad really. There is at least a red light exit here and multiple entrances/exits I like Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza. It definitely fills a void that has been missing in the area, and beyond filling it, they bring great flavors to boot. Nevermind that this is currently the only location in the state of GA! I'd definitely recommend stopping on in, getting a personal pie for dinner or sharing it with a friend. Whatever the case, just come and support these guys! read more

This pizza spot earns four and a half stars. If they sold beef I would give it five. This pizza place is such an original idea that's cost-effective! All pizzas are the same size for the same price. I love that you can watch them build your pizza as you tell them what toppings you'd like. They also have a variety of sauce other than red such as pesto and cream sauce. You pick your pizza up when it's done, which doesn't take long at all. You serve and seat yourself. They have a variety of toppings, just wasn't sure why there's no beef. Also love the option of being able to get a gluten free crust. Overall, a very great pizza concept, fresh, hot, delicious and made the way you like it. And most of all the price Is right. Who knew that a "build your own pizza assembly line" could actually taste good? Blaze Pizza was a nice surprise, delivering fresh, hot pizza that bakes up in just 3 minutes thanks to the 600 degree ovens. The chain started in Florida, and LeBron James is a part owner and franchisee in several locations throughout Florida and Ohio. There are some great videos on YouTube where he works undercover at one of his restaurants posing as an employee. Warning: This place is all about choices. If you're an indecisive person, this place might push you over the edge and make you crazy!!! :) But don't worry. Grant, the manager, along with all of the employees, were extremely kind and helpful and made the process a breeze. You can either choose one of their specialty pies or you can opt to build your own pizza, which includes unlimited toppings at a flat rate. They also have special pricing available if you only want a classic cheese pizza or would only like to add one or two toppings (they call it a "1 top pizza" and a "2 top pizza"). The first life changing decision (at least as far as your pizza is concerned!) is selecting the dough. They offer three different dough's to choose from - original, high rise ( a thicker dough), and gluten free. Once you've made this monumental decision, additional decisions await you at every turn, from selecting the sauce (classic red, spicy red, white cream, and garlic pesto) to multiple cheese options (eight in total), which even include a vegan cheese option that is soy free! They have plenty of classic meat options that notably include turkey meatballs. An even larger array of veggies await you that includes everything from sauteed onions and roasted garlic to spinach, zucchini, and everything in between! I tried two pizza's. For pizza number one I went with the thicker high-rise crust and piled up lots of veggie toppings. The pizza was definitely above average and I enjoyed it. However, I thought the "high-rise" option was too doughy, as though they had stuck two pizzas together. Waaaaay too much piled in there as though someone was carb-loading for a race! For pizza number two I went classic New York style by getting the original crust coupled with lots of cheese and a spicy red sauce. This one fared much better without a pound of extra dough! It tasted great, especially considering this is somewhat of a "fast food" pizza place. The bottom line: If you learn nothing else from this review, stick with the original crust!! In fact, all of the employees that I spoke with confided that they also prefer the classic crust over the high-rise. Do NOT make the same mistake I did by reheating your pizza in the microwave. Although the microwave usually does the trick, this time the pizza came out limp and unappetizing. In fact, the Blaze website says to reheat the pizza in an oven on top of tinfoil. Lesson learned. Next time I will definitely heed their advice! Pizzas are 11 inches and contain six slices. It was much more filling than I expected. Take out can be ordered online or through their app, and allows you to bypass the line. You can simply go up to the counter and pick up your order. All in all, if you're looking for fast, customized pizza, this place is a great new option. I will definitely be back! read more

Blaze pizza has finally come to Georgia! How fortunate are we that Blaze decided to come to Decatur where it's greater first! I had such a pleasant first experience here at Blaze. I'm so upset I didn't visit/appreciate them while I was living in Florida because they opened there first, but now I get to visit them here in good ole Decatur. My boyfriend and I decided to check them out for a little post workout pizza to fuel the gainz. They're located inside the Publix plaza and this location replaced the old Evans restaurant that used to be there. I honestly feel like the blaze building itself sticks out like a sore thumb in the area that it's in now because the modern architecture doesn't go with the surrounding plaza/businesses that look like they came straight out of the 80s, but I'm hoping that this will mean better and modern renovations are soon to come to the area to keep up with the times. The parking will be crazy and outrageous depending on the time/day you decide to go because the Publix itself gets really busy so getting in and out may be a little tedious, but don't let that hinder you from stopping by to try their pizza because it's so good. Blaze started over in the West Coast and has been making it's way over to the East Coast as well. They advertise that it takes 180 seconds to fire up each pizza, and it really is that fast! The employees were all quick on their feet and got out so many pizzas in a matter of moments. Pretty awesome. All of the employees were so friendly, professional, and helpful. I love it, and I really hope they stay that way because honestly the Atlanta Metro area could use more restaurants with happy and professional employees. Ordering was really easy, and it's all thanks to the staff. They have signature pizzas that you can choose from, or you can build your own pizza! I've never really been to a "build-your-own" pizza place or any pizza place like this, and I'm usually not one to make the effort to build my own anything because I usually hate the interaction I have to go through to build my own meal, but the staff was so friendly and approachable I took the leap! They have so many different sauces, cheeses, meats/proteins, and vegetables to choose from, and they were all fresh! I thoroughly enjoyed my pizza, and we actually ordered to-go, but one of the employees (I'm assuming he was a manager maybe...sorry I didn't get his name!) suggested that we go ahead and have a bite while we had them fresh, and I'm glad we did! I also ordered the pesto cheese bread I I don't know what the hell they gave me but it look like what is supposed to be some melted cheese on really overly dry down with no pesto on it at all not even a drop of green sauce on it it was disgusting! It looked like melted plastic on stale bread. Again not what I ordered. The doll alone look like what they were trying to do was make it oven roasted so that the bread will it toasty and fresh bait they might as well put that damn go inside of my daughters easy bake oven. The red sauce was all smeared sloppy all around the crust who does that? and the green peppers looked pale and old. this pizzeria is located in what seems to be a very prestigious area I don't see how none of the residents they are having to complain about this place. When I learned that Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza and Starbucks would be coming to the Emory Commons intersection at the former locations of Evans Fine Foods, the first thing that sprang to mind was the claymation video for "Don't Get Captured" by Run the Jewels. If you have a minute and you're not averse to NSFW material, go to YouTube and check it out. At about the 1:05 mark, the old neighborhood is torn down and up springs the three harbingers of gentrification: an upscale coffee/tea shop, a craft ale pub, and--you guessed it--a pizza-oven restaurant boasting their vegan and gluten-free ingredients that allow trim-waisted millennials to indulge guilt-free. Did this area need a pizza joint? Well, it sure could have used a breakfast destination a good deal more; despite the number of eateries this area features, McDonald's has been the only early a.m. option since Evans closed a couple its doors a couple years back. Then again, I'm one of the many locals who feel that the nearby Rocco's New York Pizza has been phoning it in for too long in regards to both service and food quality. So, I figure Blaze deserves a fair chance to set a new standard. And so do a lot of other people. Thanks to social-media savviness, Decaturites have fully discovered Blaze in the course of less than a week, and it's teeming with suburbanites whose hyperactive rugrats use the guard rail in front of the counter as makeshift monkey bars. This is definitely not a dive like Rocco's. It has a distinctly metro look and feel, with customers receiving big, warm smiles and helpful explanations from whatever the pizza-parlor equivalent of a barista is. It's a fine atmosphere, and there's a good amount of room for seating, especially if the weather is nice enough to sit outside. Blaze touts itself on delivering pizza both fresh and fast. While they offer several configurations (mostly veggie-heavy), just skip those and go straight to the build-your-own option. It's essentially assembly-line preparation, much like how other places let you customize a burrito, a poke bowl, or a hero sandwich. Pick a sauce, move down. Pick a cheese, move down. Pick toppings, pay up. The great thing here is that currently there's a flat price for what is, apparently, unlimited toppings. Of course, a pizza will not cook well if it is oversaturated, so bear that in mind before you go hog-wild. Is it good? Well, I like pizza with thin crust, low amounts of oil in the pan, and--most critical of all--it must be served piping hot. To me, that last critical item makes it a real shame that people have gotten so used to having big franchises deliver pizza to their door. Maybe the owners of Blaze agree, because they don't do delivery. Bully for them. They use very thin crust and a very hot oven to get pizzas in and out of the oven quickly. Nonetheless, Blaze's pizza does not come out as steamy hot and full of gooey richness as I'd hoped, even though it does have a perfect sear on its wafer-thin bottom. They'll see a fair amount of my business, I suspect. Especially once that Starbuck's opens up. However, I'm in walking distance, so I don't have to deal with the parking situation. It bears mentioning that sharing a lot with a Publix-anchored shopping center means that spaces are in demand pretty relentlessly. read more

Overall, I'm a fan. I'm surprised build-your-own pizza hadn't become a thing sooner; so I'm glad Blaze has arrived in Atlanta, and it's hopefully here to stay. When they say build-your-own, they really mean build-your-own. From the dough to sauce to the toppings, you can really experiment with as many combinations of toppings as you like for less than $10. They also have some pre-set combinations on the menu if you don't trust yourself with so much [choosing] power. Once you're done picking toppings, the huge pizza oven is where all the magic happens; waiting is not really an issue even during busier hours because the oven can fit alot of personal pizzas at once. The pizza itself comes out pretty good, and it's a decent size for a personal portion. It's thinner than your Papa John's / Domino's pizza, but I wouldn't call it a thin-crust pizza. I haven't tried their high-rise dough; so maybe that's a different story. The oven finish is always a nice touch. Really good! I'm from the upper east coast that predominantly has &pizza as the customizable (vegan-option) pizza chain, but I was a bit surprised, and happy, to find this! The pizza's are just shy of $10 for a personal make-your-own pizza! I made mine with a spicy tomato base, vegan cheese, vegan chorizo, spinach, pineapple, and bbq sauce (spicy as well)! Definitely worth a try. I was debating between this and a different, fully vegan pizza place that was about $20-25 per, but I'm so glad I came here! read more

I want to give this place more stars, but the customer experience has really made me not want to. First off, the pizza is great. Pricing is great for what you get. I love the fact what the pizza is cooked into the fire oven and gives it that nice roast and you can customize it to your liking. BUT THIS ESTABLISHMENT SHOULD NOT TAKE IN WALK-IN CUSTOMERS IF THEY'RE FULLY FOCUSED ON ONLINE ORDERS. From what I've learned in retail, focus on the guests who are in front of you. When I came it, it wasn't even busy at all (foot traffic wise). I was like the second person in line. As I stood in front of the employees, I wasn't greeted and completely ignored because they were too busy lining up online orders. I waited about 5 minutes until they acknowledged me. I was still patient by then. Like honestly, it was okays. BUT THEY SOMEHOW MANAGED TO LOSE MY PIZZA IN THE MIDST OF ONLINE CRAZINESS? I waited 45 minutes for nothing... just waiting, because apparently they lost my pizza. The workers noticed I haven't received my pizza but yet did not check on it for me. He asked if everything was okays, and I said I didn't have my pizza yet (20mins after ordering) and he said it should be coming soon. I continued to wait another 25mins before I got up. It wasn't until I literally stood in front of the cashier for like 5 minutes for her to say something to me because I wasn't going to be rude and butt in while she was in the middle of something. When I told her I did not receive my pizza, her and the district manager began to sort through the orders and they couldn't find my name anywhere. Like... helloooo. You've seen me sit there pizza-less for like 45mins and didn't say anything? They have even made eye contact with me while I was waiting and they still didn't even bother. That's because of the online orders and I get it, you're swamped. But they didn't even apologize for the mishap or offer anything to make up for it. I had to stand back in line when it got really busy and wait all over again. I was not a happy camper. The pizza was definitely not worth the wait. Do yourself a favor... ORDER ONLINE. Don't even bother walking in. I learned you get your stuff faster when you do it online because that's what they only care about. read more

SUPERB JUJUHonestly the pizza I've had literally in the world. Food is so fresh and the kitchen/dining area/ bathrooms are flawless. Big shout out to the manager Jordan --exceptional guy--warm, friendly kind--Jordan goes above and beyond to run and oversee a professional fun environment and all around excellent restaurant. Jordan motivates his staff to deliver a top notch experience which they do with great joy. North Decatur Blaze is one of those unique restaurants where it's so fun to watch the activity in the kitchen and it's so pleasant to dine in that it's hard to motivate myself to leave myself to leave long after I've finished eating. I get so mesmerized watching everything that I want to work behind the counter and be part of the action. Then again I'm already a part of it because I'm recognized, welcomed and made to feel special each time I drop by. So glad I have this opportunity to provide feedback on this location of Blaze and recognize Jordan and his team at Blaze North Decatur. read more

I'm really picky about pizza. This was pretty good- I was able to get my "simple" with light sauce. The Husband got the Spicy Chorizo , and said it was good- just the right amount of heat. We'd come back-way more convenient from home than going into Atlanta. read more
