This store is located on Rt. 22 in Monroeville, the old Long John Silvers. Good pizza with fresh ingredients that's prepared in front of you. The pizza is on the small side at 11 inches. Not the most filling pie. Service is average, not the most friendly staff. Pretty much just going through the motions. Clean restaurant for the most part. The kids enjoy watching the process from the building of the pie to the cooking of it. It's a cafeteria style process from entering and ordering from the right side of the restaurant and leaving through the other side. Self serve fountain drinks and some bottled drinks are available Limited desserts available including cookies, brownies, and a cinnamon bread. Usually leave wanting more. It's easy to spend over $25 for two and still wanting more. There are a few combo specials available but not great deals for family's of 3 or more. Just an average meal and service. Purchased a 7-ingredient build your own large pie with all vegan ingredients. Received a pie with burnt crust, barely any vegan cheese, no artichokes (the first of 7 selected toppings), and a non-ordered pepperoni. Normally I would forgive the rogue meat-stick byproduct, but I selected the "glove change request" option, which I never would have thought to request, but figured, "why not?," since it was an option provided. I couldn't help but think the pepperoni was an f-you from the cook. I hope that isn't the case, but will always wonder. read more

I have been coming to Blaze Pizza in Monroeville since their opening in 2016 and I have updated my reviews for this establishment more than any other mainly because of inconsistencies and changes not on the good side. In the beginning, management's presence was more apparent and present. Staff walked around to check on customers, the place was kept tidy, staff smiled and engaged with the customer. Since opening, the changes have been: * Elimination of turkey meatballs * Elimination of roasted garlic, replaced by raw garlic that doesn't cook up the same * Much greasier pizza (i always get spicy red sauce with pesto drizzled on top) * Prices go up regularly starting at 7 something for build your own to 11.95 as of this post * They charge $1 extra for extra protein. Mind you i only get 1 option, a meatball, for my protein on a build your own. I selected 2 meatballs snd now get charged an extra $1 so my pizza is 12.95. How does this make sense? In other words, if i select one each of proteins offered, that is ok and no extra charge but select only 2 meatballs and I have to pay extra. Note they tried this once before and quickly rescinded this policy. * The cleanliness of the interior and exterior has been on the decline for ages. * In the beginning there were signs touting 90 second turnaround for pizzas cooking in the oven. Ordered Blaze using Uber Eats and it was a disaster. Our uber driver arrived with just the pizzas. We ordered a salad and a side of meatballs which we didn't get. Apparently the Uber Eats driver asked "is that everything?" And Blaze gave the thumbs up. So not quite sure where the disconnect is - I do believe it's between both parties. Uber Eats has our order and so does Blaze, so you tell me who dropped the ball with not including the salad and meatballs with our order. My pizza was also missing the ranch drizzle. My personal opinion, if you want your order 100% correct, go in-person. So we pretty much got ripped off our $60 order because we did not receive our salad and meatballs. Do not rely on Uber Eats and the staff to make your delivery when you are not present. read more

Delicious pizza! You can order online or in the app, but ordering in person is more reliable, and a lot more fun. The staff is great -- friendly and knowledgeable. You can see your pizza being made. You can also see it being cooked in the open-front wood-fired oven, which can be a bit mesmerizing. (You don't have to watch it cook. You can instead have a seat, and they'll call you when it's ready.) The location is clean, and there's an outdoor seating area, too. I remember when this location was a Long John Silver's. I was a bit bitter when it closed and sat empty for a while and then taken over with this. I didn't want to stop in here for a very long time. But with being out with family recently and they wanting pizza, we came here. I knew the concept of this place, basically Subway/Chipotle for pizza. I didn't know the menu at all, and it can be a bit intimidating when it is your first visit here. Lucky for us there were a few people in line in front of us and that allowed for us to look over the menu a bit more. When I got to the counter to order I was set to go. I wanted to start with the Cheesy Pesto Garlic Bread and for the main event I went with a pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The thing I like about this model is that it's not a computer screen where you are typing it in and adding/subtracting. Instead you can see them make it in front of you. Asking if you want this or that and the amount of any particular ingredient. Right before the pizza is ready and goes into the oven they will ask you if you want to add anything else. The only thing I could think was to add oregano. Here is where they have a little bit of a hiccup in the system. When you order, and if you order multiple things that go in the oven, they are usually written down together so that your order goes through the line. But when it is pulled out of the oven, it doesn't always mean that it is all together. Couple that with the person pulling out the pizzas isn't the loudest person calling your name. My cheesy bread came out first and I heard my name for that. However, when my pizza was ready I did not hear my name. I think it may have sat there for a good minute before they even thought to call my name. In the end, I got my pizza, so all was good. The freshest pizza I have had in a long time. I know it's a chain, but they are doing some impressive things. They have sprinkling agents for your choosing. I went with the grated parm, my dad went with the hot pepper flakes. Obviously it was way too much to order so I ended up taking more than half of it home with me. It wasn't bad the second time around either. A little gripe I have here is they are absolutely straw free. That's is all great, but if you are going to give cups with lids that have openings for drinking, maybe have them behind the counter instead of out for everyone to grab. read more

I have no complaints about this Blaze Pizza location! We stopped in after a family party in Monroeville and were excited to see they were open. I haven't been over this way in a while, but remember this used to be a Long John Silvers. There were a few customers in line, but the employees were super efficient at keeping everyone moving. I love that you can add as many toppings as you want for no extra charge. I love the fresh mozzarella and ricotta! I added all of the veggies and arugula on top after they cook it. Ive been to Blaze pizzas all over the country. This is the worst. Horrible customer service. They advertise a build your own pizza then charge you extra for the portions. The manager was the worst Ive ever seen in any business. She litterally counted the pepperoni on my build your own pizza then charge $3 for more then 8 pieces. Then made a huge seen and told me she would just throw my pizzas in the trash. Then started yelling at me. This was complete discrimination. Misleading customers then charging them for things not advertised. So can get a build your own pizza and get a portion of every single topping with no extra charge but if I get a build your own with pepperoni and sausage and want more pepperoni then they charge extra for getting more then 8 pieces of pepperoni. The service was not good at all. The girl building our pizza was being really rude. We did a half and half pizza which was recommended but then it went down hill. She was not listening to us at all and kept ignoring us when we weren't done. She also gave us the stink eye a lot of times and was giving an attitude. The pizzas are good. They're made to order with the toppings of your choosing. It's one price, whether you want three toppings or ten. It doesn't matter if you want vegan, gluten free, or all meat, they can make it. They also have salads and desserts. The only reason I knocked it down a star was because it took forever to get waited on. We were just about to leave when someone finally came over. There was a guy at the pizza oven, a woman at the register, and another woman on the phone. I always do the build your own and often switch up which crust, the high rise is great if you want a fluffier crust and their regular crust is great as well. We came in here as a family to eat dinner. Our kids love pizza so we thought we would give it a try. They are pretty picky and did OK with it. If you're bringing someone/kids for the first time, if they are adventurous, you should be fine. Our kids, like I said, it was ok but they loved the desserts! The line moved quickly. I went in the Monroeville Blaze tonight around 8:10p as I was waiting to order the staff started talking about they were closing in a hr so they needed to speed it up,several people ordered after me. I get to the register pay and added a tip, only for them to burn my pizza and not say anything to me, I started to realize that the people who ordered 10 min after me got called and received their pizza, the so called person in charge sd he wasn't the manager he was at home, took my receipt and refunded me didn't ask could they remake it didn't apologize treated me with sarcasm and disrespect he basically said oh well I refunded your 15.09 which is crazy in the 1st place I didn't have any protein. I let the poor behavior of the staff which is constantly changing slide the last time I received terrible service, but tonight my blood sugar dropped and I needed to get something to eat instead of driving home to cook. I hate eating out the young people are so disrespectful it's really sad that they can't do their job but wanna prompt the customer to leave a tip. Love Blaze! I started eating here about 3 years ago and love the white top pizza!!! The amt of toppings and seasonings that are available to you and as much as you want at your request is everything!!! I love that they have Gluten Free Pizza crust. I do a BYO pizza with the GF crust & it is a dream. This is the first GF crust that I have found & actually enjoyed. Definitely would recommend if your GF or not! So many toppings to choose from. read more

Blaze has really gone down hill in the last couple of visits, but the real dealbreaker for me is how they handled my most recent visit (where I went home with no dinner). I still never got a refund. I ordered a BBQ Chicken Pizza with no blue cheese. I ordered online. When we come get our pizzas, there is no chicken on it. Ok, cool. We run back in and wait for another. The manager makes it so we are sure it's going to be ok. Once I get home, there's blue cheese on the pizza. I'm allergic. It's too late to go back. We try to call but they are closed. I submit a ticket online and all I get is a "sorry, we will let them know." Seriously? I had no dinner and I paid for it. Even a refund would have been nice. Not sure what kind of business does that. The pizza was good however the sauce was a bit sweet for my taste. The crust was perfect and the cheese was plenty and it had the right amount of spices not over bearing. Would I buy it again? Absolutely however the next time I'll ask for light sauce. The employees were courteous and kind, the facility was clean, and the bottom of the pizza did not have that burnt texture that comes from a dirty oven. This place was great ! My husband , daughter and I stopped here for a bite to eat while running Monroeville errands . The ordering was pretty fun for my daughter , as she enjoyed choosing what she wanted and watching them create the pizza . The workers seemed pretty nice and knowledgeable about the process which made for an easy and smooth order. My husband asked for no onions in his meat lovers pizza but ended up still get onions . That being said , it happens and it was totally fine . Plain pizza , meat lovers pizza and a veg pizza with 3 beverages was about 30 bucks . Not bad at all. Atmosphere was pretty chill and the pizza ended up being delicious . Obviously if you're looking for a fully loaded , thick crust top notch pizza - you'd be silly to come here and demand that kind of product. I really like the idea of this place. I really like that they have vegan and gluten free options and I love how fast it is. I enjoy the spicy sauce and the vegan cheese. However, the bar itself can become absolutely disgustingly dirty. They do not clean it off and the toppings, cheeses and meats fly all over the place. There were cheese crumbles in the sauce and the toppings were everywhere. I nearly turned around and walked out but instead I asked if there was a way I could get some fresh sauce and the pizza maker said yes and got some from the fridge. The vegan cheese had a lid on it. If these two things didn't happen I would have turned around and gave this place 1 star. It's pretty unacceptable and they need to change it. That being said, the pizza is good. It's a nice place inside. Everyone is friendly enough. I think that I have tried almost all new pizza concepts, so I wasn't really knocked out that much about a joint where your pizza bakes in 180 seconds. Blah, blah, blah! Well, I was extremely surprised by how much I liked the food at Blaze Pizza. Blaze is not an artisanal pizza place and that's okay. It fills the void between the local pizza joint/artisanal places and the "normal" chain store pizza restaurants. The quality and the variety of the ingredients are DEFINITELY better at Blaze than they are chain restaurants and quite a number of local restaurants. And, get this, the prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. Seriously! I just took my daughter to Blaze the other day for our umpteenth visit since it opened and I was still amazed that I ordered a pizza with grilled chicken, pepperoni, salame, cherry tomatoes, roasted garlic, mushrooms, sautéed onions, spinach, zucchini, ovalini mozzarella, parmesan, mozzarella, white cream sauce and garlic pesto sauce. I am not particularly a fan of extremely thin crust so I opted for their slightly thicker crust and my bill came to less than $11. Fo real doh! That pizza would have been a gazillion dollars at another pizza joint and it wouldn't have tasted as fresh. When you have a high turnover of ingredients, you have a greater chance of having better quality and freshness. Blaze Pizza has that in spades. Me likey this restaurant and I think that you will too!
