Their website and online menu are very simple to navigate with tons of customization options available. The store is tucked unassumingly into a standard strip mall, but once entering.. this restaurant is a completely different vibe. Modern furnishings, updated decor, and very well cleaned.. you feel like you are entering a high scale restaurant!! You grab takeout from the bar in the back and the kitchen staff brings it out nice and hot! I also... unassumingly... stopped by and met Tiffany ... just as kind and sweet in person as you can read through her reviews. Anyway... back to the review... I ordered Shrimp Tempura and Hibachi Chicken with Fried Rice and a Salad. The Shrimp Tempura appetizer was four large shrimp with an insanely crisp and tasty coating and sauce! (These may be a go-to for this tempura lover!) The Hibachi Chicken was a massive portion of veggies and protein.. easily enough to split. The fried rice was fluffy and freshly fried!!! The restaurant was busy which always a good sign. My bonus son wanted to come for the sushi (he ordered the dragon boat sushi for 3 that he ate by himself). I didn't get a good picture of it. We just happened to be in the mood for sushi and found this little place in Monroeville! We ordered the gyoza, which was so full of flavor and crispy served with sweet chili sauce, shrimp tempura sushi, and we each had the chicken hibachi lunch special which was in my opinion the best I've had in a long time. We thought it would be a smaller portion for lunch but was pleasantly pleased to find out quite the opposite. Love this place! Good service, great food and vibe. The menu is lengthy, but everything sounded worth trying. The hibachi combo is a hefty portion, so plenty of leftovers from the meal. We stopped by on Friday night around 6pm and to our surprise there was a short line out the door even though they opened about a week ago. The inside consists of multiple tables and booths and I saw them accommodate parties of 2-8. They also did a fair amount of takeout. The food is an Asian fusion of dishes with steak, sushi, noodles, rice, hibachi, and many other options. While not necessarily the most authentic, it really hit the spot for us and everything we had was good for what it was and the prices were reasonable for the portions. The staff we interacted with were all wonderful. They were super busy but took time to answer questions and check in on us, even the servers who weren't assigned to our table. read more

Koi Steakhouse and Sushi is a newer place in Eastern Pittsburgh. I was honestly between 4 and 5 stars. I will start with the reasons for a 5 star review. The food was really good. This especially goes for the Sushi. We shared Yum-Yum, Shaggy Dog, and California Rolls. They are big and really tasty. The service was also excellent. We were there celebrating birthdays and the song and instruments were great. The reasons for not giving a five star review. The hibachi is not table side. No show, no fire, no volcano of onions, no catching shrimp in the servers hat. The hibachi does include several different options though. We had Yellowfin tuna. It is also small and loud. In the end, this is a really good, new restaurant in the area. The menu is extensive with lots of options to try. I will be back. read more

First and last time for us at this restaurant. We came to celebrate a birthday and didn't make a stink because of the birthday person. Service was good, place was clean, but if that is good hibachi cooking then I don't know what people would call bad. I can tell you that the filet mignon (medium) was NOT filet mignon!; it was so tough and chewy and was impossible to swallow. I asked for a sharp knife to cut it into smaller pieces and it was still impossible to chew. The chicken was not edible either; it was so hard, dry and tasteless. The sauce, that everything was cooked in, ruined it as well. Not our cup of tea at all and we went there because the reviews were so good. We all agreed later that we will not return! read more

Me and my 4 buddies stopped here for the first time after going to SteelCon. We weren't sure how to feel since it was around 3pm and the place was empty. We walk in and this place was spotless. The atmosphere is great and all the employees were so kind. Rafiki was our server, and he was very helpful with the menu, offering recommendations with prompt service. All of us had great meals with huge portions. I got a Sushi Bowl and the Green Tea Matcha Boba. Overall I would give this place a 10/10. Waiter took forever to take our order. 1st dinner came out fine, 2nd dinner came out 10 minutes later cold. Our waiter was too busy socializing to bring the 2nd dinner out hot. He also never checked on us. I flagged down another server to have our iced tea refilled. They did but failed to put ice in it. The tea was warmer than my cold dinner. We were his only table! It was 4pm on a Sat; there were 3 tables with guests and 3 servers. Our waiter was too busy talking to take care of us. We showed up early because we expected a bigger crowd, but it wasn't busy and we were seated immediately by a very friendly waiter. The dining room was well lit and very clean, and the booth seating comfortable enough. As is usually the case with places like this, the menu was extensive. Lots of choices, which mostly looked pretty good. I ordered egg roll to start because I love egg roll. These were OK. The wrapper was crispy but the filling was kind of mushy, leading me to believe that the egg rolls were not freshly made. Maybe they were frozen, I don't know. But all in all, they did not have a lot of flavor. Inside there was no color, just the gray of the cabbage. I would skip those next time. My date had bubble tea (mango) which she said was excellent. On to the entrees. My date had the hibachi steak, which came with a salad that was greens-only with some yellowish dressing. She liked it well enough. But she raved about the steak, saying that it was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The accompanying noodles and veggies were very nice, she said. I tried a bite of the steak, and can confirm. I ordered a red shrimp curry with Udon noodles. Soup was included, so I chose hot & sour. That's my favorite soup, but this was lukewarm and relatively flavorless. Nothing at all hot nor sour about it. When my curry arrived, it was yellow, not red as I had requested. But I wasn't about to complain or send it back. It didn't matter, because the flavor of the curry was outstanding. It had a nice spicy kick, with some onion and broccoli in there.
