Just finished eating my delicious pizza from blaze. It truly is the best pizza in Paso Robles. I love that most of the meat is sodium nitrate free, they use fresh vegetables and my pizza is always cooked perfectly. The staff is always friendly and they work fast to get your your pizza to you quickly. They do a good job keeping the place clean and the ambience is it's great for families. The pizza is fine and the service often includes a typical Gen Z stare. I don't know why there's vague "whatever" attitude every time I come in, but my biggest gripe is to do with the quality of the salads. They are sparse, full of oxidized lettuce, overpriced, and most recently, included a literal balsamic glaze, the same as what goes on the pizza, accompanying an inedible Greek salad. Said salad was stacked on top of hot pizza boxes, so add wilted to what characterized the experience. There is no clear phone number to call to inform about the experience, no contact form on the website, which is why I'm leaving a review here. read more

We had been driving for a couple of hours and needed to eat. Didn't really feel like going anywhere fancy, so maybe just a sandwich. We had just stopped at Target, and as we were leaving, I saw Blaze. I had never heard of it so I figured, why not? Plus that had outdoor seating. Friendly greeting, told him it was my first time, and he said "well, choose what you'd like and we'll get it to you." So I ordered a pizza with pepperoni. I didn't realize how they worked until I read about them later. They had soft drinks, beer, and wine in these cute little plastic cups, so I grabbed two of them. The pizza was ready pretty quick, and I read about their "blazing hot" oven, so that's pretty cool. The pizza was good. A few more pepperonis would've been nice, but the sauce was good, and the crust was decent. The wine was decent and hit the spot. We needed something to take off the edge since we'd been traveling and getting on each other's nerves...and hangry. My only complaint was that the outside chairs and tables could use a dust off. 11" and 14" sizes of ZA, that's about 8 slices to you and me. The 11" is perfect for about $15. BTW, in 2013, it was $7.45 for the same, but chalk up inflation, popularity, and the fricken pandemic and minimum wage increases. I like the concept. Direct someone to build a custom topping pizza for you as you point and grunt. Like if you're at Subway or Chipotle, order at the counter going down the line. When you say "That's it", pay at the cashier...and when your order is ready...they call your name to pick it up. It's quick -- done in about 7 minutes. They have the standard type of toppings, and gourmet ones, too, and guess what? You can have any toppings you like for that flat price. The crust is ultra thin, and it's good for the machine pressed dough! Improvement: in 2013 I rated another location "Tasteless. Slightly thicker than matzoh underneath." But now, I like it a lot. The price point is fair for a medium-size pizza. It's fast, it's nice in decor, and they're open late. Come on everyone, pizza is fun! Note: having it delivered is meh. Do not come here at all. Do not waste ur time. There's so many other places with better quality pizza and customer service. They hate explaining the doughs and specials they have. It's 6pm and they're out of half of their ingredients. No cheese?? How does a pizza place run out of cheese at 6pm?? That's ridiculous! No ranch for salad. So I ate a salad with no ranch. Why wouldn't they tell me there's no ranch before they take my money? Employees have no sense of customer service. First and last time I will ever come to blaze with my family. This place has gone downhill. Very skimpy on topping along with just not putting toping on the pizza. When asked about it, the answer was, "sorry the printer crumpled up the paper." We'd been in the Spectrum store for awhile and were talking about picking up something from El Pollo Loco afterward. But ... "Home Alone" was playing on their big screen, and you know the scene when Kevin orders the pizza that he gets to enjoy all to himself? Talk about subliminal messaging. So, now that we couldn't get pizza out of our heads, we decided to hit up Blaze. After hearing tales about the long lines, we were happy to catch them at a time when we could walk straight up to the counter and place our order. Our host provided us with excellent service, after which we seated ourselves at one of their clean tables. Moments later the steady stream of customers started coming in, but that didn't negatively impact the wait time for our order, which was maybe eight, nine minutes, max, and delivered right to our table. We shared a medium-sized, GF pepperoni, sausage and pineapple (yeah, and proud of it) pizza along with a Caesar salad. Salad was fresh, crunchy and good, but wow, were we genuinely surprised at how well made and delicious our pizza was. This was my first time going to a Blaze Pizza. I liked the place, it seemed clean. I loved the option of customizing your pizza. My kids and I thought the pizza was pretty decent. However, I would never return to this location due to how incredibly rude the lady was who was working this afternoon. She literally called my daughter "missy". She was very short and aggressive with us, and seemed like she actually not only hated her job but that she had disdain for us. My kids and I were shocked at the behavior. I don't know if she treats all the customers that way, but it was highly unprofessional, uncalled for, and unwarranted. I will never return to this location if we are going to be met with such hostility. Reading through previous reviews, it seems the owners don't train or hire employees to give any sort of good customer service. Good service goes a long way. If we had good service from a friendly staff member, we would want to return again and this review would have been much different. read more

Yikes. I am sure that they are understaffed, but we had a tough experience here. We ordered online, arrived on time, and watched our pizza and breadsticks sit, congealing, for 30-35 minutes after our order pickup time. They apparently made our whole order (my husband went in alone first, and so we didn't realize it until I came in to see what was up) and then just... never bothered to box it or the numerous other orders strewn around it getting cold despite us (and a growing crowd of other patrons also watching their food sit on a countertop) waiting around. We only saw a few single-pizza orders go out in that wait time, while a large volume of food was done and sitting. Our pizza, when we did finally get it, was completely cold, toppings were sparse, and quality was definitely not worth all of the hassle. We were missing items, but at that stage we just wanted to get out of there. I hope that they can get it together in the future. read more

Blaze Pizza is taking great care in protecting their employees & customers. A mask is required for entry, and social distancing is being enforced. All employees wear face coverings and gloves that are changed between each order. At this time there is limited indoor seating per county regulations, however they also have shaded outdoor tables for enjoying one's pizza. Take-away orders can be placed in-person, online or via their app. We are impressed how quickly and efficiently Blaze Pizza can turn out such a tasty pizza. As anyone would agree, teamwork is what makes any business or venture thrive. We were greatly impressed with the teamwork & coordination of the employees we saw at this location. The pizzas were of excellent quality, with superb flavor and quality ingredients. It's great to be able to select from many sauces, types of cheeses & selections of toppings, as well as different types of crusts. Their "Build Your Own" choice allows the customer to select unlimited amounts of any ingredient. It is then cooked super fast in a open flame pizza oven at 535°F. At most other places, the customer has no control over the final product that comes out of the oven. At Blaze Pizza, the customer is in total control. What a great concept. The prices are reasonable as well. Using their free app, one can accumulate points towards free pizzas, drinks & desserts. read more

The food from blaze is always decent but the service at this location was -100 From walking in and one associate being on his phone 6 minutes pass and then I was greeted, in a very off putting manner. Also where they hold meats & produce was filthy. 100% cross contamination. It's unfortunate because I've always had great experiences at blaze maybe this location can use some TLC. Ordered online and it was ready when I arrived, but my order was made wrong. No dressing with the salad, pizza was burnt and missing toppings. Literally had one piece of chicken on each piece. Service was nice, but for there being no other customers but one waiting for an order I do not find it acceptable to mess up an order when it is slow. read more

Local Take: Even though I am often in our North County to help with the vaccine effort & am usually famished after volunteering, I have found it rather pricey to eat in this area of SLO County since I am from the South. I was a fan of the AG Blaze pre-pandemic since I do like Blazes only when they are relatively unpacked & quiet. Now even more so. I am kind of a pest at Blaze & want it made a certain way, with my favorite toppings, & it must not be burnt. Besides getting lots of Vegs, Spices, & Cheese, I always try to have them place the metal screen under the baking pie. The young fellows here not only are good at customizing your pie, but have a good intuitive knowledge of how to cook it properly. I went a bit late and about two hours or so before the closing [I do wish they were open later], and I was thrilled with my Pizza. It was just as good, if not better than pies for over twice the price from some local fancy Pizza places in SLO. Of course, while Blaze has a fast food place style, the atmosphere here can be relaxing when not crowded. In the Paso, area it is really hard to find a decent meal for about $12 or so. I suspect it is in part due to the tourist effect, especially in the downtown area. Who knew that you could get a fine meal in the middle of a huge mall. To get here off of the 101 is a bit convoluted, but easy once you figure it out. I think that when I am up here & hungry, Blaze is a wonderful frugal, yet yummy choice. This was one of the times where I was happy to leave a good tip since they sure earned it, & I was super-pleased with my great meal. I then happily got onto the 101 & headed South for home in Pismo. When it gets late in our area, most places shut down earlier than one may wish, so when you are looking at a 45+ minute drive & do not want to eat too late, getting decent or even good food where you happen to be is a great idea. Despite what some tourists think, there are really tons of areas that can be looked at as vital "food deserts"...including Shell Beach....where you need a car to get to a decent Supermarket & local restaurants are more tourist oriented. read more

Bad Customer Service - poor management In total disregard for their customers, they closed down the restaurant at least 1hr earlier last Saturday night and did not disable the ordering website and or the answering machine that tells you they only take orders via the website. I went to the store just to see it closed (they also don't do delivery) and no signs about it. No email or phone call to apologize for the time wasted or for taking my money with no product. The refund proceeding started 4 days after the incident. read more

Part of the 1 star given is due to grub hub delivery failing in multiple categories including zero notices or contact despite having my information and instructions to give updates and call on arrival which he did not. The food however arrived completely dry, no sauce on white pizza, no salad dressing, forks thrown about not in any packaging or bags, a wad of napkins that look dirty and used balled up on top of the pizza boxes, and the pizza was cold as well.
