Several places were closed for the day already and I saw this little corner place that still had the Open sign on. Burgers? Sure, why not, that should fill me up and it sure did! I ordered the regular Old Fashioned (no cheese), side of fries and a drink. Everyone was very friendly and helpful as I've never been to this place to eat before let alone this part of the state! The burger was perfectly cooked at medium and very juicy and delicious! Fried were good, not great but the burger was the star of the meal anyway. But I will say the fries were good once I dipped them in the dripping juices and sauce from the burger. But it was a very hearty burger and after a long drive, really hit the spot! If I'm ever in this area again or see another Sylvester's I will definitely make it a point to visit and try a different burger. Favorite dish: Old Fashioned with no cheese. Go out and EAT!

It's a very peacefully place to have a leisurely lunch or just a pick up quick bite ;) There is beer, wine & a full bar in case you want to unwind with a drink. There's also fresh baked goods, hot coffee & teas. Really there's a little something for everyone! They pride themselves on there "world famous hot dog" it's a 1/4lb dog split & grilled served on a warm bun & a plentiful condiment bar to boot. Ask the friendly staff in the Deli how the dog came to be "world famous" they be happy to tell you! It's a cute story :) The burgers don't take second place either, the juicy all beef patty comes on a toasted sesame bun served w LTPO (lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion) you can always spruce it up w cheese, bacon, or an ortega chili, (w and additional fee of course. :) The meals include a side of your choice, now there is no fries, but they make up for it with their HOME MADE potato salad, mac salad or chili, among the other standard sides, green salad, chips & salsa or a bag of kettle chips!!! There is SO many food options it's hard to list, point is you should see it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!!! It is a lil tucked away, but well worth the visit. ENJOY!!! :)

We had time for dinner so off we went. Hum whats nearby the theatre, alot of places to eat really...we'd liked the A town diner before, the menu covers it all practically so...We parked seven o'clock the dinner tush had passed and in we went. We were seated at a small booth, perfect. Drink orders taken now we needed to decide what to eat. M went with a light breakfast offering a pancake, a scrambled egg and bacon. Hum it was dinner time dear, I needed more time. The fish & chips were the special and it was Good Friday but I went big with the hot pastrami sandwich. Fries are extra so I ordered the onion rings to accompany the sammie. Pretty quick the food was out of the kitchen and on the table in front of us, wow M dove right into that 7" pancake as soon as she finished pouring on the syrup. My sandwich was a hood size on a very soft french roll a good six inches Very tasty but I always think there should be more meat than bread, there was alot of bread in that roll. Where's the beef, right... Onion rings, nothing special your average frozen beer battered Moores onion ring served late but freshly hot. We had a good meal, good service and a fair price. Was it five star, no it was a good four star, we didn't need or want anything special. Now dessert was a calling from behind that glass display when we walked in the door but tonight the stomach and the wallet forgave. We were gonna need reason for movie concessions, right? She was excited to get into A-Town and wanted to spin by Traffic Records, but first Wild Fields Brewhouse. Located near the theater in what seemed like an under used strip mall, Wild Fields anchors down a large portion of the building. It felt like a German brewhouse, walking into a wine, open room with bar and booth seating, along with picnic tables. Arcade games dotted the far walls and the kitchen located at the end of the bar. Lots of stainless steel behind the roll up door with a list of what's :in the tanks" on thew glass behind the bar. The top list showed 20 beers available with Berliner Weiss listed as a 3.99 beer. Nice touch, and show this 3.99 beer rotates, as I returned a few days later. After finishing reviewing all the breweries in Paso for the SLO Beer Guide, A-Town was next on my list, but hadn't got down there until this visit. Talking to a couple at Cal Coast, they both agreed that Learning to Fly was their favorite IPA, so that was my mission, to check out this beer. That said, we each got a flight of beers to share and was able to sample 8 different beers from Atascadero Beach, 4101, Windswept Fields and Porch Drinkin' to Mouse Rock, Hop Clarity and License to Fill. We also tossed in Three Bridges and Oktoberfest. Unfortunately, Learning to Fly was sold out, so we left with a can as well as Cloudbreak. The beers, flawless. While not every style I faithfully drink, like brown ales or a Marzen, but am experienced enough to know a well crafted beer when I taste one. Three Bridges won gold at WBC and GABF in 2022, as did Atascadero Beach. MY second trip back I sampled their English Brown Ale, Pine Mountain Monolith, which took home gold in 2021 and 2022 from GABF and WBC, repeating that in 2022 at GABF. As was recommended to me, Learning to Fly, the 7% WCIPA was incredible. As I summerized in my beer review, "Wild Fields' first flight and still a defining one. Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra at 7% ABV and 100 IBU -- citrusy, piney, dank, tropical, crushable. The brewery's own mixtape, played from the very beginning. Still sounds good." We didn't sample any food while we were there, but they do have an extensive menu in place. Seems like a fun place to hang out and grab some beer and food. We will be back, thanks for the great beer!

It's super family friendly, and our son loves the toddler play area. Our nieces also love the arcade games, so it's a great spot for kids and families. The beer is the best we've had in Atascadero, especially the west coast-style pale ales and IPAs like Atasca-where-o, Afraid of the Grade, Mouse Rock, and Hop Clarity. The staff has always been great, the indoor/outdoor space is awesome for groups, and having a full kitchen makes it even better. We even hosted a small lead-in gathering there the night before our son's 1st birthday party, and it was perfect. We're excited to keep coming back and becoming regulars.
