Absolutely top notch, 5 star fresh NY bagels! Would drive 12+hrs for these bagels! In fact, we did.... We visited Blazing Bagels because we were staying in nearby Wallkill, NY on vacation. We came from NC, where there are no good bagels to be had. Oh sure, we have chain stores like Bruegger's Bagels, and more recently a few Dunkin Donuts sprinkled here & there. But if you've ever lived up North, you know that that just will not do. The South East is a veritable bagel desert, with not even a mirage of good bagels to keep you going ;) We knew we wanted to load up on good gluten & carbs while we were in NY. And more importantly, bring some home to our originally from NJ, but relocated to NC family. So we checked out Yelp, saw the across the board stellar reviews and decided it was worth a drive. Did not disappoint! We got everything from toasted breakfast bagels to cream cheese bagels to dozens to take with us The in house made cream cheese is phenomenal! Scallion and garlic and the jalapeno were my favorites. My daughter tried a sweeter one, blueberry and loved it. The everything, onion, poppyseed and plain bagels were delicious. Fresh, soft (but not squishy, just a perfect hint of 'give' when squeezed) and smelled heavenly too! My husband has an Instagram account promoting small business owners across the USA. Since I live close by and I love bagels I'm a frequent customer at this store. Although the bagels are great and reasonably priced, the customer service is difficult to commend. Each time I go there I hope for a pleasant experience but have alway been met with disappointment. The lack luster sense of disinterest in you being there is often palpable. As a direct result, simple orders are not heard and mistakes are common. Maybe the employees are underpaid or overworked? Either way, this would be a 5 star business if this issue was amended. read more

An unassuming little hole-in-the-wall gem. Walk into this weird, lopsided room (next door to the nail salon) and you will find perfect, perfect bagels at good prices made fresh every day by very nice people. Best bagels in the area, hands down. I've tried many of the others, but I always wind up jonesing for a Blazing bagel. They are crispy and chewy, not to mention ridiculously tasty. I've had the plain, multi-grain, jalapeno and French toast, though there are tons of other flavors to choose from. You can't go wrong. Oh, and their chicken salad is one of the best I have ever had in my life. Breakfast sandwiches are great as well. There are often pretty long lines, but don't let it deter you. The girls behind the counter are quick. And remember... there's a line for a reason! Also, a helpful hint: Every two weeks, we stock up with a dozen bagels and freeze them. 5 stars is not enough. I live a good 20 minutes away and saw the reviews on yelp and decided it was worth the drive to give it a shot. ( I am a bagel junkie ) So this morning I headed over. Instantly i had a good feeling because the place was packed. I never mind a longer line its always a good sign ( the line moved quickly) The girl at the counter was very nice and friendly she seemed to know everyone else's regular order ( very endearing ) I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and a plain bagel with butter. Both were INSANELY delicious. My mom said it was the best one she's ever eaten. I honestly think my only complaint is the distance from my house because I know i'm going to be making the trip at least once a week. I can't wait to go back! LOVED IT read more

Cheap, good, and fast. I love this place, in such a small area such a pine bush this is a great place to cure a hangover or if you're craving a good bagel. I came here twice for breakfast last weekend and I was very satisfied both times. I've had bagels from Long Island as well as NYC( I live there) needless to say I very so much approve. We have been getting bagels here for years. The bagels are the best. The cream cheese is awesome. About 4 years ago a new manger took over and since then the service is horrible. The girls act like your annoying them to come while they are working. The younger gentleman is very personable and gets what customers need even if he is busy with other tasks. The owner or manager seems like he could care less that the place is busy and walks around like he owns the place not talking to anyone. If the food was not so good I would stop coming because we always leave in a bad mood. We spend enough money to be treated as if you need our business. read more

Their homemade salads such as chicken, tuna, and egg are just super. The bagels are always fresh. However, there is a young guy that makes awesome homemade pesto. I get nothing else now except for an incredible sandwich made up of fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, mayo, extra pesto and olive oil on a toasted salt bagel. It is the absolute best. My fiance and I stumbled upon Blazing Bagels on our way back from PA to Boston and we were very happy we did. I ordered a chicken sandwich (I forget the actual name) on a blueberry bagel and a slice of apple pie on the side. The staff was extremely friendly and my sandwich was delicious. They even included a cookie with the sandwich. We decided to grab a few bagels and a muffin to go and weren't disappointed with those either. Having grown up in the northern NJ area, I appreciate a good bagel shop like this. I wish there was a place like this around Boston - the selection isn't nearly as good up here as it is down in the tri-state area. The only reason I gave two stars is because I really like the bagels. Come here all the time and spend a lot of money. However, today I ran in to grab a dozen bagels. Only brought a $10 bill with me. Came to $10.50. Instead of letting this $0.50 go, the girl made me put three bagels back (bakers dozen) and only take ten for $9.90. I mean, really?? They will probably give away a lot more by the end of the day. Definitely won't be going back there. Lost a good customer today. Will go out of my way to Downtown Bagels in Middletown from now on. We will never patronize this establishment again. Their customer service is horrendous! They make you feel like they are doing you a favor by serving you. Mistakes on orders are common and on the 2 visits to the store we did not get a thank you either time. While their bagels may be good, the attitude and lack of quality service makes the trip not worth while. Our job is only a quarter of a mile away but we will drive 5 or 10 miles away if we have must to get better service. read more

Won't ever go back. I placed a telephone order to be picked up. I specifically asked if they had what we required before the order was placed and they assured me they did. Upon pick-up, the order was incorrect. Not only did they not have what we requested, they made what they felt like, wrong order, wrong condiments and rolls instead of bagels. We were charged full price, did not receive an apology or a compensation for our inconvenience. Terrible way to run a business. For some reason I am not able to leave a rating for the Blazing Bagels in Walden, NY. This rating is for the shop in WALDEN, NY. I purchased a turkey, egg and cheese this morning and when I got home I notice there was NO CHEESE. ( I EVEN TOOK A PICTURE, BECAUSE I WAS SO SHOCKED, AND THE SANDWICH WAS SO DRY). I called them because I figured they would replace it for me and apologize. I live 2 minutes from the shop. When I called them to explain there was no cheese, she said to me " If I'm sure that the cheese did not melt off, because that's what happens when you get a egg sandwich". she questioned me as if I was wrong. I told her NO, i have never had a breakfast sandwich where the cheese completely melts off! She did not even offer to replace the sandwich. She had a sarcastic tone as if i was stupid for calling in. I started my morning off, not even because of the mistake of missing cheese.. her customer service completely ruined my morning, I will never return to this place again! read more
