Great bagels and quick service! I read all the bad reviews and decided to try it anyway because I really wanted a lox bagel - and BOY DID I GET ONE. They really pile it on there - the barracudawas amazing. The cashier talked my brother out of getting one because he seemed hesitant and thank goodness she did, because he would NOT have liked it. We came in around 7:30am and ordered 4 bagel sandwiches to-go and got some celsius' too - literally in and out in under 15. Great experience! read more

We came here for breakfast on Saturday morning and it was pretty busy. We got the meat lover, hobo sandwiches, and a a French toast bagel with strawberry cream cheese. My husband and I enjoyed liked the hobo over the meat lover and it was a decently sized bagel! The french toast bagel with the strawberry cream cheese was also a delight. Overall we enjoyed our bagels! The staff here were also great and apologized for the wait on the food even though we didn't wait too long. read more

Today March 26,2026 I stopped to get me a BLT and when I got to work to sit down thinking that I was gonna enjoy my sandwich. I couldn't even eat it. Why because the bacon was cold? The blonde woman (think she was the owner) who gruffly me gave me my order was nasty AF - not a thank you, not a receipt - just a rough handover of my two bagels over the counter in the brown bag. We tried this spot today. It was great. Ordered three bagel egg sandwiches. One egg and cheese on pumpernickel, egg,cheese and bacon on poppyseed and egg cheese and sausage on onion. These all were very good. We came in around noon on Saturday and many of the bagel types were gone. But that was ok with us because the ones we were able to get were amazing. So glad we found this place. Will be back whenever we are in the newburgh area. read more

Always looking for a good New York Bagel shop and this is one of them. Bagels are kettle cooked to deliciousness. The price is on point and the service is fast. Staff was friendly and polite and quick with the bagels. Have not sat down in the cafe always order to go and I'm in and out in a few minutes. Bagel selection is good, love the everything bagel and the jalapeño. Lox and bagels is good they call it the barracuda. Meatlovers is exactly what you think... heaven!! The person taking orders and cashing people out couldn't be anymore RUDE! I already don't like coming here bc they never answer the phones and leave it off the hook occasionally so they don't take more orders and sometimes the bagels are hard. Today my normal go to place was closed so I placed an order for my office over the phone after calling 90 times (literally). This is the first time I've come into the establishment in over a year so I was not looking around at signs or anything as I was on the phone waiting to be taken and cashed out. I am not a rude phone person I place my phone on hold when I need to speak to someone. With that being said I was skipped over twice this morning which pissed me off, I finally said I'm looking to pick up my order to which they then said don't give me an attitude I'm not helping you and pointed to a sign. As previously stated I have not been here in a long time so I was unaware (there's a way to simply state a policy politely), as I approached I said ok and put my phone down to which I was then told I must hang up my phone call. Who tf are you to tell me to hang up a phone call when I'm being respectful and placing my phone down to pick up my order not to place one. Anyway once I put my phone in my pocket bc setting it down was not good enough they proceeded to throw my entire order around, didn't give me any utensils or condiments and fucked up one of the 5 things I ordered. I will continuously never recommend this place to anyone as the staff in front just continues to become nasty. read more

I lived in Newburgh for 9 years. This spot used to be called Sammy C's and it was an excellent spot to grab lunch. They had a killer BLT and hot dogs. This new spot is a simple breakfast spot. The menu is very small. I ordered the bagel with lox and scallion creme cheese. They ran out of everything and sesame bagels. This is a bagel spot right? Booooo. I ended up with a poppy seed bagel. It was decent. Light but still chewy.The lox were also nice. Not too overpowering. The onions however were brutal. They used too many, they were not sliced thin and they nearly ruined the bagel. I tasted onion for hours afterwards. My friends ordered pancakes and french toast. They looked OK. The price was right. With all the diners in Newburgh I would imagine this place will be an afterthought. read more

They're usually on the slow side, which is fine, I usually go on the weekend. But today was an symphony of incompetence. 40 minutes for any breakfast order is absurd, let alone a breakfast sandwich. The people before me ordered a hobo and I don't know if they had to murder one to fill the order, but they were still waiting. There is zero flow to the operation. Ok you get two stars because the Bagels were the only thing good about this place. We walked in the young girl behind the counter would only talk to the two town workers that were ordering. Once it was our turn she SAID NOT ONE WORD just looked at us kinda like "what" that's what me and my husband felt like. EXCELLENT place!!!! Plethora of items on the menu, tge menu board, and the chalkboard. Hubby and I go there just about everyday. Ya get to know the regulars. A family place. Owner is a wonderful and kind person. Wait staff and customer service beyond words. The food??? UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Ther are NO bad choices. NONE! Ordered a jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. There was maybe two specs of actual jalapeño the rest was clearly just red pepper flakes in the bagel and cream cheese. To anyone who knows spices could tell the difference easily. Nothing worse than ordering something on the menu that comes not as described. read more

The bagels are amazing. Breakfast potatoes were under seasoned and smelt like they were boiled in mop water and put ketchup packs on your potatoes is disgusting. People handle those and your putting that on people's food. Service needs a lot of work. The girls in the front aren't very sanitary. They handle food after handling money. Not once did she put on gloves. NOT ONCE!! For a business that just opened you would think it would be buttoned up and more organized. read more

Drive past it. Lazy, frozen food on the menu. Snippy service from an owner (yelling at a grandkid running amok in the restaurant.) We asked for bagel breakfast sandwiches, since "Kettle Boiled Bagels" seemed to be the specialty. Were told fairly rudely that there were almost no bagels left and weirdly made to guess which kind remained. Sandwiches came untoasted and slung at us. Genuine kettle boiled - nothing like bagels from the grocery store. Generously cream cheesed. The lox spread was just right.

Love this hometown cafe. Everyone is friendly, including the customers. People greeting and chatting. A true local gathering place. Affordable and family friendly. The staff is amazing and couldn't be more congenial, especially Katrina. The place is clean and nicely decorated. The menu offers both breakfast and lunch items, as well as specials. It's been different cafes over the years that have failed. This one is less impressive than the last which I thought would stay awhile. Food isn't that good and service is slacking. The 2nd server leaves at 12 when lunch starts so now they only have 1 girl trying to service up to 7 tables plus countertop service. Saw a sign they are now closing at 1. Used to be open until 3 then 2 and now 1. Not sure if they even want a lunch crew after seeing that. The owner has a couple other shops so I'm thinking they will all support each other with bad days and good days but with a little improvement this place could bring in the money. Also on my last visit I noticed prices have increased for the second time in less than a year. Higher prices for sub quality food is a recipe for disaster. I wish them luck but it's not looking good. Doubt I'll be eating there again. Poor service, less than good quality food and oh yeah dirty silverware and glasses. read more

I was there yesterday for lunch. We arrived at noon. Ordered, had good service and a yummy meal. Then it turned from a casual bagel cafe to the Passive Aggressive Cafe. The vacuuming started - not a silent restaurant push broom but a full sound, loud vacuum next to our table...around our table...to the other side of our table. I was in the middle of a sentence and stared YELLING so my friend could hear me (and I'm loud just ask anyone). No apologies, no comments, no acknowledgment by the waitress (who was our server). A few minutes later, same waitress came by and said, in an irritated and impatient way "can you pay your check so (didnt catch his name) can close his drawer out?" We did. Next thing we know, the lights go out - no words just lights. This was around 1:05. At around 1:20 a different employee comes to the counter behind me and says, annoyed, "We're closed." We got our stuff together and walked out and no one ever said goodbye, apologized, thanked us for coming or any pleasantries at all. I checked the door it said hours were till 2pm. I checked Google and it said hours were till 3pm. This is apparently a new owner and they should learn how to treat their customers. Here's some advice: If you are closing differently than hours posted COMMUNICATE that at the beginning of the meal. Treat your customer as though you are happy they are there, appreciate their business and want them to come back. If you want them to leave, ask politely and with apologies. We arrived less than 1 hour before they started sending us signals to get the F out. Not cool. Will not be back. read more
