I had myself a cute little solo date at Blend! This is my second visit and it was just as good as the first. This is a Latin Fusion restaurant located in Long Island City. I recommend taking public transportation if you can because parking can be a nightmare. I came by on a Saturday evening and was seated immediately. I made it JUST in time before Happy Hour ended at 7pm. I started off with a Margarita ($9), my absolute favorite cocktail. The tequila was swimming in this one. I think the bartender might've gone too hard with the lime juice because it was too sour/tart for my taste. Not a bad drink overall! Their menu offers dishes inspired by a variety of Latin American countries, but there's a heavy focus on Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, and Colombian food. Bistec, pernil, churrasco, tostones, arepas, mofongo, paella, tacos... they have a lot of variety with reasonable prices! For my entree, I ordered the Pernil ($19) which came with yellow rice, black beans, tostones, and sauce. This did not stand a CHANCE against my appetite. I inhaled this meal within minutes LOL. The portion size was more than enough for a hungry gal. The pernil (Cuban style pulled pork) was slow roasted for 12 hours and marinated. It was tender, juicy, and absorbed all of the rich flavors from the marinade - garlicky, citrusy, and smoky. The yellow rice (fluffy and savory) and black beans (meaty and earthy) were cooked perfectly. And the tostones?! Golden and crispy on the outside with just the right amount of sea salt! No complaints on the service. The servers checked in on me frequently. My order came out quickly. I was in and out of there in less than 40 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I highly recommend checking this spot out if you're in the area! Lively ambiance with excellent happy hour deals (Mon-Fri 11am-7pm and Saturday 4pm-7pm) and nightly events.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also offer a bottomless brunch on the weekends from 11am-4pm. I really need to try more entrees here, but the pernil is just too good. I'll keep dreaming about it!

My friend and I came here after an event.Starving and we knew that the quality of the food would be good as we've visited other locations of this restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Space is quaint, but definitely lively.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]bThe staff is friendly and professional. We were offered a seat at a table or the bar, but was encouraged to go to the bar, since we were partaking in the happy hour. We tried each of the frozen cocktails and ended up getting both. For food, i chose a side of rice and beans with an appetizer (i've had the garlic shrimp before and it was delicious) Great choice (it was a little bit salty) next time. I'll go with white rice instead of yellow. My friend ordered the Lomo Saltado for the first time and she was pleasantly surprised. Needless to say, this place is a solid choice.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun, lively atmosphere with good latin food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came around noon on a Saturday and were able to order from both the brunch and lunch menus. We ordered the Arepas (appetizer), Bistec de Pollo, and Pernil- both entrees came with rice, beans, and plantains and were very filling. The Pernil was my favorite- it was juicy, savory and very tender. The Bistec de Pollo was good but dry, which isn't super surprising given it was breast meat- consider ordering the Honey Chicken Thigh if you're looking for a chicken dish that's juicier and more tender. Overall I found it to be a very satisfying meal and would come back.

I've just remembered about finishing some of the reviews sitting in my draft, which is one of them. Don't worry, I remember the taste because I note down every time I try a dish, but I keep it in the draft. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is decorated with a pretty ambiance and is relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friend and I came here on a cold day. We shared Taco Trio. She ordered chicharron or pieces of fried chicken. I tried one, not bad. We also had a nice salad, Queso De Cabra. Try this salad because it was my best for the night. Everything was prepared nicely with colorful toppings on the tacos, plus the sweet treatment from our waitress, Stephanie. Thank you for making our dinner a pleasant one. Thanks!

When you want spanish cuisine this is the place to go to. Service is always amazing and warm. I ordered to-go from this spot and it was a great lunch spot! We got the Ropa vieja & Cuban sandwich and it was pretty solid! I rarely try Latin food, so I have minimal expectations, but both my friend and I enjoyed the food that we got here. Their ropa vieja cames with plantains that paired well with their meat. And, the Cuban sandwich was packed with roast pork and ham. Would love to dine-in next time!

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! My boyfriend and I have been coming to the Astoria location for YEARS! And we recently visited the Kent ave location! Bomb! Amazing but the LIC LOCATION IS FUMBULING!!!! 14 bucks for a flavored margarita (they charged us an extra two for the flavor) when the menu doesn't say it. Then the fucking waitress that the FUCKKKKKING nerve... to point to the happy hour menu which added the extra two dollars to the happy hour price! This location is fraud!!!! Don't come here. This spot was ON POINT. OMGoodness I had the Churrasco lunch special. I asked for a salad instead of the rice. I ordered my steak medium well and it was DELICIOUS. The Frozen Sangrita was not too weak nor not too strong. The service was friendly and the wait time for my meal was not long. The ambiance was low key, clean and comfortable. I will be going back...Ohhhh and it's a few blocks away from the 7 train. Try em!

I was skeptical about trying this Blend since I did not have great experiences in the other Blend locations in either Long Island City nor Astoria. As soon as we entered, they have a nice full bar to the right and have the walls decorated with post card looking frames from different countries. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She took our food and drink orders quickly. I ordered a passion fruit margarita which was very good and two poached eggs on arepas. The potatoes it came with were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The eggs on the arepas were heavenly; the arepa was sweet and salty and paired perfectly with the yoky eggs. They say my boyfriend happy birthday and gave him an ordered of bread pudding with vanilla ice cream on top which was the perfect way to finish the meal. Will definitely be returning to try other items from their menu or a night out for drinks.

I have been here for lunch a lot times. In the beginning I love this restaurant, but today it makes me disappointed again. I usually have lunch in this restaurant once a week and always have the same dish - grilled steak. Last week I came to Blend and ordered the grilled steak again but noticed that they gave a way smaller steak than usual. They used a black plate for the meal but others with the white plate. I told myself it only was an one time coincidence. So i give it a try today. Same thing happens to me just now. I compare this with the guys who sat next to me, and I found out that he got the regular steak size. Of course his dish holds with the white plate. Not sure will come back again because of this unfair treatment. read more

Blend LIC. Is great it's the original location and I have been coming here for a very long time for lunch, dinner and brunch, the food or the service never disappoints. Kudos to the staff. The food here is really good and fresh. I love coming here for their lunch specials as you can get a hefty meal for $10. The restaurant is beautiful and the music is great. It can get really busy here around lunch time which can have you wait a bit for your food. Service is ok, but I'm sure it's because of how busy it can get. read more

I've been waiting almost 2 hours for my delivery. The excuse was that the driver is experiencing car problems for the delivery - although I live 1 block from the restaurant. After living in this neighborhood for 10 years, this is the worst customer service I've experienced. I also waited on hold for over 4 minutes twice for an order status. There are many other great places in LIC with better service. I will not be back to this ever and will not recommend to fellow friends and neighbors. read more

Listen guys, whatever you eat here is going to feel like home cooked, which is something that should be just normal in any restaurant, however, doesn't happen that often. Yes, it will happen every time at this place. I usually order more than one plate, I mix up stuff and I take home the rest for later. It's that good! read more

Went here for dinner. I got some empanadas (very good) and the goat cheese salad which was also very good. The service was slow though and realized myself and my husband where being tended to a lot less then the other tables...not sure why. In a small neighborhood like LIC service is really what brings you back to a place. I don't see myself rushing back here anytime soon. read more

I can't believe I didn't join Yelp sooner. Anyway, I have been going to Blend for the past 5 years since I live in the neighborhood. The menu at Blend has never changed and they never have specials. I do like their food, I enjoy the grilled chicken dish with the coconut rice. The lomo saltado is tasty (churrasco with onions and peppers over rice and fries). I know there is another Blend near the water , I have never been to that one. I did see their menu and its the same, lol. Overall Blend is a good place to chill and have after work drinks, its also a cool place for a date because its not very expensive. read more

I went to Blends with my out of town friends for lunch. We had a great time. The atmosphere is relaxing, great music, and the food was awesome. Prices are very reasonable. Our server, Monica, was the best. She was competent, friendly and very accommodating. Monica also checked on our table to make sure that everything was up to our satisfaction. Great place! The restaurant has a modern look to it, very squawky vibe. The menu is very limited which is a Con, but the food does have an authentic Latin taste to their dishes(Mofongo Shrimp).The drink menu is ample compare to the food menu and the service is pretty good for a busy Saturday night. Their prices are fair for a restaurant in Queens. I most definitely will come again for a quick dinner or drink. read more

We originally went to blend on the water, but we needed reservations. They sended us to this one. It was my birthday and the guy in the front desk called the other replace to let them know and they totally forgot, other than that everything was great! The pricing was amazing and the food was good. I liked the service because they were always on top of us with great attention. I want to go to blend on water next time to see if it is the same. Three stars was mostly for the service and ambience. Waitress was great! Went to celebrate my sisters birthday party of 10. The place is pretty small so we were on top of another party. We had to do a fix menu with a big group which was ok with us. The appetizer was ok - we had a sampler the chicken bites were overcooked, Maduros was good, empanadas were different it tasted like it had ricotta cheese which I never had before, the sauces were great! I dont like seafood so didn't taste the calamari or the shrimp but my sister said it was pretty good. My main course was pernil and rice and beans - it was way overseasoned. I tried my sister's steak and it was over cooked. It left a nasty burnt taste in your mouth even after dipping into sauce. I had the brownie and vanilla ice cream for dessert I've had better but wasn't terrible could have used a bit more ice cream. My family said the Flan was decent. Overall the food isn't the greatest overseasoned and overcooked but the service was on point. read more

I've been coming to this Blend location for YEARS. The main reason is the great service. Unfortunately, that was not the case yesterday. We arrived just around 4PM. HUGE shout out to both hostesses while we were there as well as the bartender. The young lady who waited on us was just HORRIBLE to say the least. To be fair, it seemed she was the only server. However, why is she in the back of the restaurant sitting with someone who appears to be the owner and perhaps their delivery boy laughing instead of waiting on us and others instead of having us add to our order via the other staff? Just so unprofessional. When it was time to leave the tip I was very reluctant. She literally did nothing but take our first order. As I was signing she charged over to our table (finally) and snatched the pay machine from my hand and just walked away. Back to her conversation with the other two in the back. Just horrible and we are likely not visiting this location if she has to wait on us or if that management allows this behavior. I recommend the Astoria and On the Water locations for much better service. read more

I came to Blend with my family las Thursday, Drinks where amazing as always, I had a Churrasco and my babes pollo a la plancha, also ordered a tapatizer sampler which is perfect on portion and delicious! They have drinks specials everyday, and prices are really amazing. Monica our waitress was remarkable, she was very attentive and gave us many suggestions and delicious options. The Sangrita is the best drink ever. I'm coming back on Tuesday for a 2x1mojitos!! read more

This location is a bit small but the food and service were excellent. Will definitely re-visit. Wasn't a big fan of the ropa vieja but everything else was great! The food was amazing! It was my first time going with my good friend and I got the palomilla steak with rice and beans and she got the pollo a la plancha. They were both really good! We also split the warm bread pudding and OH MY! The best. I would definitely recommend and if I am in this area next time I come to NY I am definitely coming here again. read more

Great place for professional latin cuisine. I loved the pollo a la plancha and the coco mojito the sangrias were delish! Plus i got one sangria for free for checking in on yelp!! Cant beat free drinks. The waitress was prompt and efficient and overall pleasant. Be sure to go on am empty stomach because youll want more the food is very good. Be sure to go during a weekday though as this place is very popular and can get really busy around weekends and friday nights. read more

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday.. staff was friendly. Place wasnt packed for a friday afternoon. We walked in without a reservation. I would have liked more music played and slightly faster service. My food came out quick but i had to stare at the waitress to get a second drink after i had placed my order 10 mins prior. I eat from this restaurant every Friday for the past 5 months, it's always late, the order is NEVER correct. The young lady, Melissa, who takes the orders over the phone is VERY unprofessional after realizing she screwed up my order on numerous occasions and today August 30th, 2019 she hung up the phone on me twice after I tried to correct her and refuse to let me speak with a manager. Arrived 7:15 for 7:30 dinner. Got a table for three, sat down and ordered a beer. Waitress punched beer order into handheld device, then promptly went back to texting. When my wife and daughter arrived at 7:30, still hadn't received my beer. When the waitress finally returned to take our order - 23 minutes later - I asked if it would again takes 20 minutes if I ordered another beer. Her response: "I'm busy. And you shouldn't be so rude." He took the order of a table that had been seated after us while we continued waiting. About 20 minutes later, a female waitress noticed we had not been helped and took over our table. She was attentive, professional, and the only reason we received service. After placing our order, we waited about an hour for our entrées. The food was also underwhelming. The Papa a la Huancaína came with an excessive amount of sauce and very few potatoes. The Ceviche Mixto lacked the bright citrus flavor that ceviche should have. My grandmother, who is very familiar with Peruvian cuisine, found it bland, and even after taking it home we couldn't improve it. The Bistec Encebollado was slightly too salty for our taste. The beans simply weren't to my liking, though that's a matter of personal preference. Another issue is the dining room layout. The seating is extremely tight, to the point where it feels like you're almost elbow-to-elbow with the tables next to you, making the experience feel cramped. Overall, this visit was disappointing. Between the slow and inattentive service, the long wait for food, the cramped seating, and several disappointing dishes, the experience did not justify the visit. The female waitress deserves recognition for stepping in when we had been overlooked, but unfortunately she couldn't make up for the rest of the experience.

I think I was so upset at the customer service that I decided to make an account... The sitting as fast enough that I was able to sit just about anywhere and the waitress took more than 10 mins to come and say hello . Now I told her I was thinking about a drink and she said okay and brushed me off and never came back to ask me if I would like anything to drink at the moment there are 16 people inside and the two other persons I walked in ate and left . As for my food my food came and what was I going to eat with my fingers !! Smh nobody notice I has no utensils to eat with , now how do you miss not looking at the table . Food and drinks were good.My issue is when we asked for the bill instead of getting a printed receipt we got a verbal 'quote' that we owed $85. Then the waitress stood over us while we counted out cash (as if we were going to walk out we had 2 children under 2 with us, it's not like we're going anywhere in a hurry!). We asked for a printed receipt after we had paid only to be given a receipt for $73? When we asked why the amounts were different we were then printed a receipt with gratuity added to total $85. I have no problem with gratuity being added, and apparently it says so on the menu (not that we had time to read the whole menu with 2 toddlers) but to verbally tell us how much we owe without giving a receipt so that we can see for ourselves that gratuity is included is very shady. So desperate for money that you have to con people into giving you 40%? There seemed to be nothing wrong with your printers when you printed out both receipts after the bill was paid. I came back here tonight (Monday night) after Zee, the restaurant manager invited me back. Kayla was our server (and everyone else's server) and provided exceptional service. She took our order promptly, had good suggestions, and was super friendly. Kudos to her since she was the only server on a very busy night and I saw her hosting as well. You can never go wrong with the mojitos here and the passion fruit caipirinha just became my signature drink. I ordered the seafood paella and was impressed by the savory clams, they practically melted off the shell. The rice soaked up just enough of the sauce but was not soggy. There was a generous amount of seafood and chorizo and there was not too much or too little of one single thing. My boyfriend ordered the churrasco and was not disappointed. The hostess didn't smile but did accommodate my request for a table in the back. Our server Edgar was more interested in flirting with the lady at the next table then paying attention to his other tables. If that wasn't enough the food was terrible. I religiously order the Cuban sandwich and it was nothing like the others. I love Blend in Astoria! I love Blend on the water! But this place was awful. I am usually forgiving about as long as the food is good but nah. Terrible. Terrible food. Terrible server! This place is a hole in the wall, but it's inviting from the moment I walked in Diana the hostess with the mostest greeted me and sat me at my choice of table which I liked. The staff is friendly and beautiful, Genisis was my server and she was quite attentive with me, she made sure all my needs were met. I will definitely come here more often because the food is delicious, and I appreciate the eye candy. Now for the food and drinks, I started with a passion fruit frozen sangria that hit the spot after a long day of work, and continued with my entree pollo a la plancha, I don't know what sauce they put on top of it; but it's crack I devoured the plate and everything was delicious. For appetizers we had the platter of 5 empanadas. we got a few cheese and chicken and it was super yummy and not greasy which i really liked. and it was just enough of a bite so i had room for dinner. i also had the mexican corn with mayo, cheese and paprika and it was so good! again, just the right size. Lastly for appetizers we had the mofongo - chicken and shrimp...SOOO good! really delicious flavor, not greasy and heavy. The sauce was very tasty. I really enjoyed this. We ordered empanada sampler to share, and while we didnt know what was in each one, we all liked the entire different flavor. I ordered the churrasco (grilled marinated skirt steak) and eggs. The churrasco was very flavorful and the eggs were cooked perfectly. It also comes with home fries. The other parties in my group ordered egg benedict and chick burrito, which they all like. As a huge fan of Cuban cuisine or a sucker for Latin food in general, I have to say blend on Vernon blvd is among the best. I am a frequent visitor to the restaurant due to working in the area, and the service is second to none. I do have to say the server Fabian is one of the most personable and efficient workers I have seen. His attention to detail only made the dining experience more rememberable. If blends recruitment scheme is to find talent like Fabian then I like where the restaurants direction is headed. Overall greatness in a emerging city/neighborhood . read more

Placed an order for delivery and waited over 1.5hrs for the delivery, but nothing. Called them and asked for update and they said it was on the way. Waited another 20min and nothing. Then i called again only to cancel my order and then my bell rings that the order is here...nbut the forgot two items from my order and told me that it will take some time to deliver it. I was like WTF... Cancel that shit. This place is a joke when i comes to deliveries. Never Again!!! read more

....Where do I start? Okay! First I'll say the Food is pretty decent... But the service was not. I went for lunch a few months ago with my 2 small children and my wife. Placed our orders after waiting 10 minutes for the waitress to actually come over and ask... Food came out 30 minutes later.... there were only 2 other tables in the place... Com'on! Ordered $75 worth of food. Mistakenly did not check my order before leaving and got home and realized about four orders were missing. Called and was immediately told that I was given the complete order, after being called honey numerous times, even though my bags were sitting off to the side waiting with my name attached. Currently have been on hold for 30 minutes after asking for a manager. read more

This will be a short review. This is a confusing place they have outstanding food, some of the best LIC has to offer, but with terrible service, only one waiter. If you go for lunch you can wait 20-30 minutes till your food comes out. If the service was better and the wait time for food improved I would give 4 stars. Take your chance as the food is excellent but you will have to wait. read more

I have been going to blend for about 5 years, I am in love with their pernil and arroz con pollo, being Hispanic myself I tend to be a bit critical of Spanish food, but this place is great. I work in the area as well, so I always have it delivered to my office for lunch. Amazing food and drinks so my girls and I always dine there to catch up ! read more

Pork and Pickles............... YUUUUUUUUUUM. I love this spot. I crave their pork sandwiches late at night. I'm in NY a lot, and I always hit this place up asap. My girls and I came here for happy hour which turned into dinner!!! We had such a sweet waitress and we each had about three $5 drinks. The passion fruit caipirinha was my fave and my other friend loved the coconut mojito. I had the moqueca which was small but tasty and they split a appetizer sampler. Place is great. Had the Pollo a la Plancha which was the best chicken I ever tasted... My friend had the chicken burger which was ground chicken with sweet potato fries and it looked deeelish. My other friend had the ropa vieja that came in a pretty plantain cup.... Ill def recommend it to anybody that respects fresh gourmet food!!! read more

I went to Blend tonight with my husband - no alcohol available as they are still waiting on their license. Service terrible - waited 45 minutes for an appetizers and another hour for our main course - waiter took off 10% for our inconvenience - will not be back - very dissappointed all round - decor is nice but that is it! read more
