Your food is good. Your delivery service is TERRIBLE. Let me clarify - your delivery people are professional and courteous but the entire process that happens in your restaurant is disastrous. I've been ordering from your restaurant for over 2 years (mainly through Seamless since your phone etiquette is also lacking). The only reason I endure the torture of waiting on my food is because it the best in the area (out of 2 restaurants that deliver Latin food). I placed an order today at 7:44PM and was told my food was in the works and would arrive between 8:25PM - 8:35PM. I got a follow-up confirmation that said my food was on its way and would indeed arrive between 8:25PM and 8:35PM. I placed a call to the restaurant at 8:47PM and after 6 minutes (most of it on hold) it was determined that there was a "mix-up" in the kitchen and none of the steps in the process that I was updated on had actually happened. My food was never made. "We're sorry", you said. I called seamless because at this point I was frustrated and hungry. Seamless said it was unacceptable service given that the restaurant had acknowledged the order ever step of the way. Seamless compensated me for my inconvenience when you refused to. They're committed to good service at every step of the way. But you did sent deserts - so I suppose that makes it all better. read more

I absolutely love this place. My best friend and I come here often. Service is great and the food is amazing. Their chicharron de pollo is to die for. Very well seasoned and crispy. The arroz con pollo as well is extremely savory with all the herbs and spices they use. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Rupert is the best server ever, sit at his section! read more

Took my daughter here for dinner last night. I had a Groupon. I bought it because I really enjoyed my first visit here. However, my second visit wasn't as enjoyable. We were seated at a tiny table even though it wasn't crowded. A bottle of water $6! Seriously? The empanadas were ok, but we could have gone anywhere for that and saved some money. Ordered delivery from a outdated menu that was no longer available. So what I set out to order wasn't available. 35 min wait was acceptable. I ordered the mixed green salad with chicken. The salad came with dressing from a bottle or so it tasted, The chicken had a tinge of green from some type of seasoning that had no bearing at all to taste. Cardboard is a great description. It did have a grilled flavor. Not enough to save the soggy tomatoes. The rice and beans seemed microwaved and was extremely mushy even before mixing the beans and rice together. The yucca fries lacked any type of crispiness and were soaked in a oil that was meant to be flavoring or lack thereof. The Mofongo with chicken was ok but nothing that seemed more than leftover dried green plaintains with chicken covered in a red ragu sauce to cover the appearance. This is my 1st yelp. I needed to let people out there know that if you don't want to cook at home and feel like coming to a place that looks nice to eat low quality food then fine. But otherwise try somewhere else. My wife and I used Blend for catering for our low-key wedding for about 44 ppl. I would give them 10 stars if it was an option. We worked directly with Blend's manager, who came in personally to make sure everything was tip-top. They were punctual, the food was fresh and delicious (including the appetizers - we had 4) and the server they provided was also very helpful. I've always liked this location above all their other chains. The service is wonderful and more intimate. Great for a good reflection, drink, company or no company it's a great place to get lost in thought watch the screen grab a small but strong drink for a good price ($4.50 to 9$). Terrible experience! We got there on a Saturday night when the place was packed. After ordering we waited one hour without seeing any food or hearing from the waiter. Then the first dish came. Two more dishes came 15 minutes later and the last one (we were 4 people) came when everyone was done. The food was bland. The moqueca was a salted coconut milk with 4 shrimps and nothing else. The appetizer sampler came different than described on the menu - we asked the waiter and he said that the description of the appetizers only applies to individual orders but not the sampler of appetizers with the same names. I'm sure few people would agree with that! Then just before we left, the waiter started pounding on the wall behind us, chasing roaches... That was just too much. Blend is a nice place to go to, when one needs something close to home, and at the same time aesthetically pleasing and exciting. I've been to blend a few times. The first- summer, with a sizeable group of friends. Food was more than plentiful and no one was able to finish. And there are absolutely no coplaints when it comes to service. It was speedy and attentive. Atmosphere at Blend is nice, food is recognizable for those not willing to experiment, but there are always twists and additions to meals that are inventive and which you could not find at a latin fusion dive. The other, more recent visit, I ended up sitting at a bar. My mojito had a nice surprise in it, a real sugar cane. It made my drink and the time I spent at blend. Pollo y queso croquettes seemed intriguing and they were delicious. Tapatizers at Blend are definitely worth checking out. read more

My friends took me here for my birthday. The food was very awesome. I had the paella with a classic mojito which was also very good. The only problem with the restaurant was the lack of staff. My friends and I got our main course before appetizers. When we did receive the appetizers the order was messed up, food was missing. The wait for the food was horrible. This was our first time going, and we were not disappointed! The lunch menu has a lot of great options and the prices are extremely reasonable! I had the churrasco with white rice and tostones and was delighted. The rice is slightly bland but the churrasco and chimichurri sauce was delicious. My husband had the steak and cheese sandwich and found that the portion was appropriate and enjoyed his meal. The food and drinks were very good and the prices are very affordable. The atmosphere was very nice. Of the three restaurants I'd say go here if trying to have a good time without spending too much. One of my only complaints is that there was no half & half for the coffee. Not everyone can drink regular milk and not everyone likes Almond milk. I also think our waiter could have been a little more attentive being that the gratuity of 20% was automatically included because we were a group of over 5 people. Blend is an interesting place because I think for the lunch special prices you get a good full meal in that's flavorful and cozy. Was able to get the bistec de pollo lunch with a carne empanada and my friend was able to get the chicken tacos with an empanda and a ice tea mojito. The food was consistently delicious - particularly the beans and maduros, which were great - while the chicken and rice were good. My friend allowed me to try some of his taco and it was loaded and flavorful while he said his drink was good but had a little too much simple syrup. For the price of 8.95 for lunch plus 3 for empanada and 9 for the mojito, you cant beat what you get in terms of value (though, i'd love to have another chicken breast on my plate). Blend is well worth stopping in as the ambiance is cozy and allows for a conversation and even when the restuarant gets loud you're still able to focus on the people sitting besides you. Worst service ever!! I've been here a few times with bad experiences both times. The first time the waiter added $10 tip from the 20% tip I gave him. When I brought my receipt and statement to show the manager, he offered a free round of drinks at my next visit. When returning to use my free voucher, my family and I sat for 45 minutes before being served our food... Mind you this was during brunch hours and there were only 3 tables occupied. To top it off - there was a DEAD FLY in the water that the waitress poured us. When I pointed it out she didn't apologize and proceeded to give my table attitude for the remainder of our visit. I would never return and highly suggest people consider this review when deciding on food... There are plenty of great restaurants in LIC that would never treat a customer that way. read more
