Odering is not done well due to lack of her(his) concentration. taste - undiscribable same taste I felt when I drank it about 15 years ago. Throughout this pandemic, for the past 2 years now, the only human interaction I've had has been with my friend Jane who lives by the UBC campus. We've been regularly meeting for coffee at the Bean Around the World cafe on campus, with its awesome offerings and huge outdoor patio and seating options. However, the last 4 or 5 times we tried to go there, there was absolutely zero parking in the vicinity, so we've been coming to this Blenz instead the past few months. So the biggest assets here? Free and ample street parking for two hours. This is a big, big advantage, as parking elsewhere has been a BIG problem for both my friend and myself. This cafe interior is small, but it's clean. There is a lovely fireplace. The counter people have been friendly (I think we've mostly been dealing with the owners. I've encountered maybe one young adult/student in the two months we've been coming here. All counter staff have been personable, knowledgeable about their offerings and efficient. All our orders have been right). And my drinks and food orders have all been delicious! I've had chai lattés, dirty chai lattés, the Blenz equivalent to a McD egg McMuffin, an almond croissant and a regular croissant (this, over the course of the past 2 months). Everything has been perfect! My friend's orders have also been terrific. Because we've been so happy with our foods and coffees, we keep returning here. The biggest downside is that this place's interior is so small. It doesn't seat many people. Now that the weather is usually awful, people cannot sit outside (and this place has a very small outdoor seating area, anyway. But now that it's usually raining, this is a moot point). When Jane and I came here yesterday, there was zero available seating and we waited 20-30 minutes before a table opened up and we could sit down. read more

Sat like 5 mins, all I get to know is one of the customer service lady is rude. I just sat in and opened up my laptop, planning to make some order after quick check something on my computer, one of the lady comes up to me directly from back (out of people's normal awareness) and just said "I can take your order now." Maybe the text here couldn't tell much but let me tell you the demeanor from her just like saying "if you dare to sit here, buy something otherwise get out." Exactly like that. (Maybe that's just one case, but I went through the reviews and saw some common ones here..) So I left within 5 mins, and I'll never step in this shop again unless people works there understand how to be properly respectful and communicative. read more

This location probably has the best customer service compared to other locations. I have been here numerous times to work on my projects and I seem to see a rotation of staff when I visit. Not that I'm complaining. Actually, I think they're all great. They get their work done, they are mindful at it, too. I was watching one of the baristas removing extra ice from my drink and filled it up with more tea. I also really like the veggie samosa. That's pretty much the only food I get there. I love lentils and potatoes! I think this location is not bad. They're just really busy sometimes. read more

The washrooms are in another part of the building - while they can open the glass side door to the building, they make customers go back outside and enter by a different door. It is very inconvenient. No napkins or stir sticks are available. Everything is behind the counter, and you have to ask for them. The staff is okay, but the female manager is rude, and she shouts whenever she talks to customers or her colleagues. If you want to work or study, you need to have your music in your ear because she's always yelling or laughing loudly if she is there. read more

The drinks here are better than the average Blenz coffee store, and is generally quite quiet when I visit. However, the service is not quite good. The main barista who is always around seemed to be very nice and efficient. However, the others are not so great. They take a very long time to make the drinks, and sometimes make mistakes in your orders. People who don't seem like they work in the store often go stand behind the counter with them to chat. Those of us who drink iced coffee know that you cannot add granulated sugar and milk after the fact to a cup full of ice and coffee and expect it to dissolve and mix well. Even Starbucks, the evil corporate planetary overlord of coffee and upcharges, realizes this and will properly prep your iced coffee without hesitation with milk and liquid sugar syrup. Blenz, on the other hand, is unfamiliar with the concept of adding milk and sugar to coffee. They will happily sell you a cup of black coffee and ice, but will refuse to add milk or sugar syrup to it without an upcharge as, to them, a coffee with milk and sugar apparently resembles a flavoured iced latte and should be charged a hefty premium accordingly. During the ordering process this morning, I asked three times, just to make sure I hadn't crossed into some bizarro dimension, something along the lines of, "So you can't add the milk and sugar syrup that I plainly see behind the counter without charging me for an iced latte, but the milk and sugar on the bar is free?" The response all three times was, "We can add it, but we have to charge you." I aborted my order. In all of my coffee-drinking decades, I have never encountered a coffee shop that won't properly prepare an iced coffee. No more Blenz for me. Also, the plastic iced beverage cups across all of the Blenz locations are horrendously thin. Good luck applying your lid (which, by the way, the coffee overlord would also do for you). read more

Rude manager. Came here on march 14th at around 1pm. My friend happened to have a cup of coffee from a different shop and instead of politely explaining to him that it was not allowed inside, the manager started raising her voice and said that it is inappropriate in HER STORE. When he decided to drink the coffee outside before coming back in she said in a rude tone "take all your stuff too" as he was exiting the door. She is clearly lacking customer service training. read more

As much as I love Starbucks and will forever be a loyal customer, Blenz serves some legit coffee here. Few reasons why I will pick Blenz over Starbucks when I'm in the area: 1. Better tea selection. Their tea lattes are so tasty! If you don't want a strong caffeinated drink or don't want your hands to shake, get their tea lattes. 2. Better food selection. From pastries to sandwiches to a few snacks, I can go there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another good reason to come: free parking! The spots on the streets are good for 1 free hour or you can walk a few steps to the open lot and park there for 2 hours for free! wow. This is almost unheard of when you are near an university. Service is a tad slow but I didn't mind it too much. There are ample seats with outlets. Grab a drink, grab a seat and type/study away! read more

I don't know much about coffee, but my experience here has always been quite good. The staff are so friendly and sweet, especially the lady (she might be the manager?) with long black hair. Made me feel really special! I got a Strawberry Tea Latte, and it was very tasty, not too sweet. What a nice place. read more

If you're a UBC Student you know that there's another Blenz in the village. I, however, much prefer this one because of the location, service and atmosphere. It's located in the brand new Wesbrook Mall Complex and it's a heck of a lot brighter than the one in the village. Lots of outlets, free wifi and open until 10, its a decent spot for a chill study session. If you're there during the day, you can even sit by the new fountain. Coffee is just the usual Blenz standard, better than Starbucks, but not as great as some of the other roasters. read more

I have been to this Blenz a couple of times, as it close to home. I will Not be returning to this location. I ordered 2 coconut lattes, one extra hot. This seemed to be very confusing for the cashier; her response was "do you want the plain latte or the coconut latte extra hot?". I explained that I would like 2 coconut lattes, with only one of them extra hot. When I got my drinks only one was coconut. I mentioned to the barista that it was supposed to be coconut and he replied "well this is what she told me to make".....so no offer to replace it with the correct order. How rude!!! I was seriously unimpressed. Luckily there is a plethora of coffee shops in the neighbourhood so I won't be back to this one! Seriously terrible customer service here. read more

Since I moved to the MBA House, now I have this BLENZ right in the first floor of my apartment! Yeeey! I love how they work until 10PM, I am on of those people that go to coffee shops in the afternoons and evenings rather than mornings =) They have a lot of space inside and bunch of tables outside which are across the fountain, so it's awesome to sit there in sunny hot days! From their drinks, my go-to drink is the belgian hot chocolate in colder days and in hot days, it would be the lemon ice tea! All in all, this BLENZ has everything you need from a coffee shop! read more

I hate this Blenz 'cause every time I do go, the few times that I do, the customer service is completely clueless. I have nothing against students but they were just out to lunch and my matcha latte wasn't made right with the portions as with the other locations. Does it really take that long to make drinks? Terrible service. It took them 15 minutes to get my suprime latte with an extra shot of espresso. And the lady - owner had the audacity to tell me there were others ahead of me, even though they all got there after I paid for my order. They do not have mobile orders so - yes, they screwed up, but no f-ing apology. And the barista got me a drink without that extra shot. So he just dumped it into the cup after I asked him twice. I love Blenz! I never go to Starbucks anymore, the coffee is just so much better tasting here. The service is great, the owner and employees are always willing to chat, or ask me about my day. The latté art makes me so happy, its always beautiful and something a lot of chains never do. I really love coming here. I like this location better than the one on Allison road, the people are just friendlier. Service, and customer recognition at a place like this means a lot to me. If I'm ever having a bad day, this is my go to place. The matcha latté, mochas, and macchiatos are my favorite drinks. The matcha is slightly gritty, which is normal for matcha as it doesn't really dissolve. And the mochas have REAL chocolate in them. No liquid or powder here, just fresh melted chocolate and great espresso. The Samsoas and beef roll are a bit too spicy for me, but I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to spice. The cinnamon roll is great, as are the croissants. Best yet, I can use my spc card here. I've almost certainly made back what I spent on it only counting Blenz. read more

The staff at this coffee shop are so great. Customer service and efficiency are stellar as expected, but their personal demeanour isn't a facade in the slightest. Genuine care, genuine respect, genuine people. Can't beat the surrounding location (I'm sure many consider this 'out of the way', but that will change with time and community growth). This place is Blenz - so obviously as a corporate entity of a coffee shop, I don't find anything really unique or special about this place. The pastries looked shipped so definitely not fresh baked. I had a ham and cheese croissant which was decently good, and the breakfast Blenz tea, which I'm glad was a loose leaf tea. It was pretty good! What I found most off putting is that some of the baristas didn't tie up their hair?!? I find that an instant Health and safety issue. And staff weren't super friendly. Just the front cashier taking our order was pleasant enough. The cafe itself is nice and wasn't dirty. All in all an okay experience. read more

Where do I start? the owner is EXTREMELY rude and has no customer service skills whatsoever. He just came up to me and my friends and said "You can't have any outside food here. Get your food and leave". No warning whatsoever. As we were packing up, he came to us again and said "And clean up your mess". Are you serious? Have some fucking respect. He didn't even ask whether or not we had bought anything there. Was he going to react like that to his customers? You have to respect the customer regardless. You could have kindly informed us of your concern rather than embarrassing us (or yourself) in front of others and telling us to leave. You are a business owner/manager, it would be nice if you had some manners. I'm surprised you were put in charge of this place. Shame on you. Your service wasn't the greatest anyways (long waits, poor service from the baristas, etc..) and you made it worse by your unacceptable behaviour. Drinks are ok, food is horrible. Muffins taste like they have been sitting out for days and are always very stale. Staff are nice except for the owner/manager, who I have seen been rude to both staff and customers on several occasions. I only go here because there's no Starbucks in Wesbrook. read more

Terrible treatment of staff the girl who made my coffee was just training for one of her first shifts I could tell and made a little mistake no big deal but I over heard the store manager say terrible things to her would never come back to this establishment. The owner, Aman, and his wife are really friendly! I usually come with a friend and our toddlers on the way to the park - it's a kid friendly place too! Note that you need a key for the bathroom which is around the corner inside MBA House. Blenz has excellent teas - loose leaf & nice selection. Breakfast blend is a great cuppa. read more

I'm not usually one to go to Blenz for coffee, but this place is worth going to. It's right in the middle of the beautiful Wesbrook Village so it's accessible for all. There's lots of seating, free wifi, and many outlets for people/students to plug in their devices! It's right next to the MBA house where many students go to study so you can walk ten feet and grab a coffee or a treat to satisfy that crave! However, the reason I wanted to write this review was because I wanted to give recognition to the owners and staff who work there. I've worked in numerous cafes/restaurants and so for me customer service is very important. These guys know how to interact with people and they make sure that person gets exactly what they want. They are all so welcoming and kind and it's not always that you'll find a chain to have that sort of atmosphere. These guys do such a good job, it's worth leaving an extra buck for them in thanks! read more
