Black currant lemonade and Double Bacon English Muffin

A bit pricier but is a nice, quiet location that is tucked away and cozy to spend time at. Great for sitting down and getting some work done with many selections. A black currant lemonade and English muffin was 13$ before tip.

One-line review: A fun adventure at UBC, but the jury is still out. My wife was excited about trying this place, so away we went. We found the inside cozy and relatively quiet, as a number of students were there studying. We ordered: - Rose tteokbokki (a melange of boiled eggs, meatballs, mandoo, hash browns, rice cakes, and fish cake in a spicy sauce -- in this case, more than spicy enough. This was fun to try once, but there's not enough food here for what they're charging, so if I return, I'll get something else.) - Strawberry milkshake (fine but unremarkable) Parking is NOT easy or cheap on campus, but because of her work, my wife has free parking not far away, for which I was grateful. The servers were kind to us as first-timers who didn't really know what we were ordering. Bottom line: This looks like an interesting spot, and I'd try it again. But I would NOT order the tteokbokki again -- just not enough there to make it worthwhile.

Line up was a bit awkward.. you're kind of forced to stand outside if it's more than 3 people, and then when you're in you have a short time to look at the menu or food case. We also bought the churro croissants which were unique and pretty good! Lots of seating outdoors, not too much indoors. Staff friendly. Quick interaction.

Where have I been all this time????? And I am a devoted "dog mom", so this place is totally right down my alley! It's tucked away, though, and not so easy to find if you've never been here before, but it's SO worth the time to find it and visit! Hands down, this is the most dog-friendly place I think I've ever been to. Photos of patrons' dogs plaster the walls. Dog notices are posted everywhere. I believe this cafe was named for the owner's Great Dane. People bring their dogs here. It's as dog-friendly as they come. And I love that. The coffee and pastries are fantastic. I hear the lunch sandwiches are good, too. My friend has been here often and says it's consistently good. My biggest issue with this place is the lack of seating. In the summer, sure, you can sit outside on the various concrete half-walls and benches, and there's a large outdoor patio area with a lot of tables and chairs, but in the winter, or on rainy days, there are very few tables and seats here. FYI.

I had the Kadhi Onion Pakora Chawal and it was so good. Nothing too fancy, but just excellent Indian comfort food. I'm not in a place to say whether Indian food is "authentic" or not, but this was not the relatively bland take on Indian food that you might expect from this unassuming brunch place, it was pleasantly rich. And the paratha was so soft and flaky! The portion was also very filling, so good value for your money. I like that the Indian section of the menu has so many (vegetarian) breakfast dishes that most Indian lunch/dinner restaurants don't serve. I'm kind of curious about the Western brunch menu too, but will definitely be back to try more of the Indian food if nothing else. I had a Piña Colada smoothie too. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really do anything for me. They called this a "fruit smoothie" but it was so sweet and tasted closer to a flavoured slush to me. I'd skip the smoothie next time since the main meal was enough. The atmosphere is totally bare-bones, it's not sketchy or anything, there's just absolutely no ambiance to speak of. The staff was nice enough though, especially the person taking orders at the front. It's not a hip brunch place at all, but a great place for some no-fuss good eats. Although I can't speak for the Western brunch stuff, I can definitely recommend you check them out for the Indian dishes if you live around UBC.

This was all $10 and for brunch it is an excellent price. The eggs are really fresh and cooked well (I like mine over easy), the bread is super crisp and buttered where you have the option of adding peanut butter or jam or both as you see fit. The sausages are butterflied such that they can grill the insides, and the hash browns are browned and crisp while soft on the inside. This is my go to hungover meal or meal when I feel like treating myself in the mornings. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for some homemade diner style food!
