Looks like things have changed. Yeah, you know where this is going. I came in for the free coffee by donation to support the Breast Cancer Society. I felt a strange vibe when I entered and noticed that there were very few customers compared to the normally busy shop that I know at the beginning of the year - the last time I visited this Blenz location. With no greeting from the lady at the counter, I walked up to say we are ordering the coffee by donation. She gladly said sure and then asked what size. I said large, and then my guest ordered medium. I then asked where to put the donation, just as I saw the pink donation box. There was no opening to deposit my donation so I asked where to put in the money. The lady fiddled with the box and finally found a hole in the BACK. Although I thought this was unusual, I placed my donation in the box. Meanwhile, my guest noticed that the lady was punching in the drinks and had the credit card machine ready to charge us for the drinks!!!! I asked why she is charging us, and she explained that coffee by donation means we pay for the drinks and then the store donates the money collected. I said all these years (as I've been a loyal Blenz customer since its beginning), it has always been a free coffee and then I donate a sum of my choice. She said well every store is different. My guest and I were quite puzzled, and after looking at each other with a "hmm" look, I said forget it, and told her that she shouldn't be charging us. I almost felt like taking back the donation from the box, mostly fearing that she'll probably take that money for herself as well, but thought it will tacky and classless. So we left, went to another Blenz on Broadway, and there, we were served our coffees properly. With that, I left a bigger tip. read more

I went here last Saturday after having lunch at Namnam Noodle, and Blenz was the nearest coffee shop for a coffee fix. I got my small Latte ($3.95) and it came with cute latte art. Their blackboard drawing was EVEN cuter! This was my first visit after 6-7 years and the atmosphere changed a little bit. I liked the taste of my Latte. Great spot for people watching! Came here for a coffee. The place is quite narrow, so there actually aren't that many tables (maybe 8 at most?) Place closes at 2200, 7 days a week. There's free Wi-fi here. Yay! And the washrooms are quite clean. A good alternative to The Grind nearby, which is usually filled with poor starving students cramming for finals. read more

A thousand coffee shops in lower mainland, however, I haven't buy a cup of coffee at Blenz over a decade. Honestly, there is no particular reason for not return, just probably location/convenience. After we bought a honey on Main Street, we both craving a coffee and found Blenz just cross the street. Just gave it a try. We got a table and sat down for few minutes before we bought the drink. We were ordered 2 matcha lattes for here but we got it in paper cup! Fine! I bought over my coffee over the counter and asked for lid, the staff pointed me over the other end to get it. Unfortunately, it's out of stock! I told him there is no lid on the counter and he turned around and searched at the back without saying a word. We were quite disappointed on our matcha latte! How can be a bitter and non-sweet green tea latte? Just a simple green tea and hot milk, how hard can be? No wonder I don't go Blenz for a decade, now probably not return in the furture. read more

Would not come back! Like the previous yelper, I was a sucker for their "coconut matcha latte". Thought those two would make the perfect pairing. Unfortunately, my drink tastes very bland and the only coconut I could taste was the few shavings they threw on top. Even adding sugar didn't save the drink. More insult to injury: Blendz Coffee, on their computer screen, brags about having "elegant coffee art". Nothing artsy about my drink at all... read more

I was drawn in by the sandwich board advertisement for their vegan turmeric latte. I was feeling pretty inflamed from running a marathon the day before and couldn't say no. I appreciate the staff helping me decide whether I wanted the sweetened or unsweetened version (I went unsweetened but later kind of wished I'd gotten the sweetened - oh well.) Probably the worst breakfast wrap I've ever had. It was a ball of doughy overcooked eggs with none of the listed ingredients and it cost over $7. Like nothing except dry overcooked eggs and a soggy tortilla wrap. Coffee is ok. read more

Pretty solid coffee shop...it's a little small compared to the other Blenz's I've been to around town, but free wifi and a handful of plugs makes it a convenient place to hang out and get some work done. Still not sure it beats Salt Spring right across the street though. read more

One thing that always makes me want to drop in when I am in the area, is the friendly staff. They always greet myself and make time for quick conversation to try and lighten my day. A real definite positive! They also have a nice variety of hot and cold drinks that swing toward the 'specialty' side of coffee shops to try and mix things up. For this I would say prices would fall into being reasonable. read more

I love how this Blenz really gets into a community spirit. Today they had decorated for Halloween and not just one or two dollar store plastic jack-o-lanterns but beautiful orange round avant garden lamp shades and spider webs and giant spiders and straw barrels. It's fabulous. Plus the servers were extremely helpful and when my partner's drink wasn't quite what she wanted they made it right, right away and in a bigger size to boot! We've always loved Blenz - I mean who doesn't just die over real Belgian chocolate - but tonight gave us an experience to remember. read more

I had never visited the Blenz on Main, but I was persuasively captivated by the matcha/coconut latte that was beautifully displayed on its signboard. Matcha and coconut sounded like the perfect marriage so I treated myself to a cup. Unfortunately, I was deeply disappointed. For $6 I expected far more then the bland and tasteless, watered down version of the drink I was expecting. I paid a bit extra for the coconut milk but it was hardly there. The tea was decorated with a few sprinkles of coconut flakes but it wasn't enough to uplift it. I ordered a regular cup, but it was a struggle to even finish it. I ended up pouring half of it down the sink. Some friendly advice: Don't always trust the photos. read more

This location is further up Main street. It is modest in size. The downfall is that they barely have any snacks and certainly ones that don't meet my dietary needs as the other locations do. The barista was friendly enough, however, not sure if he had any idea of my drink inquiry. read more

blenz is a pretty middle of the road in terms of coffee. this location excels because they have free wifi AND plugs for your laptop that you can use. read more

Super friendly staff, said hello and goodbye to everyone and provided travel advice to customers. They helped out with a drink recommendation and made the experience fun. I felt really comfortable hanging out here and would recommend it for someone looking to chill out with a nice view of Main Street. read more

I enjoy the simple and fast service. Some free newspapers were available by the window for a read when I visited after lunch time. not bad.
