I came by on a Saturday afternoon, I was surprised by how packed the small tasting room was. I got a few tasters and sat at the bar. The owner Drew was very friendly and nice to chat with. I enjoyed the ciders, I liked the Ginger Peppercorn the most. After a small sample of the Cardi P I took a bottle of that home. This a great spot, kid and dog friendly that I'm sure I will visit again.

Intimate/cozy hard cider tap room in San Leandro. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and were delightfully surprised at the offerings here. They specialize in dry ciders (not as sweet) with some unique aged twists that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Our server was super accommodating and helpful in building our tasting flight. They also have a lot of board games to keep you entertained while enjoying your cider! Easy dedicated parking in front of the tap room. Highly recommend to make a short stop here if you are in the area!

San Leandro is quickly becoming a brewery hot spot but did you know that there's such a great cider taproom here?! Well, you do now. I first found Blindwood Cider Company on instagram, and when my friends stopped by recently, they let us know they had a trivia night too. I was sold - it was time for me to check it out! Blindwood Cider Company is a little hidden in an industrial area but they do have signs on the main street to direct you to their taproom. There's lots of parking in their parking lot. The taproom is small - it could fit probably ~25 - 35 people at a time and on trivia day, it was poppin'! They were playing a movie on the TV. They have board games available and local magazines to enjoy. And of course, trivia was so much fun. If you win, your picture is displayed on their wall. But of course, let's get to the main point: their ciders (spoiler alert - they're delicious). We tried three different ciders and ended up just getting a bottle of each to share with the table. We tried their heirloom (bottle pour special), ume, and macintosh. All very good with different levels of sweetness. I'm not super knowledgeable about cider so I won't drone off on the tasting notes. But for us, heirloom was the table favorite for the depth of flavor. Ume was good - it reminded me of a japanese plum wine almost. And Macintosh was a solid, true apple taste. There was just one staff holdin' it down the day we went but she was so great! She took the time to chat with everyone and make sure that everyone was enjoying. Can't wait to come back to try more! I didn't get to try the hot mulled cider this time, but it's definitely on my list for next time!

I finally visited this taproom recently and so glad I did! Looking forward to being a regular customer. The husband/wife team behind the ciders is Drew and Cathy. We've had the pleasure of talking to each of them and they are both super nice and sweet! The taproom is only open Fridays to Sundays, selfishly I hope they increase their open hours soon! It's an intimate place, just two long tables, some bar seats, and some chairs. But the ciders are very tasty, high quality, and the flavor varieties are fun! I just had their new seasonal Cardi P - loved the name lol and it was super tasty! They don't serve food so you can bring some if you're hungry lol. Otherwise they sell snacks like chips and crackers! They also sell yummy bottles to go and merch! I enjoy supporting this place, come through and check them out!

I came on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This place is so fun! There was a group of people about 8 sitting at tables. All drinking flights. I think I luckily, missed the big rush. There are fresh flowers on the tables, loved that. There is awesome art, hanging on all the walls, that you can buy. Free board games to play while you drink or byo. You can even byo food. It was a really nice relaxing place to chill, and have some cold crisp cider. I ordered the Honey Sage cider. It was delicious, and would be pair so good with a charcuterie board for sure. I was craving and wanted one to snack on while I had my cider! Come check out this place, it's definitely worth it!

Nice selection of ciders and very friendly owners with a small but inviting taproom. We've had their Honey Sage, Peach & Lemon Verbena, and Hibiscus Mint at other local breweries and really enjoyed them, so decided to stop in upon learning that they had a taproom. We got a flight of their Puns n Roses, Zin, Ginger Peppercorn, Arkansas Black, Nehou Normal, and Jonathan, of which we liked the first two. Also got a bottle to go of their Coffee Chaff and Bourbon Barrel, which was very different from any of the other ciders we tried. We had a good time and look forward to coming back!

Love, love, love! My husband and I have been consistent fans for years now and we were so excited they opened up a tasting room. We both went for the seasonals & specialities on our flights today because we're very familiar with the staples. They did not disappoint! Everything was so delicious! We live in livermore and came here because we just had to experience the tap room. Totally worth it and the customer service is impeccable. You truly feel appreciated here. Cute tasting room and amazing drinks. Highly, highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of going to a private event for a birthday party last night and had the time of my life. Some might say the space is small, but I would call it intimate. My husband and I had the ginger peppercorn and the dry hopped ciders- they tasted amazing. Just enough sweetness but didn't mess my stomach up like other high sugar ciders do. As a gluten free person, I appreciated all the love they put into their ciders, you can definitely taste it. Will definitely be coming back to support this small family business.

A photo of a cheese and cider joint event w/ The Cheese Parlor - absolutely phenomenal.

I didn't know I was a hard cider fan until I tried Blindwood Cider. Their approach to beverage is just so cozy and personable. Blindwood is comprised of a husband and wife duo creating a large variety of unique, delicious ciders. All at incredible price points by the way. Some ciders are made from unheard of single apple varietals. Some ciders are fermented with or flavored by really unexpectedly tasty flavors such as sage or fig. I'd also recommend signing up for their cider and cheese pairings with the Cheese Parlor in Livermore. I don't know how Blindwood and the Parlor create such spectacular pairings, but they do. I've never had a better beverage and food pairing in my life. It's truly magic. Blindwood is incredible and I think everyone needs to go in for a tasting flight so they can begin to experience their awesomeness too!!

I'm not a huge cider drinker, but was intrigued by the Ginger Peppercorn cider from Blindwood that was on the menu at Top Hatters Kitchen, also in San Leandro. Due to some funkiness in the ordering system and recent menu changes, I ended up with a bottle of the Honey Sage (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/blindwood-cider-company-san-leandro?select=o-KUVv_8Qjo8YQdPdOU_og). I informed the server that I ordered the Ginger Peppercorn and at first she thought it was out, but then saw they had it on draft (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/blindwood-cider-company-san-leandro?select=j3HnpVpf1rFDPvnbSEhaIg). Both were a little on the dry side, which I enjoyed more than sweeter ciders I've tried in the past. The botanicals are subtle so not punching you in the face with ginger and peppercorn spice. Again, I liked this restraint. I'd definitely order a Blindwood cider, if I saw it on a menu in the future!

Not sure what to get? Order a flight!

Ya girl has been missing out BIG time. It took me waaay too long to get here, but I finally made it. And, what a gem this place is! I do most of my wine tasting in wine country these days. While I enjoy wine country, I've realized that it has made me neglect all of the wonderful local tasting rooms that I have right here at home. Plus, I'm getting older now and the long drives are getting harder for me to make (and more expensive with these ridiculous gas prices). My goal going forward is to start visiting more local tasting rooms and wineries. Visiting Cote West was the perfect way to start this new journey for me. Came here with a friend last year for a tasting after having brunch and we had an absolute blast! Cote West is located in a small warehouse district in the East Oakland area. It's very unassuming, but you'll notice their adorable front patio area as soon as you pull into the parking lot. They really have it set up so nicely! They've got large barrels to taste on with high chairs and large umbrellas to keep you shaded during those warm and sunny days. Their indoor tasting room is cozy but modern and chic with bright and colorful décor. They even have a large barrel room in the back where they host both private events and public parties! It's really a beautiful space. Jill and Pablo were our hosts and they were super friendly and inviting! We both decided to do a tasting but you can also purchase wine by the glass and light bites here as well. A tasting is $20 for 5 wine pours from their current tasting menu (tasting fee is only waived for members). The pours are very generous and they have a pretty diverse wine list. Also to note; they are the only tasting room in the city that produces their own wine on site! So, not only is their barrel room used for events, but it's actually 100% functional. Walk-ins are welcome but you can also make reservations (especially during their busier seasons). As I mentioned before, they have a very diverse wine list that features some very unique and less common wines. In fact, this was the first time that I ever tried Pet Nat (Petillant Naturel) and Orange Wine. Pet Nat is a sparkling wine that has allowed to ferment and finish in the bottle. I'd honestly have to say that this was my absolute favorite wine to taste here. It was so light, tropical, and effervescent. The perfect sipping wine for a warm day. Also really enjoyed their super floral and earthy Pinot Noir. It was definitely a Pinot by total definition and it had all of the wonderful elements that I love in a Pinot. Wasn't the hugest fan of the orange wine, but it was fun to try it for the first time. Jill did an excellent job of explaining the history of the tasting room and the wines. We also enjoyed hearing about the wines from Pablo, but we did feel a bit rushed by his during our tasting. To be fair, we did come about and hour before closing, and he didn't rush us after we paid and lingered for a little while afterward. For the most part, their wines are decently priced but I did feel that their red wines were a bit high. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed most of them and we had a great experience here. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking to wine taste locally.

Upon driving there we were worried how parking would be given all the incidents recently in Oakland, but were pleasantly surprised that's its in a nice parking lot that's a bit secluded. The venue is perfect for a event of ~100 persons. My friend was able to bring her own food and the wine were provided. Perfect baby shower venue TBH! We got to try their sparkling wine, their Grenache, and the cab. I ended up sticking to the cab the entire day. We love how the garage door opens up to the outdoor, so both indoor/outdoor seating were available. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming. I loved how they provided a little tasting during the event as well. At the end we helped clean up the venue and the staff also helped as well. This seemed like a super chill and fun ambiance to host any event, while also letting the guests enjoy a bit of wine from the bay. I may have to book this spot for my future events!
