Blip is one of the coolest coffee shops i have ever been to! The way it's secluded and if you're not really looking for it, you might just miss it! I went for my first time on a Saturday morning for free yoga! The space was so huge it could have a 20+ people doing yoga with their mats. The instructor was wonderful and really sweet. After the class ended, we got a discount and got some drinks. I got the matcha with oat milk (I luv that they don't charge extra for alternative milks) and xtra vanilla. It was delicious and everyone else enjoyed their drinks. I can't wait to come back and explore more of this huge space!
While traveling cross country from TN to CA, wanted to find a local roaster. Yelp beehive did not disappoint, because this place already had a five-star rating. If you're not local from KC, you might think you've gotten yourself lost despite using a mapping app. Then like a bottle of water in the middle of the desert, their beautiful white building emerges among the warehouses. The vibe is super cool. Part roaster, part coffee shop, part community meeting house, part motorcycle accessories store. Our barista was super friendly and cool. I especially loved his rose tattoo on his forearm. I ordered a hot latte, with homemade lavender syrup. My partner ordered a latte. The roast blend is absolutely delicious. Rich, full-bodied, but not bitter. Unfortunately, I've gotten rid of my coffee machine at home or I would have purchased some beans. Whether you need a stop on the road, or you're a KC local, hurry on up into this wonderful hidden gem.
I tried this shop out for the first time and we parked around back. It is huge! Lots of seating but in larger tables, so you may have to share with others if you come alone or as a couple. There are a few places for two people to sit by themselves. They have a very cool shop with accessories for motorcycle enthusiasts. In fact they sold about 5 helmets while we were there. Nice bike displays and a variety of artwork to view. The coffee was good, they have limited syrups because they make them in house but the vanilla I chose was excellent. My husband chose a mocha and it was good as well. At first we sat in a large leather couch which was comfortable but the music was too loud in that spot (we were reading) so we moved towards a wall with tables and it was fine there. They also allows dogs which I don't mind and love animals, but there was a patron that purchased a snack and was trying to work on his laptop and an adorable puppy was begging for his snack and barking off and on to get his attention about it. So dog lovers, great place for a coffee but if allergic or other issues just know the policy.
Blip has been around since 2014--first as roasters, then adding pour-over service (my favorite), and now as a full-fledged coffeehouse. This spacious warehouse is also a motorcycle-centric community hangout for enthusiasts. Located in the East Bottoms on Mulberry, Blip hosts Sunday morning motorcycle meet-ups at 7 a.m. You'll also find events like the poetry slams with Fountain City Poetry and weekly yoga classes--check their calendar for dates and details.
I loved my visit to Blip Roasters! It has a cool, relaxed vibe and is in the West Bottoms. The best part is they roast their own coffee beans and use them to make all their drinks, which makes it special. The space has a big warehouse setup, with a coffee shop in the front and an area in the back for parties or weddings. I ordered a cortado, and it was really good. It is pet friendly, and the staff is really courteous. I'd give the whole experience a 10/10!!!
What a great new place to explore. Reminds me so much of old LoDo in Denver. A welcoming environment with kind faces and smiles. It was fantastically clean and family friendly. I ordered my normal, iced Carmel latte with almond milk and it was fantastic. I love the off street parking too. The area is super safe too! My only feedback would be to have more food options, they are all out of pastries and had limited items on the menu.
Such a cool coffee shop located in the West Bottoms. Huge open concept space with half dedicated to motorcycle gear and the other for tables to relax and enjoy your coffee at. I personally love coming here to study as there are lots of tables and good internet access. Nice blend of people that come in so don't be timid if you aren't a motorcycle person (I can't say that I am), but still such a nice space! Pro tip, order the breakfast burrito with chorizo it is delicious!
Blip roasters is a really cool space that fuses coffee, motorcycles, and other merchandise! The ambiance presents an industrial charm and the space itself is quite spacious with plenty of open seating. This would be a great study spot. They also have a vintage photo booth that works, if you wanted to snap some pictures with friends. The coffee itself tasted great. We ordered the oat milk latte, iced banana latte, and bourbon vanilla draft latte. All options were solid, but I highly recommend the banana latte. It highlighted the banana flavor in a subtle, non-artificial way. The bourbon vanilla draft latte had a very strong aroma of bourbon, which caught me by surprise. I personally do not like bourbon too much, but for those that do, I think you would enjoy this drink! The croissants here are amazing. We tried both the almond croissant and the regular croissant. I haven't enjoyed a croissant this much in a while. There was a chewiness aspect to the croissant that was so good. It was perfectly flaky and buttery as well. Whether you're a motorcycle enthusiast or just a coffee lover looking for a cool atmosphere, this place is a must-visit.
Yes folks, this is a coffee shop designed around those of us who prefer two wheels to four. I am by no means saying you would feel out of place if you drove in on your four wheels to snag a tasty cup of joe, but you will see the streets liked with every kind of bike, trike, and even scooter you can imagine. The line does get long but it moves very quickly so don't be discouraged when you see it wrapped around a table or two. The coffee was good, the atmosphere was better!! read more

It's such a cool place! The combination of motorcycles and coffee, interesting. The location is thoughtful for the motorcyclists, like it's in the industrial area with not much traffic. When walked in the store, I can immediately notice that most of the customers are motorcycle enthusiasts, the store is quite spacious with a space to display lots of cool helmets and also things for sale related to the motorcycles. However I couldn't feel myself fit in this place although the store puts the efforts to make it a comfortable relax place. There are sofas, plants and the spacious yet quiet place for people to enjoy themselves. I ordered cappuccino to go. The flavor was good. There is a bit flavor of almond or nut in it. They have good coffee! I will consider coming back when I have friends visit in town to show them this cool place! read more

I had the best time at Blip! My mom and I went with my daughter and it was nice to see how friendly everyone was. I love how bright and open it is in the front of the building! But then it goes to this really awesome laid back area with moody lighting, (that happens to have the comfiest and coolest looking couch!) It's nice to be able to have a bar to sit at and enjoy if you want, or to got back to some tables and/or really cool seating. My mom also pointed out how awesome the age range is of customers that they have. Sometimes I take her places that have a younger crowed of people who aren't past their 30's lol. But there were all times folks at Blip which was awesome to see the dynamic. Their retail is insane! Very biker oriented but also some fun stuff even if you aren't into biking. I love a good biker hangout that doesn't scream "bar scene." I got a vanilla latte with almond milk, which is generally my go-to, but I've been reading about their chai lattes, so I might have to mix it up the next time I go! Which I will be back to hang out outside on the platform now that it's finally getting nice out! read more

Such a cool spot! Went on a Saturday and they had several vendors selling their products/food. Lots of seating and cool atmosphere. The coffee was great as well. I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was delicious! They have house made syrups and don't upcharge for alternative milks. The location was a bit odd, but definitely worth a trip! read more

Stopped by Blip for coffee and a pastry. The space is HUGE and not at all what I was expecting. It was chilly when we were there- I'd recommend wearing warm clothes if it's cold out. The barista was friendly and answered our questions about the pastries. My hazelnut latte with oat milk was delish! Pastries were pretty good too. We got the blueberry muffin and a scone. I will definitely be back if in the area around breakfast time. read more

1st time going here, We were in the neighborhood so naturally my friend talked me into getting a coffee. I was kinda blown away by the atmosphere to be honest, reminds me of the tv show friends where they have couches and tables and could just hang out.. pretty chill vibe, people were very friendly. They have a mandatory mask policy and they have masks/hand sanitizer at a small table when you walk in. I ordered a iced vanilla latte "very delicious" they shake it up like a drink at the bar which i have never seen before... If I'm in the neighborhood I will definitely stop in again. read more
If you haven't been to the new Blip Roasters space, drop what you are doing and go there now. It is absolutely beautiful. So spacious with tons of natural light coming in. Perfect place to work or just catch up with a friend. All employees and customers were wearing masks and respecting social distancing. The vibe inside is great - different bikes and helmets, furniture and plants. There is also outdoor seating. I wasn't sure what I wanted and the barista recommended the cascara tea. They gave me a taster since I've never had it before and it was delicious. Will definitely be back soon. read more

Great coffee, relaxed atmosphere, and some of the nicest people you'll meet. You don't need to ride a motorcycle to enjoy this motorcycle themed joint, but if you do make sure you stop by on Sunday mornings for the weekly meetups. Drink Coffee and Be Happy read more

I came here to check out Slow Rise who was doing a pop up, but man was I impressed with Blip! It was a Sunday morning and when we pulled up there were hundreds of motorcycles and I felt like I was walking into a biker bar ha. Blip is huge with tons of seating and it was hopping! I got the seasonal Moon Pie latte and it was everything. The toasted marshmallow on top was so fun! Such a unique coffeeshop for KC! read more

Been all over KC, Blip has great coffee with the best prices in town. They also have the most comfortable seating with tons of space so you will not feel stacked on top of others. Come check it out, but don't stay too long, I found it, its mine! read more
Blip is a super cool coffee shop! The atmosphere and decor fits in nicely with the surrounding area and, the interior seating is way larger than I would have expected. Blip has some very fun shirts, hats, and knickknacks for sale in their shop as well. The iced coffee and granola bar were both very solid. My one complaint is that they have almost no outdoor seating (just a few lawn chairs). They've got a great area for a fun patio just outside the front door! read more

I stopped in the other day... Could not have been more pleased with with experience. Coffee was excellent, presentation was fantastic, service was very friendly. They have an awesome selection of riding gear and accessories. I cant wait to make this a regular stop. Thanks blip! read more
Blip continues to breathe life into the burgeoning West Bottoms, adding in a unique, high quality, hyper local coffee presence to the area. Their packaging is simple yet effective - the owners say it has a bit of a skate-shop branding and they package the freshly roasted beans in a biodegradable bag placed inside a cardboard that helps keep the light away from it. The labels even include notes about the particular beans, e.g. direct trade, floral and fruity, etc. I discovered them on the Caffeine Crawl, and have to say, it was my favorite stop. They've taken over an older space and made it fit for them, equipped with a cool small roaster and just space for them to operate. Right now their coffee is available on their website, through 'pop-up pourovers' on First Friday weekends and soon to be through a walk-up cafe. The plans for the walk-up cafe look great, essentially like an older ice cream spot where you order from the window and then feel free to grab a spot on the patio surrounding the space. During the Caffeine Crawl, they made us their specialty, a pourover using their Guatemala beans. Amazing - it was stronger than many pourovers, full of flavor, chocolaty and well-crafted. They also had some cold brew with a partnership from Alchemy coffee in Lawrence. I'm self-admittedly not a fan of cold brew at all, so not my cup o' coffee. I'm looking for big things from Blip because they seem experienced, honest and roast damn good beans. Matter of fact, I bought a couple to go and am enjoying them this morning. For the longest time I thought my drip coffee maker was broken because it wasn't getting all the flavors just right, but turns out I just wasn't putting the best coffee in it! read more
'Blip' that quick, snap of the wrist turn and release on the throttle making that engine Rev sound. Coffee can be alot like that. Like most of westbottom locations blip has an old industrial feel. Climb the old wooden stairs to the platform to the front door. Coffee bar is long and simple. Menu offers espresso, latte, cappuccino, americano or the coffee of the day. Chocolate or vanilla shots and almond milk sub available. The same personable fella works the shop from 7-2. A couple chairs at the bar and a couple along the walls. Across from the bar the wall has some motorcycle gear available, helmets, T-shirts. Can't get any better than parking almost right up to the door. read more

Let's Go! Absolutely love this little gem . Conferee is fantastic and the breakfast burritos are under rated. Beat of all the staff is very friendly. Easily my favorite coffee shop in Kansas City or anywhere for that matter. I choose to come here from the Lee's Summit area exclusively for the culture. Ian has done a lovely job of bringing together a community of like minded individuals and motorcyclists. Anyone is welcome here and you really feel it. Everyone is very personable and approachable. There's no better place to be on Sunday mornings. Come get some coffee. We'll probably like you better. read more
So that's where you went, Blip! I'd stopped in a few times in 2015, then somewhere along the way a move was necessitated by something like a building fire--or so I thought I heard. You disappeared momentarily and then faded from memory. My loss. Yesterday while cruising the West bottoms with the missus looking at various antique joints, there you are! Oh, but how I love the new space. See, here's what I love about coffee places and I'm afraid the two for me are inseparable: I love reclaimed buildings, old stores that have seen their best days--or so we think--that get used again for this purpose. A break from the everyday corporate chain joints which to tell the truth I won't touch unless I'm stuck in an airport and it's the only choice. I love the big, wide open spaces, the comfy old couches and work spaces, the smell of beans roasting and espressos being poured. My next trip to KC for some out of the home office work time? Yea, I'm headed here. That should be enough, but the young lass that poured flat whites for us just absolutely nailed them. Perfect. Would have loved to try something more undiluted but being mid-afternoon I stick to the sissy things with a bit of milk. But the smooth, chocolaty espresso was unmistakable of the finest quality. No bitter, acrid business that makes your eyes cross. This was coffee porn in a cup. Turn your head, please, while the filming takes place, as I take another sip. That was a freakin' great cup. Can they repeat it? I'll find out soon and pretty sure I already know the answer. read more
Total cool hipster place as you can get. First coffee place I've seen that has aligned itself with the motorcycle in all its glory. Even their location is too cool! To the coffee and other things... the espresso was sharper than I'd like with minimal crema. But like IPAs it seems to be more the norm these days. And in true hipster behavior, I wasn't acknowledged for a bit. Not too bad though. Lots of logo'd merch everywhere. There's a large community table along with some smaller tables and chairs in the back. Their microroaster is also in the back. read more
Very spacious and industrial place with a motorcycle theme. Lots of cool seating areas and really tasty coffee. It's a little off the beaten path from the west bottom area but definitely within about 10 minute walk. They have a selection of a few sandwiches and some tasty pastries. Definitely worth a stop, you'll be glad you did. read more

Ian will set you up with coffee. I've walked by here a few times, and he doesn't charge for a cup of coffee. He's luring you in with something amazing AND free, so be nice and buy the beans. No bothering with cream and sugar, won't need that. This is the motorcycle coffee shop in the West Bottoms. They have a great back porch with their industrial space, with a good line of merchandise to boot! Come by on a weekend to grab a coffee before you check out the antique stores. Or, pull up on your motorbike and find some appreciation. read more

Space is beautiful. Theater seats, concrete floors, and large exposed ceiling. Aesthetic game on point. People (both baristas and customers) are mad friendly. In the 10 minutes I was in the shop the barista greeted everyone who came in, chatted with seated customers and even offered a guy his phone charger. That's where it's at. Coffee is delicious and a great price ($2 for a cup). Would highly recommend. read more
