I don't get my nails done often but was attending the funeral services of someone very close to me and wanted to get a gel manicure to represent his favorite flowers, sunflowers. A friend of mine had a gift card here to use I don't usually go to that salon but we couldn't find the gift card but I had already called ahead to see if they had time for a gel manicure, the woman said the did and I told them I would be there in ten minutes. she took me right away but when a regular came in for an appointment at the same time as me, that she had forgotten, she told the girl to wait 15 minutes in which time she did my entire manicure. I am in customer service and still left a 20$ tip but she did not do a good job. one of my gel nails already fell right off 2 days later. they are thick, messy, not filled to the cuticle, she never had me wash my hands, never took the dirt from under my nails, she did not follow the photo I showed her of the sunflower but rather made her own flower up. it was just a disappointing experience as this was sentimental to me and I was obviously not a priority. I'm sure they do amazing work for their regulars and I appreciate them taking me but to get a 20$ tip for a 15 minute rushed job was frustrating. so maybe before you go, make sure they have the time. read more

my sister and i booked appointments for manicures and pedicures the day before. walked in 5 minutes prior to our appointment time at 3 pm on a tuesday and were informed our appointments were cancelled. they explained that they had called twice to confirm that morning and nobody answered. my sister was at work and could not pick up the phone nor did they leave a voicemail letting her know who was calling. we will not be coming here again. much better places with better costumer service in the area. read more

I was in search of a new salon after my move to Pittsfield. I was disappointed with my experience at other places and was unsure of going somewhere new. I got my nails done by Bella earlier this afternoon, I went in with no vision and asked for her to work her magic and create nails that had a flower on one nail and she chooses the rest. I was amazed she used a real flower in the nail. She was meticulous, thorough and sweet, i loved what she created and this made me confident that this is my new salon. I go to Bella once a month for my dip manicure. I usually show her two or three pictures and incorporate ideas from each one, then tell her to do her own thing based on the elements I like. She kills it every time! People who went to Bliss before the change in ownership may not have liked some of the workers at the time, myself included. They are gone now. You have to be patient with scheduling because Bella is on her own now, but she can get you in ASAP. read more

i've gotten my nails done here before, and when she did it that time they were not good at all!!! This time we booked a big appointment for my birthday to get my nails done with my friends. yes we running a little bit late, but we had booked the first two morning appointments, so even if we missed the first appointment, we still had the second appointment. When we went, she said that she couldn't take us because she already had called someone from a appointment to come in to our appointment because we were late which didn't make sense at all because the first two morning appointments were still us. I've also seen some of the other pictures of nails that she's done for other clients and most of them are not good at all, and I don't even know how she has maintained to keep her business open. she also charges extra even though she's only one person working, which makes no sense again. luckily we went to another nail salon that took walk-ins. They took our entire group. They were a bigger business not that that has anything to do with anything, but we were all able to be getting our nails done at the same time the price was the same if not cheaper and on top of that we got massages with them which I think is great and the nails were so good as well. I called to have dip nail polish removed. While the salon was able to accommodate on short notice I was told when I got there they only accept cash, so a trip to atm was made. My hand were put in a liquid to dissolve the polish and then sanded down with an electric brush. I left qith stuff like glue all over my hands and rough nails that needed more filing. When I handed her the cash and asked for change, a comment was made making me feel rude for asking for change so I could determine what to tip. Because I felt rude at this point they ended up with a 33% tip for a job I dont even necessarily feel warrants tip at all read more

I gave this place a chance twice, and both times, I was met with the same result. I asked for a gel mani but they start to peel, lift and chip incredibly fast. I'm talking within a couple of days and then progressively gets worse. I've gotten dip and/or gel manis for the last 6 years and there's never been such an issue with peeling and lifting off the nail bed for me. The first time I went, the older man soaked them off/used a little bit of the drill and I was charged $35. The second time, the woman wrapped them in foil (even though there wasn't much to wrap bc so much had peeled off already) and I was charged $40. There were also 3 customers who walked in the door while I was still halfway through my mani and she began to noticeably rush - so they may double book or overlap appointments too closely as both times I wasn't seen immediately. When I went to pay and asked why it was $40, no one answered me. So I called back and was then informed it's $5 extra for a "soak off." The man who usually answers the phone is nice and there are very clear regulars but I will not be returning to this salon. read more

A very disappointing experience/-serious fail at customer service. I went to Bliss spur of the moment because I was next-door at the UPS store and brought a guest to treat her to a manicure while I had a pedicure. I was going to go to another store. The person who did my pedicure was on the phone almost the entire time and was borderline rude whenever she communicated with me. It was very clear that she could've cared less about me as a person or helping me. When she finished, she simply got up and said to stay and sit, but gave me no time frame, and when I asked how long it was going to be, she seemed irritated and kept saying the same time. They have no dryers if heat lamps. It wasn't much different for my friend who I treated to her first manicure in the US as she has moved here from out of the country. The person with her absolutely seem to have no interest in her either and talked on the phone and the whole thing was very disappointing. Very accommodating and well done, especially during COVID. Made an evening appointment 2 days ahead and they were ready to serve us on time and seemed to have good social distancing measures in place (glass screen between customer and technician), only a couple people in the salon at once, Saran Wrap in the pedicure station and extra cleaning measures. The only things I thought were a bit strange were 1) that they didn't have typical Essie nail polish. I'm not sure what brand it was but they had their own colors they used and I didn't recognize any names or anything but a big palette to choose from nonetheless, and 2) the man who did my nails, while he was very nice, he had to undo a lot of the nail polish that went over on my skin with remover using a brush. Not sure if he was new or just not the best manicurist, but the female (his "boss") who took over did a much better job on my toes. This shouldn't happen on every finger when you're paying for a mani pedi with a professional. Either way I'd go back because they were friendly and clean and nails still look pretty good. read more

From not getting seen until almost half an hour after my appointment time (I was 5 minutes late but called to tell them that) to getting my cuticles ground down with the dremmel tool, to getting my skin sanded by the emery board, to a normal hour long appointment only taking maybe 40 minutes, not an overall nice experience. I brought my own ANC powder (like I do to every salon I go to), and the guy stated he wasn't sure if it was dipping powder or that it would work (clearly marked on bottle as dipping powder) As he worked with the dremmel tool to clear off some of the old ANC, he kept grinding down my skin, I'm surprised I wasn't bleeding. When he was filing the nail with the emery board, he filed more of my skin than the nail. He left some of the old stuff on one hand, not sure why, he had to have seen it (I mean, I could see it) The nails on one hand are shorter than the other, the shapes on the nails are different on both sides and I felt he was trying to hurry up and get me out of there. read more
