I suck at doing anything with my hair, so if I ever want to feel pretty and want something different, I go to the pros! I wanted soft curls for my normally long straight hair for a special event I had. I booked an appointment online and chose Christina (purely based on her name!) I am SO impressed with her! My curls came out exactly how I wanted them and they even lasted more than 48 hours! I have never gotten so many compliments before. Christina was super nice and quick. It took probably 20 minutes! The particular stylist I got was all about getting me in and out as fast as possible. Didn't even take time to ask how I was doing. As far as the blo out- very mediocre. Didn't last, very little volume, rushed and sloppy. I could have done a better job myself. They also said they would email me the receipt- never received it. Yesterday was my first visit to the blo out lounge. I was having my maternity pictures done. I had Yvette for my makeup and Sascha for my hair. Wasn't the worst but wasn't the best. I asked for lose waves and the curls were much tighter than I wanted. Makeup was good for pictures after I came home to touch it up (eyebrows were uneven, eyeliner was not straight, & I had eyelashes applied which started coming off before we even started taking pics). I am very picky and have thick wavy hair, and I went to makeup school before becoming a nurse, so maybe I'm more particular than most! I purchased a package so I will be going back in a few weeks to try some other stylists, but overall I had to come home and touch up both hair and makeup before it was what I wanted. But like anywhere, & as I've asked around there's good and bad so I will try again and hope for the best! read more

My mom called to make an appointment to get her hair washed, dried, and styled (she can't do it herself because she just had surgery and can't lift her arms). The receptionist that answered the phone was very rude without any reasoning when my mom asked if they had any earlier appt than the end of the day. Just a tip from a fellow person working in the costumer service industry: rudeness and a bad attitude on the phone drives customers away. read more

I just had my hair blown out by Stephanie, and she did a phenomenal job! She asked what style I had in mind before we started, and asked how much product I was comfortable with her using. I thought this was so considerate, because there's nothing worse than paying for a blowout, only to have it get greasy and weighed down by product a couple of days later. So let me start off by saying I booked my appointment over a month in advance for my baby shower. I called to make my appointment and requested 8am on a Saturday and was told they do not open until 9am- even though the website says 8am. Okay, no problem, 9am will have to do. So I requested my hair be done by Anet, based on reviews I had read, she seemed fantastic and I wanted to make sure I had someone great for my special day. Well a month goes by, the day before my appointment I receive an email confirmation, confirming my appointment with Bryttani, not Anet whom I had specifically requested. I called the salon to ask about this and what happened and was told that Anet was never redlined (meaning booked officially with me) and so she got placed with another client, but was assured that Bryttani was great and would take good care of me. I again said okay, no problem, not trying to make a big deal out of things, it was just frustrating/disappointing to say my first experience with the Blo Out Lounge in Valencia, and I already felt like I got screwed over when I had made my appointment so far in advance. So I show up Saturday morning at 9am for my appointment and see that there is at least 1 girl in there who already had her hair done and was now getting her makeup done. I thought to myself, huh, I thought they didn't open till 9? This girl had clearly been in by 8, and to me it was just another "wtf moment" since I was told they did not open till 9. Maybe they make special exceptions for VIP clients? If they don't open till 9 they should really update the website. Anyways....Bryttani begins taking care of me. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for (based on a previous blo dry bar I had been to) and she said "okay curls" and that was that. My experience sitting in the chair with Bryttani was slightly uncomfortable- while she wasn't mean or rude, she wasn't particularly friendly or made me feel at ease. She had a frown on her face the entire time and looked completely disinterested in being there and doing my hair. Another co-worker walked into the building and said hello to her and then even said "whats with the frown" and kept walking. So it really wasn't me just imagining this, her coworker had noticed this and commented as well. I recognize that sometimes people have off days, it just really put a damper on the beginning of my special day, to be displaced from the original stylist that I was supposed to be with, only to be placed with a girl that made me feel like it was a hassle for her to be doing my hair. Like I said, she wasn't mean or rude- and I'm not trying to bash, but she wasn't really friendly either, and I think most women like to feel comfortable and at ease while getting their hair done, or any service for that matter. She finished my hair and it was a bunch of tight curls (not at all like the picture I had shown) and she told me, "don't worry they will fall down". While I'm sure that is true, and perhaps why she gave me the tight curls, it was another "fail moment" when it wasn't the look I was going for. Had my overall experience been a positive one, the hair wouldn't have been so much of a let down. Like other yelp reviewers have said, this place has a lot of great potential but some of the stylists really need an attitude adjustment. read more

Just left the salon with a happy mother, first time ever coming to this salon. Thought it would be a good idea for my mom to have her hair done as part of her bday gift. It was so much fun. The receptionist was kind and they got her set up with Lynn, she asked my mom all kinds of questions about how she like her hair done? How much curl? She was sweet and made my mom feel comfortable. They served us Mimosa, right then and there they had me! I looked at their prices for other services and they're so well priced. For a wash blow dry and style it was 35 dollars. They do make up as well for a lil bit more but it's worth it! My mom left feeling fabulous and happy. Everyone was friendly and smiling. I went for a "try-out" yesterday in anticipation for a special event later this month. Brittany (I believe that's an incorrect spelling of her name) was sitting at the front desk, gave me a friendly greeting, and took me right in. My hair was a little disheveled so I showed her a picture of how it should look. I appreciate that she asked if she could use various things like product and a straight iron but since I have a Brazillian blow-out, it was not necessary. My hair looked great when I walked out and it still looks great this morning! I made an appointment with her for the day of my event. I would give 5 stars but the rest of the girls who work there are not friendly. I expect that when I'm receiving a personal service and look someone in the face with a smile, I get one in return, even if they aren't providing the service. The girl at the front desk, who took my payment, was indifferent to my presence and didn't thank me for my visit. Some customer service training is in order here. read more

I went here to get my hair and make up done for a 40th birthday dinner party. Sarah did my make up and I loved it. It looked glamorous but still pretty natural. I think it was Amanda who did my hair. I'm very pleased and thankful for the service I received. Everyone is so nice, courteous and very helpful. I came here after having a really bad skin reaction from threading the peach fuzz on my face for the first time the day before. By the time I got to the blowout lounge my face was swollen and super red in some areas to say the least. The owner who happened to be the one doing my make up that day went above and beyond what I expected. She immediately got her onsite skin specialist involved and started treating my skin as best they could considering the time I had to be ready for my event. My skin got so much better and the awesome job she did on my make up, specially my eyes, took away the attention from the blemishes on my face. Very glad I came here! This review is long overdue. My daughter had been getting blo outs routinely and was happy with their services. I bought a package of five blo outs since she was going so often. On her last visit she called me and said it was $10 more because she had long hair. I went in and asked the receptionist when did that start and I had prepaid for her blo outs with the package I bought. She said she would let the owner know and have her call me. I never heard from her so I emailed her. She told me that it is their new policy. I asked even though it doesn't take over the hour to do her hair and she said yes. I inquired would my prepaid blo outs still be honored and I was told that I would have to pay the extra charge. It doesn't say anywhere that the blo outs would not be honored if prices changed. I asked to be refunded for my remaining prepaid blo outs. The owner is not customer service oriented. I have owned a business and I would never risk losing a customer over a pricing issue especially if it was part of a prepaid package There are a lot of places to get a blo out and I my daughter gets her blo out for $25 regardless of the length or what she wants done instead of the $50 they were charging me. read more
