In the current world of "upsell, upsell, upsell" our experience with this great company has been truly refreshing and very positive. We had another company come by and quote on chimney cleaning for both our residence and one of our rental properties... the initial $165.00 quote was suddenly bumped up to over $500.00 due to some potential issues with the flashing, damper and caulking outdoors. Quite a shocker, luckily we were told "they're optional" but still, not quite reassuring. So - we decided to go with Blodgett. John arrived on time at our residence, looked over the overall state and to our surprise almost everything looked fine. Which meant a but of touching up, reorganizing the ceramic logs (we'll have them changed out by John in a couple of years) and putting some high temperature black paint in the firebox. They came to clean out the chimney and also gave us some advice since we were in the middle of renovating the fireplace. I think they took our fireplace gas key accidentally but it took quite a while to actually get someone on the phone. Once we got in contact, he said he would check if he had it but if not, he would order us a new one. No follow-up so just had to buy another key. Was looking for a company to clean my HVAC air ducts for my apt. I had 3 vents and 1 return air vent to be cleaned. The technician Cory was punctual and got started cleaning right away. He opened up all the air vents and cleaned them as well as opening up the HVAC to clean the blower. He gave us a washable filter for the HVAC and taught me how to replace. Overall took about 1.5-2 hrs since we chatted a bit. The price was reasonable compared to other companies and we got lucky that there was a cancellation so I went with them to get the air ducts cleaned sooner than later. This is our first time getting the air ducts cleaned in a 30 year old apt. The cleaning doesn't really change anything but more of a piece of mind that you have less dust blowing in the air when you run the HVAC. read more

We were tremendously pleased with Blodgett's Cleaners! We just bought a home built in 1950 and the fireplace hadn't been used in decades. We were having big issues with water leaking in. Blodgett's was speedy in sending a technician out to evaluate it, he was able to do the interior fixes on the spot to get the gas fire functional again, and spotted some massive cracks in the exterior of the chimney that could've quickly turned into big problems. They were able to perform the exterior work within two days of evaluating. We were very comfortable with the technician being in our home, his work was high quality, and he made a point to leave it beautiful and tidy. I love how their website explains the process and what to expect. They have been around since 1952 so you know they know what they're doing and have decades of experience. On the day of the duct cleaning, I received a text that Landon was on his way with tracking and estimated time of arrival. Landon was very courteous and respectful. He wore a mask not only for his protection but for ours as well. I very much appreciated the thoroughness of his process and we rest easy knowing our vents are clean. We had no idea how backed up with lint our drier vent was and why our clothes were taking much longer to dry. The equipment he used was very heavy duty and had the thunderous sound of an F16 Viper. I recommend going to another room further away from the setup if you're on a zoom meeting or conference call. But, the suppliers fault. Also, the supplier was not willing to correct the issue with Blodgett's. Fortunately, Blodgett's solved the problem by going to a different supplier at the last minute.
