Recently, I thought I might have a dead rat in my fireplace and was hoping for a same day appointment, but he wasn't available. I ended up calling another company, and they came out and immediately tried to upsell me on multiple expensive services. Something didn't feel right, so I decided to get a second opinion and called him back. When he came out, he did another fireplace sweep and also repaired cracks in both the exterior and interior of my fireplace. He took the time to carefully inspect everything and honestly told me those additional services the other company recommended were not necessary. I really appreciated his honesty and not trying to take advantage of the situation. His pricing is very fair, and his work is excellent. It's rare to find someone this honest, skilled, and trustworthy. I highly recommend him and will continue to use him in the future.

He even mentioned that my husband could probably handle it himself if we wanted to go that route. That level of honesty is rare. In the end, we chose to have Mike take care of it. While he was here, he also installed a damper clamp that we didn't realize was missing, which brought the fireplace up to code. Before calling Fireplace Doctor, we had another company come out. They made the situation sound much more serious and tried to convince us we needed a completely new fireplace unit because they claimed our setup was dangerous. Mike calmly explained why that wasn't the case and helped put our minds at ease. We really appreciated his knowledge, integrity, and the time he spent walking us through everything.

We scheduled an inspection, and he confirmed the appointment the day before and kept me updated when he was on his way. Tobi was easy to communicate with and very thorough. He went into the attic and confirmed there was no water leaking through the chimney. He even stood outside in light rain to investigate the source of the dripping sound. He determined that the noise was actually water dripping from the chase cover's drip edge onto the metal flashing, which amplified the sound and made it seem like there was a leak. When I asked about replacing the chase cover, he provided a quote without any pressure. Tobi is honest and does not try to upsell services that aren't needed. The original diagnosis/quote was to repair our condenser leak which was still under warranty, however after more discussion about our home's uneven cooling (always warmer upstairs than downstairs) and overall discomfort that we've lived with for many years, we decided to take the plunge and do a full redesign project: brand new condenser (much quieter and more efficient), relocate the furnace/blower to the attic and all new ducting. They got to work the day after I signed the contract and less than a week later, we have our AC back and the upstairs is feeling great! His pricing, expertise, and professionalism was unbeatable. From the time of us signing up for the project, it took about 6 weeks to get the project started and the once it started, about a few days for the fireplace installation from scratch, and then a few more days for them to install the mantel.
