I became a loyal customer when I brought my car in to get a second opinion because something didn't sound right in the first very expensive diagnostic check I had done. The team was incredibly honest and helpful. They will tell you what needs to be done and what can wait. The mechanics are also very nice and easy to work with. In the past, sadly, being female working with mechanics the cliche has proven to be true - you get taken advantage of. Not at Blonda's. They will look out for you. UPDATE: This business commented on the post with false information. Not once did they tell me to go to a dealership for repairs. They told me that they could handle it. It showed the work done on my car that I had to pay for. They reached out to me saying that they had no record of me in their system, which is unprofessional, then proceeded to lie on Yelp for their reviews sake. This is my explanation of my time and experience, which also serves as my warning. My car had serious issues and this was the closest place to the transmission shop. After 6 months, the same issue came around again. Then again. Took it to a specialized shop for my car and they replaced every single part that Blonda's had put into the car. When looking at the receipts, the parts they replaced weren't on there. Did they just repair broken parts and let them break again? Who knows. I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Blonda's was the only one whose owner, Vince, was genuinely concerned this job was actually needed in my vehicle. He wanted to do an assessment first and once confirmed, wanted to make sure he was going to be present during the entire process. Pictures were taken at every phase. These mechanics are thorough and truly care about your car. They are honest and fair. I was very impressed. This was like open heart surgery on my car and knew I left my car with the right people. I have so many stories where these guys have exceeded my expectations. I've brought a handful of cars to the guys here over the years, and keep coming back. In fact, it was my grandpa who first told me about this shop, where he had been coming for years before me. Here's an example of their work: A few years ago, check engine light came on in my 2002 Toyota Corolla. I needed to pass emissions in 2 months, so I took the car to a shop around the corner from my house (not Blonda's), out of convenience. Mistake. That shop charged me $99 for the "diagnostic" (obd scan) and then tell me it would be $850 for the repairs. I thought that seemed high, and immediately took it to Blonda's for a second opinion. Mark had it for a bit, called me, said the same thing the other shop did (minus one unnecessary thing, can't recall). Except he said it'd be about $500 and it'd be ready later that day. When I picked it up, he had the emissions pass cert on the passenger seat. That was just bc they're close to the testing center. Does that sound like good service to you? Sure does to me. read more

I have been going here for about a year now after the mechanic I had been going to for 20 years started going downhill. These guys are great. They are friendly and honest. The prices are right in-line with what I was paying for service elsewhere, but now I am confident the job is done right. I just took my wife's Jeep in for a check engine light that needed to get fixed before I took her car for emissions. They not only fixed the problem quickly but also took the car for the emissions test so everything was done when I picked it up. They are a great service shop, very honest and direct but best of all fast. They have worked on my 2004 VW Golf for the last few years.

The only mechanic I've ever had who actually took me to the back, showed me what was wrong and explained things. We discussed the absolutely necessary work, permitted it, got an itemized print out for some non-emergency maintenance that could be added on. I got several call updates on progress and on whether I wanted the additional maintenance completed. Found the pricing reasonable, what I needed was expensive but necessary. Both times I've brought my car in, it was done before the estimated time they gave me. read more

Checked couple local shop around Addison trying to get my emissions test past for my Honda. Before bringing it here( Blonda's), I had Auto Zone telling me it was my EGR valve decided to bring it to Blonda's and ask them if they would be able to give me a quote. They told me they would need to check out my Honda and it would be a $100.00 fee and that if I decided to get it fix the fee would not apply. The car was drop early morning before noon I got a call conforming what Auto Zone had told me. EGR Valve. I decided not to get it fix because it was to much,$750 I understand there's overhead but my neighborhood mechanic did it for less than half. Long story short it was not my Egr valve after all, my mechanic did some cleaning in the EGR chamber and replace a worn out gasket. I believe if you pay for a service it should be done. They should had tested my Egr valve! read more

They tell me can be done to the car, what should be done, and what needs to be done and about when everything needs to be taken care of.
