Been wanting to try this cute place for the longest and it did not disappoint. I came for lunch with a friend of mine and the food, drinks, ambience and service was amazing. This restaurant is nestled inside the Post Oak hotel with valet parking and is located right by the pool. It has outside and indoor seating. It wasn't crowded but was the perfect amount of people, not too loud to where I can't hear my friend talking. Came here for HRW. The restaurant has nice decor, comfortable seating, indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar and is inside the Post Oak hotel. They also have valet. Our server Vanessa was very attentive and friendly. She checked on us throughout our meal. I opted for the heirloom tomato salad, red fish, and the mouse dome for dessert. I enjoyed the heirloom tomatoes on my salad, there were large croutons and frisse. My friend had the tenderloin burnt ends which were very tasty as well. We were served ciabatta bread and butter after the appetizer. The redfish was cooked well although I thought the couscous was not very flavorful or seasoned well. The pineapple slaw and pickled vegetables were an interesting touch. The mousse dome was nice, slightly sweet and lots of chocolate. I also had a drink, Paula Fay. When you walk in from the main lobby, go straight ahead toward the back end near the pool. The restaurant is smaller than I thought. There were 5 of us, and the table they wanted us to use was still occupied. We had to split up at first, but they quickly moved us to the table before the drinks and apps came out. There's a bar next to the indoor seating area. The outdoor seating overlooks the pool. I love the decor and aesthetic because I love all things floral. The fresh flowers are lovely and colorful. I was torn between the Texas Trio and Crispy Burrata, but I chose the burrata cause you can get chips & dip anywhere. I'm so glad I did because the burrata was so crispy and gooey. You could literally hear the crunch cutting into it. The basil marinara was delicious, and even at the end, the burrata didn't get soggy. The pita was ok, and we needed more than just 6 small pieces. There was plenty of marinara goodness left to dip in. My friend ordered the Peruvian ceviche for the table. I usually don't eat seafood, let alone the raw type, but i tried it. The dish was eye pleasing, but the ceviche snapper still tasted fishy to me. It might've been the squid ink cracker that I ate it with cause I was trying to take one bite with everything on it. The tuna pokè also looked too pretty to eat, and I liked the use of the plantains as the vessel. I opted for the pineapple mule mocktail, since we were still going out to have dinner (and get lit) at another establishment. It was presented in a martini glass. It was delicious and not too sweet compared to most mocktails. I liked the bit of fizz from the soda they added. The service was incredible that night. Bloom & Bee was a great brunch experience for my sisters and I a couple Sunday's ago. We made a reservation for around 2pm so we sort of missed brunch time. We got seated outside by the pool and the restaurant was relatively busy. Our waiter, whose name escapes me now, was very personable and attentive. He was patient as we sifted through the menu and provided loads of feedback as to what meal we should get. I opted for the Mediterranean grilled cheese sandwich w. fries, which was very filling. For my drink, I got the Grapefruit Collins (I think), which was also really good. Our experience was great. Valet is also only $5 I believe so easy breezy! There was an incident where three women were not served due to how they were dressed and normally I would not agree with any establishment policing how a woman chooses to show up BUT, I am so happy that Bloom & Bee is one of the only places left in Houston that has a dress code and requires you to come DRESSED appropriately for the setting you're in. It was refreshing to be able to eat my fries without someone smoking hookah, dressed in latex or extremely loud music blasting through speakers. read more

So. Update. I will say this; Bloom & Bee the restaurant, FIVE STARS!!! However, my prior review still stands for the gentleman who treated us poorly upon arrival. He was, by all intents and purposes, the first impression and the only representation of both the hotel and the restaurant that my initial review was based on. After my initial review, someone reached out to me personally to discuss my experience. We had a very productive discussion, and after chatting I decided that I'd be willing to come back and give Bloom & Bee another try since we did enjoy the food. I am SO glad that I did! Funny enough, I had the same waiter from my first dining experience. He was great, as he was before, but during this experience I just felt like he went above and beyond to make our dinner memorable. It was the small details; like the pre dinner apperitif for example. Now during my first dining experience, we enjoyed the food. But THIS time?! Wow. I feel like the chef thought I was a Michelin star secret judge and they pulled out all of their best tricks to wow me. And oh boy, was I wow'd!!! We had: Crab cakes x 2 Crispy shrimp Ceviche Lava roll Bloom lobster roll Seafood spaghetti Octopus Every single thing was delectable!!! But if I were absolutely forced to go back and only order a few things, it would be the crab cake, the bloom lobster roll, and that octopus. Ohhhh that octopus I'd like to come back and try brunch here, but the dinner menu officially has me in a chokehold. The dining room is smaller than I expected but everything is so cute and pink and aesthetic. The ceiling is so cool and unique. The decor is definitely the best part. Service was painfully slow. It was hard to get any waiter's attention and food took over an hour to come out. And neither of our dishes required cooking. That's kinda ridiculous. The food was pretty sad looking. And pretty much tasted as exciting as it looked. The Hive was more unique and picture worthy. The meringue was very light and melted in your mouth. There is ice cream and a macaron hidden underneath. Overall the taste was pretty good but very sweet. It's not mind blowing by any means but a decently enjoyable dessert. Parking -there is almost no street parking I had to valet, it's $14 but you can get parking validated inside the restaurant for $7 instead. Food-I ordered off of Houston Restaurant 2022. My first course I had the Salmon Tiradito, it was yummy probably my favorite thing I ate, like a crudo. My 2nd course I had the summer truffle Risotto- it was fine but good portion size, nice crunch with the topping. My 3rd course I was torn between the strawberry shortcake and the jirva. I went with the Jirva which was a chocolate mousse. It was different but I wasn't a fan, no cake taste flavor at all, but it was suppose to be at the bottom of the mousse. Place was pretty empty, which i was surprised since its inside of the hotel? We sat outside nice view of the pool. Inside was too freezing with the ac on blast. I love the decor and flowers, and chairs so pretty very girly. Looks like a place women would go for fancy high tea. I may give it another try to order from menu next time. read more

The Bloom and Bee is located right in the Post Oak hotel. It's beautifully decorated in a pink theme. Outside is a pool and lounge area which is nice to look at. We arrived for lunch at 1. There was plenty seating available so we decided to dine outside. As pretty as the scenery was the service was very slow. We had to wait awhile to put our drink orders in. Then even more for them to be fulfilled. When we did get service is was pleasant we just wished it was a little bit more prompt. On to the food, I ordered the flatbread with bacon and onions for a starter, it was delicious. My friend ordered a dish that comes with corn I forget the name but it looked pretty. (Sweet Corn and Lump Crab Bisque) I ordered a Monarch or 4 because they were yummy lol. For our entrees I ordered the shrimp tempura which was excellent. Was just here for lunch. My first time in Texas, and my first stop in Houston! Wow, way to set the bar high! The ambiance alone floored me. So gorgeously girly and floral, that alone will bring you in here. The menu is relatively simple, but has a lot of great choices. I had the green and white open face egg omelette. Loved it!! Despite being a healthier option, it was still quite rich and buttery. I also tried part of a blueberry pancake- and it was one of the best pancakes I've ever eaten. The fruit was so fresh, bright, and delicious. The fresh pressed juice was a healthy jumpstart and alternative to coffee. Although the decor was nice, the food did not match my expectations. I got the hamachi jalapeno, tuna poke, firecracker roll, honey chicken salad on house baked croissant, and the Post Oak beef burger. The roll and hamachi were the best out of the other menu items I tried. I really liked how the plantain chips with the poke, but I wish there were more. The rations are small for the sushi dishes. My least favorites were the burger and chicken salad on a croissant. The burger was dry and hard, and the croissant was also hard. They were extremely disappointing, and I do not recommend getting any of them. Overall, the aesthetics are cute, but do not expect the food to match! The service was okay, the servers were moving a little slow but the ambiance is very aesthetically pleasing inside. It was my first time at The Post Oak Hotel and it's truly a beautiful establishment. The restaurant was smaller than I thought it would be on the inside but there was plenty of patio seating which was right by the pool area. We started off with the fried burrata and crab cake apps. The fried burrata was SO good and the slices of pita bread were the perfect carrier of cheese and tomato sauce. The crab cake was my kind of crab cake-full of lump crab meat-no fillers here! We each got a sushi roll for our meal. I got the firecracker roll with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado and masago. The roll was better than I expected! The waiter asked if we wanted dessert but I really want to try Bouchee, which I will review separately :) Overall, great experience! Hosted a private event here over the weekend and it was a wonderful choice. To book the event I was in email communications with a coordinator who paid attention to all our wishes and was very helpful w menu suggestions layout etc. The event space was absolutely gorgeous, perfect choice for a baby shower. Food was also good but I would definitely say the location was chosen more for the aesthetic than the food. They also did the cake which I had sent a picture of but asked for different colors and they knocked it out of the park. Service was excellent. It all started with our hostess, instead of greeting us warmly with a hi or hello...she simply looked at us and asked if we knew about the cake policy? Slightly caught off guard but she told us it was a $5 fee for cutting the cake. Let me save you time and clarify that it's $5/head. The Japanese inspired appetizers they had were surprisingly fresh and very good! The crab cake was also a winner with flavor and lump crab factor, ahi tuna poke was another appetizer that was so flavorful! Crispy buratta had to be my favorite dish, it was like a volcano of cheese...highly recommend (everyone should order their own buratta)! The flatbread was meh, ordered this as a filler. The tomato bisque was a lot more tart than I like, and by this point I had already sent back a cocktail so I felt too guilty to send anything else back. The menu was so lackluster and limited but I had a positive perspective, and assumed "It must taste SUPER good if the menu is this small!" The branzino was simple, not much wow factor. The ambiance and aesthetics is perfect for a girls brunch/dinner or a date. The view inside is very floral and pink! The outside seating is a view of the pool. Ok I came here for a quiet birthday brunch. I spent close to $50 for a salmon and quinoa dish and coffee. My salmon at cheesecake factory or the hospital that I work at tastes better than this did. My waiter was busy, I don't know if they were short-staffed or what. However having to flag him down to get him to take our order isn't cool. He was nice and all, but after asking his suggestion for a coffee rec and me taking it and ordering an iced latte. He brought me a sad cup of hot coffee... I also asked him to make it look pretty like they do their alcoholic drinks. You can guess if I got my wish or not. It was relaxing and not hot at all. We came for brunch: they has unlimited appetizers that we can select from and the entree was large.
