She held my hand all the way as she taught me the in's and out's of organic gardening--from the ground up. Dani designed a wonderful key hole 12-foot round stone structure that I delight in to this day. As we worked together side-by-side, she taught me the depth of her knowledge. Ya gotta love that. Despite clear agreements and delivering all work, I was never paid for my services. For the Haskell St. project (6000 sq ft), I completed 17 pages including a planting palette, full planting plan, and multiple 3D renderings. For the Mariposa Montessori school project in Austin, I created 9 full 3D renderings at a discounted rate-- but was never compensated. Both projects involved weeks of effort, yet payment was withheld. I even have proof were Angela, the owner, said she really enjoys working with me-- which makes it even more disappointing that she chose to ignore my invoice instead of honoring our agreement. Nobody should be treated this way-- especially after providing honest, hard work. Angela, the owner, should understand that it is not right to withhold payment for services rendered. As a homeowner considering their services, you may want to think about whether you want to support a company that treats their subcontractors this way. Weed infested, dry/dead sod turned into lush green grass. Plants and flowers are drought and heat-resistant... and attractive. Irrigation systems are constantly tweaked for efficiency and water preservation. We were fortunate to get in under the wire when we did, as Diamondscape had started turning away new clients given their considerable stable of long term customers.

I posted some pictures four years after installation to show how well things have turned out…read more Recently, we installed the irrigation system to automatically water the plants and I wanted to optimize the growth, so I called an arborist to help me out. He walked around and examined all my plants and my trees and was really impressed with all the growth that had occured and how well things had been planted. He tried to get the trees to budge by pushing on them (they did not budge) and he explained how many times he does that test and the trees wobble. He told me that was simply because they had been planted correctly. I wanted to update this review so you can see how well Diamondscape does their job with lasting results. As far as I can tell, everything past the standard mow is at a $20/hour rate, which is fantastic for a local, organic gardener. I've been very happy with the quality of work as well. We have a list and we're chipping away at it, but I think I've found my guy for basic yard maintenance.

I needed someone to listen to how I wanted my gardens to make me feel, the colors, the textures and to make it sustainable. I literally told her I want plants that I can pet and I don't like pokey plants. Her design encorporated my love for color and textures. She is super responsive when I asked questions and asked for changes to the design. I wanted plants that were self sufficient once established. We don't have a sprinkler system so most of the water comes from rain. Our soil is also fairly alkaline. I wanted plants that wouldn't require continual soil amending. She picked out plants/trees that are native to central Texas and prefer alkaline soil. We have some really lovely established old trees that we wanted to make sure to work around and with to eventually have a green privacy hedge. I now have 3 delightful Nellie stevens holly that I can already tell are going to do exactly what I want. My backyard has a drainage issue and continued erosion over the years has become more and more noticable. Due to several factors, a proper french drain was not an option. I also didn't simply want to divert the excess water downstream to my neighbors. Her fix, a dry river. So far, it seems to be working. Regarding pricing, I feel that her design pricing is very reasonable. She recommended MT landscaping services for installation and I found their prices very reasonable as well.

Cheryl did a great job in plant selection and overall design. Communication was very good during the entire process. Installation was done on time and efficiently. The result was exactly as Cheryl drew up and was perfect. Pricing was _very_ fair in my opinion. We were looking at another firm and the price difference was ~$2K less for the same work.
