The place is clean, fresh feeling, cool brick aesthetic, and it has spacious booths. The restrooms are also clean, big, and one has a baby changing table. Drinks - there are 3 mocktails to choose from. The one that was most refreshing had boba in it. It was hard to get the boba though as the straw provided was too thin for boba. Food - I ordered the salmon Benedict. I found the side it came with kind of odd: cauliflower, carrots, zucchini, and potatoes. I would have been content with only potatoes. The veggies are a mindful addition but it's not a brunch item for me. Still... I ate them. They were cooked perfectly. The star of the plate: the salmon Benedict. Sauce, egg, and salmon all paired together made for a delicious bite each time. The bread these items sat on... I wasn't a huge fan of it. It brought the flavor down. To wrap up the meal, our server added sparkle to our experience with a kind gesture of a birthday treat. Their ice cream dessert is something I'd order and pay for because it was that good. Came here for lunch on a Saturday after visiting Mission San Juan Capistrano. We were promptly seated and brought water, and our server came around shortly to take our orders. He was delightful, very friendly and helpful with taking our lunch requests. The ambiance was also very pleasant, with a booth table with large open windows overlooking the mission. The BLT sandwich was nicely down, with a generous amount of everything on lovely toasted bread, and the dark chocolate chip Belgian waffles were nice and not too sweet with a perfect amount of whipped cream. This is our first time at this location, which is part of a larger restaurant group that happens to be in the southern Orange County area. We've been to a few of their other locations decided to try this out. I'm glad I made a reservation because they were not really taking walk-ins this night. We had a comfortable table, although the restaurant was a little warm until the sun finally went down. Our server was also the bartender who happened to be super cool and very helpful. We opted to start with the Caesar salad and then shared the steak frites. We also had the focaccia bread with the rosemary honey butter. And then we finished off with the blood orange cheesecake. The Caesar salad originally comes with chicken as an entrée salad we asked for that to be admitted. We just wanted to start a salad. The salad was fantastic. The grilled focaccia bread was just OK. We probably wouldn't order that again. The steak was phenomenal. The meat was very tender and flavorful. The fries were crisp and a really good value overall. And it was enough for us to share. I did not care for the blood orange cheesecake. I can normally tolerate orange or citrus flavored food, but I felt this honestly tasted like baby aspirin to me. We took the rest home. Service is fast and efficient. Parking can be a challenge, but there's two municipal lots closer to the tracks. Me and a friend decided to take a day trip out to San Juan Capistrano. After exploring around the mission as well as having drinks at the old town district, we opted to check this place out that was right next to the mission and heritage bbq! We walked in and was sat immediately at a booth next to a nice view of the street side. The guy sitting us was really nice and complimented my shirt lol. Totally forgot to take a picture of the menu but they had a brunch menu served from 11:00am-3:30pm and I opted to get the hangar steak and eggs with the daily affirmations cocktail. The drink came out first and was really refreshing! Next came out the steak and for the price ($24) I thought it was just the right amount of food. The steak itself was cooked medium rare to my liking and it tasted absolutely delicious! I wish there were more bites honestly. Eggs were cooked scrambled and tasted good and the vegetables paired with the steak matched perfect. My friend got the focaccia bread with honey butter with a salad and she said that tasted great as well! Overall this place is awesome. Server was really nice and the hostess packed our leftovers. For both of us it was around $100 for the amount of food and I'd say it was appropriately priced for all that we ate. We ordered takeout from here after a 5 hour drive from Santa Barbara. We were exhausted and wanted restaurant food (not regular takeout) but also wanted to stay in so we found this place on Yelp and thankfully they offered takeaway. My husband and I split the Caesar salad, crispy chicken skin mac n cheese and the bone in ribeye. The salad was fine and the anchovies were fresh. The mac n cheese was delicious, smoky and cheesy but not overwhelming at all. The ribeye was good - cooked as requested (medium rare) and was very tender. The bleu cheese mashed potatoes tasted like regular mashed red potatoes, I could not taste any bleu cheese at all but not a huge deal. Everything came to $122 w tax and tip, which I think is very reasonable considering portions were big and we got the big ribeye. We came here today to celebrate my mom's birthday. When we arrived, we ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the table that came with three juices: guava, orange, and strawberry. The server was attentive in opening the bottle and pouring our glasses. He was also ready to make recommendations for the appetizers. We ordered the cinnamon roll, and the focaccia bread. The braised pork belly tostadas were magical- like I want to eat them every single day forever amazing! The tostada was crisp, not soggy at all. On top of the tostada fresh avocado and cabbage carried the pork belly, and then to make it even more fantastic pickled onions and cilantro decorated the top. I could have eaten five of them! One of my guests took a bite and had to spit it out. I told an employee that they could take the plate because I wasn't going to eat it. I wasn't offered the chance to order something else. The bar area was a good size as well. The food...OMG. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken was soooo juicy and had the perfect crisp on the outside! I have a lot of chicken sandwiches and they never are truly crispy. My sister had the jidori half chicken and she let me have a bite and WOW same so juicy and flavorful. The cooked kale was delicious and flavorful! I will be coming back to get that plate! Make sure you come hungry because the portions are huge! I really enjoyed my drink. I had the chefs specialty drink. I want to try their espresso martini next! Everyone working there was so friendly and very attentive! So happy to have stumbled across this restaurant as I came in here specifically for the pate. Seems like not very many restaurants in the local area offer a liver pate anymore unless as an accoutrement for a steakhouse or so. Service was extremely prompt and friendly, I have no complaints with the staff whatsoever. The establishment is clean and relatively dimly lit, great for a date or semi-casual meal w/ friends and family. The pate itself is great! Enough for one person to snack on & certainly enough bread to share. It does have a hint of sweetness- tbh seems unnecessary b/c there's already the sweetness of the apricot preserves on the side (which is delicious btw) Barely touched the mustards b/c it didn't match as a pairing for the rest of the dish imo, but the cornichon (pickles) are nice for chasing down a nice bite of pate. Overall a solid 3.7/5, I would recommend the pate! Definitely fulfilled my craving of needing a good livery snack so I am happy with that :) read more

A can of beer is 10.50. Nothing on draft. The ambience is nice and casual. You get a nice street view from the windows. Good for people watchers. The service is on point. I recently tried Bloom for the first time. First off, I love the location. It's a big space that wraps around the corner, right across from the San Juan Capistrano Mission. They have windows that open and a beautiful bar. Our server was upbeat, friendly and was very descriptive when answering questions about the food. We started with the crispy zucchini flowers and it was such a unique dish - I've never had anything quite like it before - lots of flavor! I really liked that they offer zero proof mocktails! The one thing that would be nice are some more vegetarian offerings...other than 2 small salads, they only offer 1 other vegetarian meal. It would be great to see a vegetarian pasta dish or something. Finally, the dessert was also very unique and enjoyable. We tried the berry sorbet, which was delightful. And we also tried the cheesecake, which was my personal favorite! It had notes of orange and raspberry, with pistachio and a raspberry drizzle. Highly recommend! Overall it was a great atmosphere - despite them playing the news on the TVs at the bar. I know news is important, but I don't love watching disturbing things while enjoying a meal. While the restaurant is lovely and the service is pretty good I am not 100% into the food. I have been here twice and each time the food has just been ok, at best. It's the way it is prepared and the items they pair with. I believe when I was in last I order the chicken piccata which I didn't fully read that lingonberry's or some sort of berry was part of the piccata sauce. Lemon, capers, and then a sweeter berry just didn't hit it for me. My mom had the same reaction.
