I finally had the chance to go to Macy's in Valley Fair. I was there to buy Lancome's UV lotion. The sun's UV has been strong that I felt my skin burn. The Japanese brand wasn't protecting my face that I've seen spots on my cheeks. Lancome's UV Expert looks great in its packaging. The sales clerk was very helpful. After I made my purchase, she gave me a complimentary makeup inside a big pink Year of the Horse Lai-see (envelope). It's so pretty. It's fun to browse the cosmetic counters to see what to try on and new products being released. They always have a free thing to give away when you purchase a certain amount. The store is well lit and organized where you can find things easily. At the bottom floor, there's a dept called Backstage where you can find various items on sale. read more

I received such poor service Emily at Macy's. After trying on some clothing, I returned an item to Emily. Instead of simply taking it back, she asked "do you have the hanger?" I said no, she told me to go get the hanger myself ????The way she said it came across as an order rather than a polite request. Later, I had a question about the tag attached to the item that mentioned they can assist with return and refund policy. I asked whether the policy also applied to "Last Act" merchandise because I was genuinely unsure. Rather than explaining the policy clearly, Emily responded with an impatient, unprofessional, condescending and dismissive attitude. What surprised me the most was that she kept staring at us wiggling her head in a condescending manner replied with a "So what...?" type of response, accompanied by an unfriendly look and a confrontational tone. As a customer, I found this very disrespectful. I understand that everyone can have a difficult day, and I don't expect perfection. However, customers ask questions because they need clarification, not because they want to cause problems. It is the responsibility of customer service associates to answer questions professionally and respectfully. read more

Stopped by Macy's today with the family and had a really solid experience. The store was nice and organized, which made browsing easy even with the holiday rush. The Toys R Us section was well stocked with plenty of toys still available, which was great to see this close to the holidays. Lots of good sales throughout the store too, making it a convenient stop for holiday shopping without feeling overwhelming. Overall, a seamless experience before the holidays. read more

It matters not how good and beneficial to My pockets their Last Act clearance deals are if I have to wait an hour at curbside to obtain them. I love Macy's for their amazing clearances, especially in home goods. I'm a sucker for 5-star, hotel quality, bedding and bath items and Macy's offers a large selection often times at up to 85% off, but almost always they will have many items at 60%-70% off, so this is how I ended up waiting for my new sheet set and pillow I recently ordered for over 30 minutes. I arrived, entered My curbside parking spot number and waited, after 20 minutes of no one walking toward my car with my packages in tow I decided to call the number posted on the curbside pick up sign that said something to the extent of 'trouble with your order...' to no avail, and this is the primary reason for the 2 star review, which would've been 1 if the overworked clerk hadn't been so apologetic after My daughter ended up going inside to grab my order. No one ever came out or answered. If I spend My hard, Bay area, earned dollars with you, big or small I have expectations! But the one that trumps them all is communication! At least acknowledge Me and let me know why I'm waiting. Their managerial department needs a make over, someone is mismanaging their department period! read more

I have never been to a Macy's that literally divided the men's and women's in to two two completely different areas and I mean entity separate places at a shopping mall. For the average shopper, depending on the pursuit for men or women's clothing, this is ridiculous and a major inconvenience. Staff were not at all attentive but we're definitely concerned as to why I was literally standing in one place for several minutes, even though they saw my wife walking with me and head straight to the bathroom. I got so annoyed with them I literally started walking around hoping to get their eyes off of me, but I think it only made it worse. The prices were literally the same that you could find any other Macy's, on the high-end, but maybe on a better day they're much more affordable for the general customer. I don't see myself coming here anytime soon we're probably ever again. 2/5. read more

This review is about curbside pickup. Why even offer curbside pickup if it doesn't work? I came at 7 pm, 2 hours before closing. I tried to check in by clicking on the button that was provided in the email for my order. It did not work. Then I called the phone number and no one answered. Twice. The only reason I ordered at Macy's is because my purchase came with a free gift. I walked in and went and got my package at the At Your Service desk. They told me I didn't check in online. I tried again and it still did not work. I explained that I called twice and no acknowledgement they were not picking up the phone. The sub 3 rating is no surprise. I was shopping at the mall with my daughter today. We walked up to the counter in the Levi's department and asked about some pants I wanted to buy. The guy who was working there (uni-brow and a hair band) said "I'm not on the clock" and went back to windexing the counter top. I guess they're not on commission. We need to support our Retail Businesses or they may go by the wayside! For this reason and a few others, I am upgrading my stars from 3 to 5. I believe Macy's is updating their Technology. We all need to consider how awful it would be if we could ONLY shop online. Additionally, it is so expensive to live in this area that recruiting sales clerks is incredibly difficult. I enjoy shopping in a retail store for clothing, and especially for the men in my life. We need a retail presence to be able to touch and feel the quality of the fabric and observe the quality of the construction. For this reason, just the fact that a store is open and has a beautiful and extensive inventory adds stars! The cost of doing retail business is perhaps some inefficiency in checkout times, but the retail presences to touch and see clothing far exceeds this inconvenience. We need to support our Retail Businesses or they may go by the wayside. TOY R US REVIEW: Sadly all Toys R Us stores are now located within a section of a Macys store. There's a Toys R Us section within the women & children's Macys at Valley Fair mall. It is located on the lower level. Obviously it's not as large as the Toys R Us stores of the past, but there is still a good selection of toys for all ages. They have all the name brands, like Legos, Hot Wheels, Barbies, etc. There weren't very many people around, so I pretty much had the store to myself. The sections were organized and neat. My only complaint is that not every item had prices marked on them. There is 1 price scanner at the very back corner of the store. Most of the prices were fair, but not as competitive as Amazon or Target. read more

I've enjoyed Macy's for years, however it is clearly sunsetting. Their complete customer experience is labyrinthian, sad, and unfulfilling. My journey starts off from the website, where I tried to order a shirt in a couple sizes, and would return the one that didn't fit. Nope. They want $10 to drop off at a UPS store, so I tried to pick the size that would fit. Nope. The recommended size was wrong. I drove the shirt back into the nearest physical store (25m from my office, each way, argh). Only to park outside, and be told "sorry, Macy's men's is on the other side of the mall", which is like a mile away. Can't they put a few of the most popular men's items in their overwhelmingly empty Macy's women's store to save us guys all the schlepping? Guess not. So ...go to men's (and furniture, lol) and return my shirt. Wait, all the counters are empty, let's play find the counter with someone working behind it. OK, found it. Now time to return, and let's go get the size I want. Go upstairs and try the larger size and decide to grab it, as well as a pack of briefs. Briefs in my size and color (the most popular size, L, and color, white) are all sold out. I notice other brands are also sold out of L-white briefs. It's 2025, we have LLMs, and Macy's still hasn't figured out how to predict inventory based on customer buying trends. Probably could replace their "buyers" with ChatGPT and you'd do better... OK, let's just get the shirt. "Sorry, you already returned the smaller one, and even with a receipt, we can't let you exchange at the same price." the nice lady tells me. If you've stuck with this review so far, I appreciate you sharing in my pain. As you can see, Macy's customer associates are set up to fail, they have no power (can't force an exchange), the stores are arranged like its the early 90s and guys only go shopping at Sears, and they don't care enough about their customers to try to predict inventory needs before they hit obvious shortages. So sad. I bought the exact same items (Polo L-white briefs and a Tommy Hilfiger '85 polo) on Amazon for _less_, and they have overnight shipping, and free returns, with far fewer shortages. I came in for a return that I had already been dealing with since December. I worked with this guy associate that was in the return desk. I let him know multiple times I never received a receipt nor email receipt even though I have Macys credit card I did not receive any. He then said we can look it up with your card so I we did a look up with apple pay which is how I originally paid and he said he couldn't find anything he then said I needed the physical card. I did not have a physical card but I went ahead and showed him my purchase I made on my card history. He just brushed me off and wasn't helpful at all. I then went again a week after in January with my physical card and the associate said they couldn't find anything with the purchase. I then got frustrated and left because what's the point of having a credit card with Macys and be signed up for email notifications and not have anything. The associates were very useless and had poor communication. I need my money back. So I then went through my bank to see what they could do, they weren't able to do much so at this point i'm just annoyed of Macys lack of service. After I received my bank's letter I went ahead and go to Macys with the item I purchased that was still unused and tags attached and the associate (11375119) because luckily she was actually able to find my transaction under my card. What the other associate couldn't do by the way. This associate didn't communicate much but all she had me do is tap my card twice and she ended up just giving me a receipt and didn't say anything. I am still waiting on my refund and haven't received anything. It's very frustrating having to deal with this issue. read more

Customer service from Ean at the Chanel counter was outstanding. I was shopping for something specific that my mother requested for Christmas. Ean assisted me quickly, let me try it out, and offered to wrap it once she heard it was a gift. She was patient when I had trouble with my Macy's card purchase and had a smile the whole time. My interaction with her brightened my day! Great person and customer who could ask for more. I've read some of the reviews and people are very harsh and forget it is very hard working in retail. It's not easy working in such a big store with so many entitled Silicon Valley people who are not always kind because they are busy and in a hurry and why aren't you making it more convenient and treating me as a superior to you. Been shopping for prom dresses in the last two years in this location. There were quite a large selection of formal dresses in various sizes, although most of them were made of poly which I dislike but my teen loved the style. Service has been very nice, friendly and helpful. The recent visit we were assisted by this wonderful lady who informed us the pre-sale discount and was extremely helpful. Sometimes you can't find help in fitting room but as long as you know what you want, it's all good. I liked that they were not intrusive. My shopping experiences in other occasions were equally pleasant. Store is clean and organized. read more

Checked out the women's Macy's watch department today. It was a solid experience. The place was super organized and clean, which was a nice surprise since we're from out of state. My wife loved it! IMHO I only come to this Macy's (Valley Fair) when I need to see a bigger selection of clothes. I usually buy my swimsuits or formal wear here. In the past, the inventory of swimwear used to be huge. Perhaps it is still early in the season to be looking for swimwear, but I expected a larger selection to peruse. I was looking for a particular brand and style and a nice saleslady showed me where to look. Unfortunately, not a huge selection in my size, and I also had to search through many different racks since it wasn't the most organized. There were only two ladies working the department; one putting out the clothes, and one to ring up customers. After trying on 6 different swim skirts, I finally settled on one. There is a price check machine right outside the fitting room, so I scanned the price tag. To my shock and surprise, my black swim skirt rung up at $9.94, down from $60!!! Service was friendly and helpful! The clothes displays were okay and could've been more organized, but I realize that until they hire more people, the clothing area will continue to look a little sloppy. The furniture staff is super aggressive. I was on the 3rd floor. I just exited the escalator and I could feel someone following me. And following me. And following me. Finally, an aggressive salesperson asked what they could help me with. I advised I was already being helped. They stopped and looked around then asked "who's helping you?" I advised them a sales associate who assisted me a few weeks ago. Today's associate gave me attitude a stormed off shouting. It's like I somehow offended them. First, I don't respond well to aggressive sales staff. And I respond less well by a-holes who seem inconvenienced by me. read more

We were able to track 2 Macys employees and they looked frantic and overworked. The poor woman at the checkout could barely keep it together. We visited the day after Christmas and felt its holiday atmosphere. It is very far away from Macy's Women and you will basically need cross the whole mall from Macy's Women to Men The Kitchen section offers lots of options for your needs. The men's clothes have also lots of choices for us. The only inconvenience is that only one cashier was there for men's clothes and you needed to wait in line to pay. read more

Today I went over here to look for a jacket/ coat and found a great Levi's one that was on sale. The problem is, they are making the sizes much much smaller now. Lol- No!! The problem is, I had gained a ton of weight and now I am losing it, however they did not have my size. Once I determined that I would have it shipped, there was a very nice and gracious clerk and Macys Men's in Santa Clara. Her name was ShuChen. She was great and very helpful, provided great customer service. She made sure that the style I wanted was available in the color I desired. I bought 2 watches during Sep. and Oct. at TagHeuer Valley Fair Mall. First watch I bought is 200m/600 FT SOLAR GRAPH. It is light and 11 MM thickness and never change batter watch. I love it and I am satisfied now. After that, I saw other beautiful watch. I thought about to buy or not. I am finally decided to buy it. That is now my second watch bought at TagHeuer Valley Fair. So what in hell happened to Macy's? We got there about 7-ish last night. I needed to get my kiddo a complete outfit for the prom. Yes, last minute shopping for the prom, what are you gonna do? I was hoping against hope we'd find something good, and I was not at all disappointed. I found everything, the outfit, shoes, accessories all at decent sale prices. The entire lot cost me over $500, but hey, it's good quality stuff, plus an extra pair of Ralph Lauren cargo shorts for the regular price of $98. Now my kid gets a special formal suit jacket, pants, belt, shirt, shoes, socks and bowtie. Yeah, I'd probably spend less had I rented a tux, but this can be worn again and again. I'm okay with spending money on quality items. What I don't like is this: zero employees anywhere to help or answer questions. Very few cash registers open. One money hungry older lady who barely could speak or understand English (strange that she understood enough to steal us from the line where we where waiting to pay) I guess the employees work for commission now? Didn't used to be that way. But the way she was stealing people to check them out seems very shark like, and a bad look for Macy's. Ugh. On the men's dress socks was a tag saying 3 pairs for $22.00. she rang these up as $10 each. I tried telling her about the tag and that she needed to honor that price, and she literally said, too bad, nothing I can do, it rings up as $10 each. Shockingly bad customer service for Macy's! Wow. Epic fail. I'm spending over $500 and she literally wanted to dismiss me without helping get the price right? I insisted she call a manager if she could not figure out how to honor the price literally marked on each pair of socks!! She acted like she could not figure out how to call a manager. The skinny young guy ringing up next to her could not stop laughing....he was having a good time with the kerfuffle. I waited a little while for a manager, and asked again, is one coming? The lady said she had no way of knowing?! Was she just going to make me wait an hour then? I wonder what her plan was? I told her to remove the 2 pairs of socks and just charge me for one pair if she could not honor the price. I then took my bag of stuff and said, done and done and I walked away. The disgruntled cashier did not say thank you, or give any kind of goodbye, I guess her commission on over $500 was not good enough to be polite? Shocking behavior for Macy's. read more

I shopped at your Stevens Creek store today for a dress to wear for our son's wedding in Lake Tahoe next month. I was helped by a friendly and knowledgeable clerk named Millicent. What a great experience I had. She not only found me the perfect dress, but she also found a secondary dress that I can wear for another occasion. I usually dread dress shopping for fancy occasions but with her helpful suggestions it was pain free on my part. She helped me about a year ago when I needed another special dress and I was so happy to see that she was still working at Macys. She is a lovely and hard working lady and a delight to talk to! Already decorated for Christmas... I guess the new Toys R Us might be the highlight since I last visited. The main aisles are so filled with junk its hard to walk by. I can't remember where but this perfume or junky cosmetic display was right in the middle of the walkway. I suppose that is the premium real estate for suppliers but it sure is inconvenient. If some disabled person had to navigate a large wheelchair through that place when its crowded I wish them all the best. Toys R Us had a couple Spiderman toys. The pickings are great before Christmas... and between you and me I'd do my shopping now. The escalators looked a bit dated and dark. Things weren't perfectly fresh as they are in the upscale Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. IDk if you need all that fancy when you shop. I don't know if anybody needs all that... Some Nespresso section looked to be the most happening place in this store. Its near backstage and the holiday stuff. I suppose that is what everybody wants - decent coffee. I really did give up on good coffee at home. I'm not sure its possible. I get this crazy expensive canned cold stuff. Probably in the long term with compounding interest that scam artist Suzy Orman would tell me I could buy a Tesla at the end of 10 years if I just bought one of those machines there. read more

We purchased a high end, Cal King Aireloom mattress at this store on December 26, 2024. The promotion in effect was that the mattress would have an adjustable base included. The delivery of the mattress and base were scheduled for January 9, 2025, two weeks after the purchase. The morning of January 9th I received a call from the delivery department stating that the shipment includes a Cal King mattress and a small adjustable base; if we wanted to get the other adjustable base required to operate with a Cal King mattress, we would have to purchase it. I reached out to our sales rep, but no response. When the mattress was delivered the delivery crew pointed to a single twin adjustable base and informed me that a second twin base would be needed to work with a Cal King mattress. They suggested that they take back the twin base and then deliver two twin bases once they get the OK from the store. The placed the new mattress into our bedroom, but did not leave any documentation (ie. care instructions or a warranty card). About 90 minutes following the delivery I received a call from Macy's in Florida. The rep was wondering why we refused the delivery of the adjustable base. When I explained what had happened and that a wrong base was delivered, the rep simply kept apologizing, but could not provide a delivery date for the correct base to be delivered. Being Thursday today, the rep mentioned that she would not be able to get back to me until next Tuesday when she returns to the office. When I asked to speak with a manager the call was disconnected! Macy's is a large and famous retailer, not just some "mom and pop" shop. The service from purchasing to long delivery to wrongful delivery is just horrible. I will now have to go back to the store tomorrow to seek out the sales rep and his manager to get this corrected. I will not recommend this store or Macy's to friends and family. read more
