a pool table in the middle of the room
C-lo K.

This bar has a lot of character, hard to label but I'd say it's a mix of nicer crowd and locals. Good beer selection and has full bar. Lots of TV's, pool, outdoor seating and a very underrated view. Drinks were cheap and staff is nice. Music playing the entire time, definitely best bar in the area.

Chardonnay: Joel Gott 2014

Since my girlfriend and I never hang out in the Dogpatch / Potrero Hill area, we decided to check out one more bar before heading home. We walked over to Blooms Saloon on Wednesday, June 20th and arrived around 8pm. After having cocktails and whisky, I decided to switch it up to beer. Got a Stella Artois while my gf got a chardonnay. I believe it was a Joel Gott 2014. (Don't ask me how I know that. I honestly have no idea.) I paid for the first round, so from recollection, I think both drinks were $14. We ended up sitting down at a giant plush booth. Felt kind of like VIP status as I didn't see any other booths around. My gf ended up getting us a second round of the same drinks. Vibe here is chill. Kinda divey, but in a huge space. It was dark where we were sitting, but I believe there's big windows in the back, so lots of light in that area of the bar. I think they have a back patio, but it seemed roped off that day, so we didn't explore. The end of our time here was a little odd. When my gf came back after buying the second round, she asked me if I had any cash. When I asked why, she said the bartender seemed pissed we were ordering and paying by round instead of keeping a tab open. Maybe he was mad about the CC fees? It made us feel unwelcome, so we left after that second round. Nice bar to just chill and drink. Too bad we had that weird experience with the bartender.

Good pool table

I live in the area and always see a regular crowd in there so decided to finally try it out. The place is a great local dive with a pool table, and amazing view out back. I'd go here just for the view of the whole city skyline. The prices are pretty reasonable and great. Beers on draft were $6 and the cans cheaper. Come in and make some local friends!

Irish Coffee at the bar!

This bar was very pleasant surprise. It's the cleanest dive bar I've ever seen but with the same local feel as you'd get from Cheers. The bartender is really nice and makes the best Irish coffee (and bonus it's affordable!) there is a pool table, and balcony open once a month (beautiful balcony too bad the neighbors protested to have it closed except for 1x a month- which seriously? That's ridiculous to mandate they close it during daylight hours) there is a delicious food joint across the street-this bar is truly a hidden gem. Best for watching sports and playing pool, wouldn't make a bad second date spot.

Cool Photo Booth!

A Historic Gem...since Prohibition! This great sports bar, located on Potrero Hill, may have changed owners over the years, but retains an old school feel. The server tuned in our requested football game and prepared a tasty, homemade Bloody Mary. An amazing view of the city, a pool table, clear image TV screens and more in a great neighborhood!

Bartender!!! can I get a Sidecar?
Charlotte T.

Bartender!!! Can I get a Sidecar. He replies, wow! I haven't made one of those in 20 years. This my go to neighborhood bar, when I could getaway. Hands down this Saloon is like Cheers, and even better. Where everyone knows your name, and a shake a hand meet a friend. Ended up order 4 and an IPA. Very reasonable prices, and always always have a mature crowd.

Great patio view

Definitely SF pricing, but a neighborhood bar like this should be a little less horrifying than the Marina or North Beach.

Luckily, my friend had already been to Iron Horse Cocktails, and suggested we go there instead. Walking down the alleyway it is located in was a nice getaway from the otherwise hectic union square atmosphere. Walking in was also a neat experience that felt like we were stepping out of the city into a tiny pub. We also really liked the atmosphere inside and the cozy upper floor that had an interesting mix of old paintings and woodwork, creating an eclectic feel. I got the We've Got the Beet cocktail with mezcal, beet reduction, ginger, fresh citrus, thyme and firewater bitters. I love mezcal's smoky flavors and was drawn to the combination of ginger, citrus and mezcal flavors in the drink. The cocktail was very good and had a nice smokiness from the mezcal, along with the kick from the ginger and zest from the citrus, creating a refreshing and tasty drink. My friend got the About Thyme, with gin, blackberry liquor, black pepper thyme syrup and fresh citrus. We both really liked his drink as well, which had an interesting kick from the black pepper thyme syrup that offset the gin and blackberry liquor nicely. While we only had time to grab a drink each, we were both very happy with the drinks and would definitely come back the next time we're in the area.

Although the service was a little slow at first because of how busy it was, once we were helped, the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. The food is definitely on the pricier side, but it's well worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the martinis were especially impressive. If you're looking for a relaxing spot with breathtaking views of the San Francisco skyline, The View Lounge is a great choice. The combination of great cocktails, tasty food, and the incredible city views makes it a place I'd happily visit again.

All wonderful For food we had : charcuterie board, prawn cocktail ( HUGE prawns and my second favorite dish), ahi tuna tataki, chicken adobo tacos and the Prosciutto flatbread ( my favorite!) For dessert we shared the Ube Crème Brûlée I wanted to try the house made chips cause they looked delicious but I was too full. Definitely a great place to come and celebrate!

There's zero hint from the outside about what's waiting behind that door and that's part of the magic. Inside? Total vibe. Moody, trendy decor, shelves of great vinyl, solid drinks. It feels like the kind of spot you accidentally stay at way longer than you planned. Greg, our bartender, was fantastic. Friendly without being over the top, and he even gave us bar recommendations all over SF, which was a nice bonus. We ordered the Mi Sharona and the El Mariachi. The Mi Sharona leaned a little sweeter than I usually go for but it was still really good. The El Mariachi, though, was the winner: just the right amount of spice, subtle and balanced, not overpowering the drink at all. Love this spot.

I would recommend this if you are unsure what to try. - I don't remember what the second drink was called but I do remember it had roku gin in it (not sure if it is the gin and juice). It is definitely on the stronger side. If you do not enjoy gin... you will not like this. Was not expecting it to be so strong. I always go with the nachos and have never been disappointed, perfect portion for me, but could be shared if you're not super hungry or wanted to mix in a bunch of different food items. Service is friendly but very slow; especially for drinks. I'm not deducting any stars for that though, it's a very small bar that gets very crowded during happy hour so the staff constricted by space, not a desire to work.

Had lunch here with some colleagues (I've been here before but it's been 10+ years). In general, the group found the ordering method a bit wonky. It falls for me into the category of one of those spots who did some things for Covid and has continued those practices because they seemed to work. You go into a line and order entrees at the first station; but it's not clear which ones and some are precooked and some aren't. But you don't order beverages or sides there you do that at the register. Seating is self service and you grab your own napkins and silverware at the bar. Fine; but if you don't know no one is going to tell you even if you ask. Food - pretty decent food. I got the shrimp plate. Rice and beans standard - and lots of them. Shrimp not too many, but I was not super hungry. Salad, lots of it but wilted hot and weird. I could have gone without or preferred some escabeche. Tortillas; corn, store bought IMO. Ceviche; not bad not great. Guacamole same. All in all I ate about 1/5 of my plate and had plenty so if you want to fill up and have a bit appetite this is for you:

Arrived on a whim at around 6pm on a weekday and found a nice seat at the bar top. They have these little orb lights that can't be moved. He also told me I was right on time for the saber champagne presentation -more on that in a sec. For drinks, I ordered the Hibiscus Spice and the Paradise cocktail. Both were super fruity and delicious! I had a great time sipping on this while chatting it up with a few folks at the bar. To nibble, I can never say no to ahi tuna tartare and this one was great! The most interesting little wafers, ahi tuna with some avocado cream and a little spicy sauce. I absolutely devoured these! So good! Now for the best part, the champagne presentation! A gentleman gave a little info session on on how this process is done and at the end he took a giant to a bottle of champagne to open it. Really Cool! What made this even better was that everyone at the bar got to snag a complimentary glass. What a treat! Super cute little hour of so sitting at the bar at the St. Regis.
