Great food and great location. I have come here since they opened and always 5 stars. Coming back with a 3 star review for the fact that they charge 4 bucks for salsa now. They said it was because it's made in house but that's every Mexican restaurant for the most part. Had the guac, ceviche, elote, tacos and some enchiladas and some drinks and spent $160 bucks. Very tasty just a shame on the nickel and dime on salsa. I felt like I was at McDonald's being charged 25 cents for ranch.

Wait staff was nice! The restaurant itself was pretty. The atmosphere was casual and fun. The food was delicious and the beverages were strong.

I came here last minute after a bad experience somewhere else, and even after I made a mistake with my reservation, they were able to accommodate me incredibly fast. Their empanadas were SO good and I really liked their guac & chips. I ended up trying their Margarita as well and it was pretty tasty! I also loved the inside as well, it was very lively and people were excited about the Super Bowl game happening! My server, I believe her name was Daniella, was a sweetheart and absolutely made my day! I'd absolutely come here again just to try more of the menu and for the good vibes.

Went with a large group of coworkers. While the atmosphere was nice, the service left a lot to be desired. We sat at the high top table, and for a group of 8 we got 3 menus to share. The 8 drinks came out in 3 separate batches and appetizers showed up 15 minutes after that even though everything was ordered together. Then the waiter never stopped by to get our order. I went and asked the host and flagged down the server and they said they were delaying taking our order because they were busy- 1 person in the group left without eating. The food was better than the service for sure but not close to anything that would be a reason to come back. I got fish tacos and the coating and crunch was nice but the fish was bland. The drink I got, virgin mango margarita, was really nice. Overall if the service was nice I would have been okay to come back for drinks and appetizers. Decent hangout place.

Nice Mexican restaurant near yuerba buena gardens. Had an event at St Regis and was craving Mexican and this place was recommended from a couple of locals, so I had to try it. Upon entering the decor and set up of the restaurant is really nice. There's a menu right on the wall and you start with ordering your food. Really friendly people with great service, but the food was a let down for me. I ordered a shrimp and steak burrito and flautas. The burrito was soggy and too salty for me. The shrimp was flavorful and the best thing in the burrito. The flautas was my favorite dish. Nice and crispy and just the right amount of sour cream. Overall an ok location.

Located near Yerba Buena, across from the (currently closed) Contemporary Jewish Museum and steps from the gardens, this spot is an easy weekday or weekend win. The interior is warm and lively; Tropisueno's extensive menu makes it just as suitable for a casual lunch as it is for cocktails after work.

My first experience here was great, which is what made the second visit a little surprising. We came for dinner the first time and had an excellent meal. The carne asada was really well done, the margaritas were great, and the overall experience left us wanting to return. We raved about our experience and eagerly looked forward to returning. When we returned mid afternoon, the setup was completely different. The restaurant was operating more like a fast casual taco bar, where you order at the counter as they make the food in front of you. A large portion of the seating was closed off, so you order first and then look for a place to sit if one is available. Drinks are handled separately, meaning you have to go to the bar and open a second tab for cocktails, which felt disjointed. It is helpful to know this going in. At night it functions as a full service restaurant, and that is when I would recommend coming. I would absolutely return for dinner, but I would skip the daytime taco bar setup.

Guacamole, chips with green, red and spicy orange salsa.

Great Mexican atmosphere. Great happy hour prices. The chips and salsa were a fantastic $3 but the small, little bowl of guacamole was $7! It all tasted fine though. The tres leches with mango puree was fine but didn't taste like tres leches. Finally, the ceviche made with mahi-mahi, cilantro, jalapeño, and avocado was good for $7!

Tropisueño in San Francisco serves up some of the best tacos you'll find--loaded with cilantro, cebolla, and your choice of red or green salsa. My daughter ordered the chorizo tacos, while I went with one al pastor and one carnitas, and all were excellent. It's the rare Mexican spot in SF that truly captures the vibe and flavors of a SoCal Mexican restaurant. There's a large indoor dining room with plenty of tables and booths, plus outdoor seating, though the bar could be bigger. You order at the counter, grab a number, and wait for your food. The staff is warm, kind, and helpful--especially appreciated given the large, slightly intimidating menu. A great downtown stop for solid Mexican food.

Place was ok, not the most authentic I would say (+) we were looking for place to eat last min and the city was super busy due to a conference that was happening that week. We messed up our booking and reserved for the wrong day. The waiter was super cool about it , and got us seated anyways (+) food was served really fast (+) had a large variety of options (+) I ordered chicken, steak, and lamb tacos , they were all good expect lamb was a little gamy (-) nachos were only served during lunch hours? (-) tacos were not served with lime? (-) tacos didn't come with green or red sauce? Maybe I'm from the east coast and tacos are served a little differently here and it's a cultural thing? Overall everything was great!

I was looking for a place for lunch near SFMoMA and found Tropisueno on Yelp. During lunchtime, you order at the counter and take your number to a table, either indoors or outdoors. Everyone seemed to be munching on chips and salsa, which we passed on since it cost extra. We ordered a couple of burritos - chicken tinga ($12.95) for me and a shrimp burrito ($14.60) for my husband. The burritos came wrapped foil on a plate. The tinga was OK, more peppery than I expected, but at least it was a decent mixture of meat, beans, rice, cheese and pico de gallo. My husband's shrimp burrito had a lot of shrimp, but was somewhat sloppily made, as it was not wrapped tightly. Probably more like a 3.5, but since Yelp doesn't allow half stars, I'll bump it up to 4. Fine for a quick meal if you're in SoMa.

Very lively on a Monday evening. Got seated immediately and didn't have to wait. For appetizers, we got the chips and guac and the maiz dish. Really liked the corn and guac was fresh. The steak was tasty as well. A bit on the harder side though. The cheese enchilada and potato tacos were good too. Spot is filled with corporate employees on weekday evenings. Lots of seating and very loud. Friendly staff and good service.

Finding Mexican cuisine in SF city can be tough, but we came across this hidden gem and it did not disappoint. We were a little hungover and really needed some pozole--this hit the spot! The staff were very attentive, and the food was delicious. The only thing I wished for was a spicier salsa for the pozole (I love extra heat ). Overall, everything was great, and I really liked the aesthetic of the place. Would definitely recommend!

There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

I never had one before, but if they're all like this, then I love einspanners. It had a super thick whipped cream with a nice high quality matcha. The service was also very friendly. And since this is a bar/ cafe, it's super chill vibes.

Absolutely stunning speakeasy style bar attached to the cafe. Get your coffee and head on over for…read moresome cozy and intimate settings. The decor is dark, moody and heavy Asian inspired. Do your meeting or work from this location. The back has a restaurant or private party setting. The coffee is good but the milk need to be swap out. Not the optimal combo. The staff are very respectful and quick to service.
