Ordered the Bayou Board, She Crab Soup, & Seafood Pasta. The board has some excellent smoked sausage, boudin balls, but the star of the show is the chicken salad. The seafood pasta has a crème sauce that was very good with plenty of shrimp & crab. Our waitress was friendly & gave great service. The place is set up on the water which makes it a wonderful setting. All in all it is a great place to stop in for lunch or dinner.

BV board - look at the variety!

New management is doing a great job. The family went to blowfly for Sunday brunch/lunch. First visit in 6-12 mos., and the last visit the food was okay at best and the service wasn't. Today we had the BV Board (a brunch charcuterie with bacon, French toast, deviled eggs, sausage, fruit, and cheeses), a burger, shrimp poboy, a chicken sandwich, a salad, she crab soup, and mimosas. Oh, and fried pickles. All were good. The shrimp poboy was very good - top 5-10 on the coast. The fried pickles are great - a fresh take on an old fave. See the pics - long slices instead of ovals. Son said chicken sandwich was great. And the BV board was a whole meal by itself. Server was fast, attentive, and very friendly! Great job! If you haven't been, or haven't been lately, head out to Blow Fly!

This a bit of nostalgia. Takes me back to just pull up in the boat and grab a drink or bite in the back bay... Drink responsibly. This establishment has been here, who knows how long? One the few restaurants you can just pull up by boat. Has a few slips you can still dock or traditional pull up in a vehicle. It has a large parking lot or large grass field if the parking lot is full. It is kinda hidden jem. It can be located in the neighborhood. Not off the main streets. When you pull up. Compared to the old restaurant. This is different in a good way but still retain its charm and flavors. The old one was just one story and kind small. The new one is way bigger. Now boasting two stories. Bigger restaurant. Plenty of outdoor dining and bar downstairs when the weather permits and open. Drink responsible...Up stairs has a larger patio area for dining outside and with a nice size indoor. Do not hold me to this, I believe the slips looks great hosting three slips. I am not sure if it was just two before or just a dock? Both look great and brand new with the patio deck. They have great handicap parking and access. No elevator at this time. They do offer traditional stairs access and wheelchair ramp. Maybe it is just me. The stairs seem a bit steep. I recommend taking the ramp to and from. Not too long but worth it in my opinion. The hostess was quick to accommodate us and quickly sat us down. Asked us if we preferred a tall or regular table. She sat us down near the bar at one the available tall table. The chairs are comfortable but not padding unless you sit down at the bar. They are the only ones I see with a bottom cushion. Normally, they are comfortable hardwood seats. By request, they do have a few limited seats with bottom cushions like the one at the bar if available. We had such a wonderful experience with our server Veronica! Such a pleasure to work with! She recommended that we start out with the fresh onion rings as an appetizer and took our drink order. She mentioned that this was renovated recently and under new management. You can definitely see that and so worth it. In my opinion. She came back with our drinks and asks what amazing things we like to have. We got the shrimp poboy (dressed) and come with fresh fries. And got the seafood platter with a sweet potato. If you do not request a side, she said they will default you fries instead. The ice water and fresh brewed sweet tea are great. Only downside is the paper straws. Tend to fall apart after a few minutes. Great, they are using less waste. But you may want to bring your own straw or request for another one if that one you have fails. Overall, the food was excellent. Personally never had a bad experience here over the years. They really hook you up with shrimp for the shrimp poboy. Wonderful food! Cannot wait to come back and get the blow fly burger! Takes me back... they do offer military discount and WiFi. I believe it is password protected? They do live music on Saturday. Most importantly, happy hour every day 2-5? Stop by if you are in the area. Well worth it! Was featured on triple D years back. I do not remember when tho.

While visiting friends in Mississippi, they took me here and I fell in love!!! The setting is gorgeous as you can see! There's outdoor and indoor seating options. The outdoor seating is shaded beautifully by an awning and natural trees. There's dual level seating as well. Easy accessibility to the upper level both with stairs and a ramp. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, as well as extremely attentive! Now... the FOOD! I got my first taste of boudin with their boudin balls. They were crispy, creamy inside and delicious! I loved the remoulad too! We got the last of the crab cakes for the day so they were on the smaller side, but the taste was huge! Fresh, flavorful, oceany, and delicious! Just enough crisp on the outside and perfect with a squeeze of lemon and the same remoulad! For my meal I had the chicken salad wrap & fries. I was a little surprised they served it warm. I typically think of chicken salad as cold and refreshing, but it was still yummy! My friends enjoyed their food too! I definitely want to come back next time!

First time at Blow Fly Bar and Grill. Greeted with a warm welcome. Wonderful view of the back bay very spacious with indoor and out door seating. The food is excellent, nice portions. The menu is easy to read and not overwhelming. Highly recommend you stop in and get your belly full. Lastly ask for Kristina, she is wonderful and helpful!

The location is great, the staff ok but the food is bad. Could not even eat the chicken sandwich. Not worth the walk up the ramp.

It was the perfect portion for lunch and affordable to take a family. Definitely recommend if you are in a budget and want to go to lunch instead of spending a lot for dinner. We went upstairs to grab drinks and hang out while waiting and it was taking a while so I went down to check if they had called my name since I didn't get a text. The hostess said they accidentally marked my name off for a group named "Lisa" and apologized then told me it'd be 10-15 mins. We went back upstairs and they came and grabbed us for our table. We ordered our food and it took probably over an hour for it to arrive. My friend ordered the seafood platter fried hard and she said it was no where near that and her corn on the cob was cold in the middle. They took it back and remade it. My entire group was pretty over waiting and we were considering taking our food to go after waiting about 45 minutes. We arrived at 6:30pm to the restaurant and didnt end up leaving until around 9:15pm. The most we got was a "thank you for your patience" and the bill of course had the automatic 18% gratuity for a large party. The food itself was tasty and I would have given 5 stars here if the service wasn't so abysmal or if they at least were apologetic about it. Anyways, I got the boudreaux bread and firecracker shrimp and both were delicious. My friends that got the seafood platters said they were alright. Some parts were great and others were decent. It's a shame that we had this experience here because this is a place I would have liked to come back to, but I will no longer have this place on my list to consider in the future.

Taranto's has been a Mississippi gulf coast staple for many years. Ask anyone who has the best…read morecrawfish down here and there's a solid chance their name will come up. They also do amazing shrimp and other seafood. This location is off the beaten path but easy to find due to close proximity to the Interstate. Parking is gravel lot so you just fit your vehicle where you can. Usually if you can find a space, there will be a table open so keep that in mind if you think it might be too busy and you don't want to wait. In addition to the great stuff like boiled shrimp or crawfish, they also have wonderful poboys that are packed with whatever you want on them. I opted for grilled shrimp on my last visit, but fried shrimp is great as well. If you order an optional side, you will get plenty like onion rings, fried okra, or fries. They also have daily specials like shrimp or catfish baskets, and currently on Saturdays you can get a pound of royal reds with potatoes and corn for roughly twenty bucks. Royal reds are a premium kind of deep sea shrimp that are more like lobster and very meaty. I highly recommend trying them if you've only ever had regular gulf shrimp before. Service here is always good because the place is small and they keep it well-staffed. Waitresses will keep your drinks filled constantly and they pay attention well. You won't be ignored here, so service is quick and the food comes out fast. Definitely give this place a try.

I cant iterate this enough! **Be aware though you have to go up some steps and the elevator is not working ** They are expanding their space once again so that tells you how busy they are during Spring and Summer! The employees are nice and work hard. The view from outside on the patio that's peak vacation baby* They have a drink of the day which is what I got May 13th. It was a cucumber drink and my son got a pineapple paradise Hubbie got a Heineken for $5 .
