It's always 5 stars!!! Great food, good service and views that never disappoint. And be our favorites on the coast!

    Crab cakes over slaw.

These crab cakes are underwhelming. I don't really get the slaw or raspberry sriracha. The broccoli was on the tough side and I was only given a fork to eat with. Call it an appetizer and add tartar sauce and forget the slaw and vegetable.

The Reef is located right on the beach in Biloxi, and has been in business for several years. It is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner, has lots of seating indoors and out, and has a menu full of options for those who don't want seafood. It's also great for big groups. This is where my work takes new hires after hours just to hang out and get to know everyone. Vendors sometimes pick this spot for group outings, as well. It has plenty of parking and is very easy to find on Highway 90. We usually start with some grilled oysters or the smoked tuna dip appetizer, and both are excellent. The gator and pickles appetizer is also good when you have a big group because you get a lot. They have over a dozen starter options and I've tried most at some point, with no complaints. On my last visit, I got the shrimp and grits, and could not even finish it. You get a large bowl full of shrimp plus two grit cakes on top, and it's all in a cream sauce that is amazing. Shrimp and grits can be found at many coast restaurants and The Reef has one of the best. My wife ordered the teriyaki salmon bowl that includes mandarin oranges, and it's a much healthier option that she really enjoyed. In previous visits, I've had their catfish monica, which is very similar to the catfish supreme dish served at their sister restaurant called Salute down the beach in Gulfport. I've also had some of their pasta dishes and the seafood platter. It's all good. Definitely check The Reef out if you are in the area and want to try a locally owned spot that knows what they're doing. The portions are plenty and service has always been great.

Great food and excellent service. I got the catfish and shrimp basket. This came with fries. The shrimp are not huge. They are baby-sized shrimp, but this was not a big deal for me. It was well seasoned, and I enjoyed my meal. We arrived on a Tuesday night, the week of Thanksgiving. It was not full. We were immediately sat. We had a choice of inside or outside seating. We also had charbroiled oysters which were really good. My husband had the catfish sandwich, which he said was good. The coleslaw was good but for $1 I wish the serving was bigger. The major flaw that I have is that the alcoholic drinks had barely any alcohol in them. I was going to order the Cat 5 Hurricane like my husband, but after trying his, I decided not to. Ten dollars for juice was not worth it. So I settled for water. They need to work on adjusting the amount of alcohol in their drinks. But go for the food.

Shrimp and Grits with smoked sausage.

Been a long time customer of the Reef, but this is my first time writing a review. Had an evening dinner with the family on May 16, 2026. We sat out on the deck and as always it was very nice. I had the Shrimp with Grits and was a different version than what I have seen. The grit cakes were coated with either a Panko or Tempura batter which gave it a nice texture and the sauce was creamy with smoke sausage. It was very delicious and the wait staff were very friendly. I definitely would recommend for you to try this version.

Menu at hostess stand read to me to remember when I got to the table

Was unable to eat here. I have celiac disease and can't have gluten. Menu is napkin sized at hostess and was read off to me quickly. I then asked to take a photo. Server then told me they used a lot of butter in their food...trying to explain his gluten knowledge. No gluten in butter BTW. We walked next door where they do have a gluten free menu and my family felt safe.

Stopped by The Reef while on Thanksgiving vacation to visit family and the night before Thanksgiving we stopped by the Reef to enjoy a meal that I was looking forward to since I really enjoy seafood. When walking in you enter through the gift shop with plenty of T-shirts and accessories and it wasn't to busy & we were seated promptly to our table. I ordered the catfish sandwich at fries, my wife had the seafood platter and my brother in law and his wife had the oysters and seafood platter. My sandwich was seasoned well and was prepared great. My meal was really good and everyone else enjoyed thiers as well and we also ordered drinks and ours didn't seem to have much if any alcohol in it so that was a bit of a let down but overall the experience was good and I'll definitely come back.

Came to eat here after I ran a 5k. We sat on the deck, which had a great view! Our waiter was super friendly. The chips and salsa was a good appetizer. I also had the red beans and rice with the catfish. Very big portion sizes! The food was excellent! Would definitely come back!

    Mahi mahi with mandarin pico
    Holly H.

The view here is great but the food absolutely stole the show! I don't think I will ever stop thinking about the chargrilled New Orleans style oysters. They were so freaking good. The mahi mahi with mandarin pico was good but didn't compare to the oysters. Service was good and I would definitely recommend this place! Looking forward to my next road trip so I can come back.

    Fried Pickles & Alligator
    Ray J.

I stopped in at The Reef in Biloxi and had an awesome experience. Me and my friends kicked things off by sharing the fried pickles and the fried alligator--both came out hot, crispy, and seasoned just right. For my meal, I went with the dish in the photos, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were bold, everything tasted fresh, and the portions were solid. Great service, great view, and great food. Definitely a spot I'd come back to the next time I'm on the Coast.

Are dogs allowed on the deck?

    Yes!

Is it accessible for a mobility scooter?

Yes sir I do believe this was one of the restaurants we went to that had an elevator. We had my 82 year old grandma with us she couldn't climb the stairs so that was a plus

First off, they bring the food out in a giant plastic bag like it's evidence from a crime scene. And honestly, it is a crime--how much butter and Cajun seasoning they put in there. The shrimp were so spicy they gave me flashbacks to every bad decision I've ever made, and the sausage? That sausage whispered sweet nothings to me before punching me in the face with flavor. I'm not saying I fell in love, but I definitely Googled "how to legally marry andouille." The corn was hotter than Satan's armpit, and the potatoes were softer than my willpower. I burned my fingertips, tongue, and possibly my soul, but I regret nothing. The staff is friendly in that Southern way where they call you "honey" and tell you you're "lookin' peaky" while piling 7 pounds of shellfish in front of you. If your bib doesn't say "I'm here for a good time, not a long time," you're doing it wrong. Pro tip: don't wear white. Or tight pants. The Boudin egg rolls were the best thing I ate on my entire trip. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy, every bite was heaven. The jambalaya was the best jambalaya I had on my trip as well. It had a fantastic smokiness and was not wet at all. I also loved the crawfish étouffée. It was creamy and loaded. The red beans and rice had a bit of a sweet edge that was not quite my taste. They also do amazing shrimp and other seafood. This location is off the beaten path but easy to find due to close proximity to the Interstate. Parking is gravel lot so you just fit your vehicle where you can. Usually if you can find a space, there will be a table open so keep that in mind if you think it might be too busy and you don't want to wait. In addition to the great stuff like boiled shrimp or crawfish, they also have wonderful poboys that are packed with whatever you want on them. I opted for grilled shrimp on my last visit, but fried shrimp is great as well. If you order an optional side, you will get plenty like onion rings, fried okra, or fries. They also have daily specials like shrimp or catfish baskets, and currently on Saturdays you can get a pound of royal reds with potatoes and corn for roughly twenty bucks. Royal reds are a premium kind of deep sea shrimp that are more like lobster and very meaty. I highly recommend trying them if you've only ever had regular gulf shrimp before. Service here is always good because the place is small and they keep it well-staffed. Waitresses will keep your drinks filled constantly and they pay attention well.
