The food was excellent, affordable, servings are plentiful and the drinks will not break you! Best advice come before they open you will thank me :) It gets full fast! I cant iterate this enough! **Be aware though you have to go up some steps and the elevator is not working ** They are expanding their space once again so that tells you how busy they are during Spring and Summer! Came here on two separate occasions and both times were great! The service is friendly and speedy, the food is great, and the location is awesome. First time around, I got the po boy, hush puppies, and lobster mac. The po boy and hush puppies were great. The lobster mac tasted fine but was too rich for me. I'm sure most people would love it though! Second time, I got the fried fish sandwich and fresh oysters. The fried fish sandwich surprised me with how massive the fish was LOL. But it was delicious. Why do they get good reviews is a mystery to me. First, you have to wait 30-40min which creates a sense of 'wow, they must be doing something right', then when you go in, you see a big area 'closed' so not too much seating is available. The food - horrendous, and we wanted so much to enjoy. The view - meh- because the actual sunset is hidden behind all the buildings. Music - barely noticeable. Tables and bar - dirty. You can probably enjoy same if not even more in one of next door beach front restaurants. The service was great for a Saturday night sat outside with a nice breeze and the views of the gulf were great! Had a handful of a good and everything stayed great! It was a beautiful spring Friday, so the restaurant was busy as might be expected but the staff was professional, friendly, and efficient. I had the shrimp roll on a previous visit and loved it, so I ordered it again and wasn't disappointed. It's basically a lobster roll made with Royal Red shrimp instead of lobster. The shrimp were plentiful, fresh, sweet, and perfectly cooked. The mayo based dressing was just enough to bind and add flavor without being heavy or overpowering the shrimp. The bun was soft, toasty, and buttery. I subbed tater tots for fries and they were hot, fresh, and fried in fresh tasting oil. Biloxi is one of my favorite places to visit. On a trip here a few years ago, we stopped at Shaggy's. It's off of Beach Blvd and right on the beach. Service is always right on point and super friendly, starting at the hostess stand. The person that seats you also takes your drink order, so you're not waiting for your server to get your drinks. Genius! Every server we've ever had is amazing. They're friendly and really make you feel that they're happy you're there. The gorgeous Gulf views can't be beat. They always seem to have a table available no matter how busy, and the staff is always fun and attentive. For my entrée, I had the crab-stuffed flounder and it did not disappoint--full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The drinks were also really good and well made. My kids ordered burgers they both said the burgers were very tasty with buttered sourdough buns that gave the burger more flavor. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. I ordered the jerk shrimp bowl. The rice in the bowl was plain white rice. l was expecting rice with better flavor for a jerk shrimp bowl. The shrimp was well seasoned. The bowl had mango salsa, tomatoes and plantains more ingredients would have made this a better bowl maybe black beans, avocado, corn it just needed more than bland rice tomatoes, shrimp and salsa. We got a table outside overlooking the beach. We ordered a cosmopolitan and gold margarita. Both were very average. I would not order them again. Wish I could rate negative stars. My food was inedible. The waitress had an attitude. Why put poke bowls on your menu that SPECIFY ON THE MENU "sashimi grade tuna" if you, A) do not have anything remotely close to sashimi grade tuna, B) do not have any dressings/proper toppings to go with the bowl, C) Have workers that are going to act brainless when asked about it. I had two bites of my bowl and seriously could not eat another bite because it was so nauseating. The waitress, short and stout blonde woman, did not ask anything about me not liking it nor did she try to find a resolution for the issue when I made it known. I asked for soy sauce, when she replied "we don't have soy sauce" my mother asked what they make the "soy glaze" with if they have no soy sauce..... the waiter literally did not have an answer and just kind of chuckled and walked off. Located right by the beach, this establishment is a good spot to get seafood right before or after playing in the water. I would say most of the food is good and not amazing, which I am perfectly okay with. All the fried food relied on sauces to help provide flavor, which was a disadvantage because the food itself was not sufficiently seasoned to provide flavor. This included the fried green tomatoes that was slightly seasoned, and some of the seafood items on the captain's platter. On the platter itself, the fish was not seasoned at all, so it needed tartar sauce for flavor. The hush puppies and the crabcakes were great and I could easily eat them by themselves and felt like they tasted good. The shrimp had good size. The dish overall had more fries than seafood which was meh, but I could deal with that since there was a lot of food overall. My partner had the flounder and I tried some. Both of us agreed on that it neede more salt, particularly for the fish and the veggies. The crab tasted great. Having lemon on top of the fish was a positive as lemon always got that special touch for fish dishes as we know. The blue & claw was a special item on the board rather than the menu, and that was the most enjoyable dish we've had. The crab claws were trimmed to make it easy for us to eat, which ended up being the case for sure, and the juice provided really good flavor, making it difficult to eat the claws without trying to coat the juice around it. I even tried dipping some of the fish from the captain's seafood platter to the juice and it turned out great! The cheesecake was excellent as well, especially since it was blueberry and white chocolate, which was already a combination that I didn't see often. There was a good flavor and textural distinction between the crust and the cream cheese portion, which made the dish very enjoyable. Overall I would recommend this place! Husband ordered the fish of the day (triggerfish $28) with roasted potatoes, a shrimp cream sauce and a salad. Neither of us had ever had triggerfish, so we were very pleasantly surprised at the flaky white fish. I had the fried crab claws, which were supposed to be an appetizer, but at $29.99, they were my meal and I ate every one of them without the provided sauces. They were as good as any I remember ever having. And since they are SO hard to find - good ones, that is - it was well worth the price. With husband's Corona, my soda and all the food, lunch as $83.95 before tip. Pricy but something to think about for a monthly trek. Service was super friendly.
