I came here recently and I liked it a lot! Poke bowls can be customized and there are even about a couple canned drinks and juice that are actually from Hawaii. I was unaware the restaurant was in a mini food court and there were multiple other restaurants there. I choose a 2 scoop bowl for $17. I wish there were spicy tuna and spicy salmon options. And I'm not use to crab salad being considered a protein, more like a topping. The bowl I put together was quite delicious and filled with purple rice, salmon, seaweed salad, corn and cucumber. The sauce selection was great. I wish wasabi aoili was available. There also a 25cent fee for sauce to go. I also tried spam masubi for the time. It was really good but unfortunately did not come with any type of dipping sauce. Luckily, I had some at home. The service was great, I may return again. read more

Blowfish is a small shop inside of Bryant Street Market. The market has different style eateries including burgers, boba, dumplings, tacos, a fried chicken spot and even a bar. I am super grateful that they added poke here because it makes it very convenient since there's not really another poke place in NE DC. Things that I loved here included the portion size for the cost I thought was great. The associate working there was kind and I appreciated all of the toppings that they offered. I also love that they have the Hawaiian Sun drinks because they are delicious. What I didn't love as much was the sauce. They lacked good flavor and there weren't many options. I thought the spicy mayo tasted a little weird and the only other topping that I got was sriracha. It was just very basic when I'm used to other poke places having a wide array of sauces. Since the sauce wasn't very good I feel like the bowl didn't properly come together. Also they counted the crab as a fish option instead of a topping :/ I'll come back to Blowfish if I'm really in the mood for poke and didn't want to go very far. read more

If you don't like their Poke all I gotta say is do yourself a favor and just get their Mochinuts! I didn't eat here I bought the mochinut I got cherry and strawberry flavor. SOOOO FLIPPINNN GOOOOD! Flavors are bursting and delicious. Texture is the same as all other mochinuts that yummy chewy flavor. My favorite was the strawberry flavor. read more

You have major problems with quality, consistency and portion control. I have ordered from there via Uber Eats many times, and more times than not, there is a problem with the food that is delivered. You consistently leave out ingredients or send a small bowl when a large bowl is ordered. This is mostly the case if the order doesn't get canceled stating that you can't fulfill the order ... you all do that a lot. There needs to be a 2nd set of eyes on every delivery order that leaves that store. If the Rhode Island Ave store can't perform at a professional level, then you need to make some very drastic changes or shut it down. This is not rocket science, stop being a disappointment to your customers. Definitely not authentic hawaiian food, more americanized. Rice for everything is undercooked, sauce for tonkatsu isn't great, hawaiian fried chicken was good though. Poke bowls were ok, but rice for everything is dry and hard. Definitely not a place for authentic food, kinda pricey but i guess the location has to do with it. As someone who lives in the area and was forever plagued by "nothing goods in walking distance. Should we do McDonald's?!?" I'm estatic about Bryant Streets existence!! My friend had a poke bowl, and I opened my world and my senses to the Furikake (Hawaiian General Tso's). That was phenomenal, the macaroni & broccoli salad needed some flavoring love, but what they lacked the Furikake OVERPROVIDED. For those who don't know this is located inside of the bryantStreet food Hall I got a regular bowl , cost $17 Two scoops of protein which were for me tuna and salmon They have a different type of base called purple rice which I tried and mixed it with regular greens The rice was a bit on the dry side I got all of the toppings except cilantro with a Sriracha sauce list including pineapple edamame cucumber The major issue I have with this place aside from the bland and dry rice was the service. The girl at the counter is clearly overworked and was not pleasant Also beware of the parking situation. I came on a Sunday which means parking in the district is free but the market itself has a lot which is right in front of it and there are signs everywhere that say that they will tell if you don't pay which is monitored by camera. Not wanting to pay and not wanting to take a chance I parked on the street. Think that's a bit ridiculous given where the location is and that this is a shopping area. Whatever the need is for charging for parking negates the fact that people are in and out. I might come back to try out the taco place read more

This place is in a food court with several other restaurant counters. It's a great place to go while you are waiting for you Fever experience or movie to start, meet up with friends, or just be in the AC with wi-fi for awhile to relax and get a snack. There were tables, bar tables, and comfy chairs around little tables. I wanted to try mochi-doughnuts, so we each got a different flavor. They were okay. I can understand the long time for service as they figure it out, but I think the food should've been tested more beforehand. Really love this fast casual at the Bryant Street Food Hall. The food is delicious, filling and well-priced. I love that you can customize your poke bowls. It is also beautifully presented. I had a long day at work and was delighted to find an orchid blossom in my Hawaiian General Tao's chicken this evening. 3.5 stars! Came for dinner on a Friday excited to try a new Poke place. I made my own bowl with salmon and tuna which was overall not bad. I'm not sure they marinade the fish and they dont offer a ton in terms of sauces or extra flavors. The cabbage is huge! Recommend skipping the cabbage otherwise your bowl will feel more like a salad. Definitely recommend the purple rice which has a unique granola-esque flavor to it Ask for extra rice and extra toppings otherwise your bowl will be quite small. The toppings are unlimited! It is definitely not the best poke place in town but what it loses in flavor it makes up for in service! Our server was so kind and friendly and polite! I have a feeling lines here will be long as getting a bowl was on the slower side. Overall I would definitely come back. Decent bowl at a decent price with nice friendly service. read more

At the Bryant Street Market location (on Saturday, Jan 27th), the serving staff at the front had poor hand hygiene practices. She kept the same gloves on to handle the cash register, scratch her skin, handle her personal cell phone, and handle the food. She grabbed the salad greens with her hands instead of using the tongs. I also saw her sneakily go through the motion of raising her hand to touch the box of gloves, so that she could appear to be grabbing new ones. It became more obvious when she did it to pack my second item (when I watched more closely after at first questioning whether I really saw her doing that) that she was faking. I had mercy on the young employee and brought it to her attention, so that she wouldn't do it again. However, she only got defensive about it and lied that she did not do what I saw her do with my own eyes. Blowfish Poke needs to properly train its food handlers in food safety and let go the employees who disrespect it and expose customers to illness. Worse, after I convinced myself to still eat the food and have mercy on the girl, I spent the next 3 days sick. This is a warning to order potential customers to pay attention and be careful here. This is also a request to Blowfish Poke to do better. The food tasted great but isn't safe to eat with the way it is being handled. read more

I'd really question anyone else's review over 2 stars. Let me start with the positive, front counter service was great. Not once during the 25-30min wait for my meal did I feel like it was waiting too long. I'll admit that I usually make sure ai have everything in my order but not always inspect the actual food until I'm ready to eat. My mistake this time, but what would I had asked for once I did see this food? Ask for a refund? I'm not a real food critic, but I know real what real poke and Hawaiian fare. Most of what gets passed for a poke bowl is actually closer to a donburi bowl. In any case, I ordered the loco moco. To be honest, who can really fck that up? Well this place did. First it comes with fries, perhaps to justify the $15 price tag. Then the mac salad was macaroni with butter...no mayo, minced carrots, salt, pepper. None of that. The patty was not even covered with gravy, I mean what the heck is a loco moco without gravy?!? Like a lot of gravy, this sh!t ain't rocket science. Loco moco is street food with accessible ingredients masked as fine dining, but these guys aren't even trying. The spam masubi was mid & a friend ordered the poke bowl...that was mid too. I got the Loco Moco burger. It was super juicy and delicious. The employees were super friendly, especially a guy named Lennon who helped me decide what I wanted to eat. After reading through the reviews, I knew I had to leave one myself. Personally, I cannot believe that this place has so many 1, 2, and 3 star reviews. The food here is amazing. Personally, I am a huge fan of the poke bowls, the spam musubi, and the furikake chicken. The fish for the bowls is always fresh and tasty, as are the rest of the ingredients. In addition to this, my bowls are always packed to the brim! The employees often struggle to close them. The furikake chicken is always amazing as well. The sauce they use for it is great, it really compliments the flavor of the chicken. I always get two sides of cajun fries, which are always amazing as well. Perfectly crispy, and taste amazing with some yum yum sauce or spicy mayo, which I get on the side. And don't even get me started on the mochi donuts. The matcha has become my go to, and they're amazing. Perfectly chewy and they almost melt in your mouth. I would recommend this place to any sushi lovers or Hawaiian food lovers. read more
