Blowfish is a small shop inside of Bryant Street Market. The market has different style eateries including burgers, boba, dumplings, tacos, a fried chicken spot and even a bar. I am super grateful that they added poke here because it makes it very convenient since there's not really another poke place in NE DC. Things that I loved here included the portion size for the cost I thought was great. The associate working there was kind and I appreciated all of the toppings that they offered. I also love that they have the Hawaiian Sun drinks because they are delicious. What I didn't love as much was the sauce. They lacked good flavor and there weren't many options. I thought the spicy mayo tasted a little weird and the only other topping that I got was sriracha. It was just very basic when I'm used to other poke places having a wide array of sauces. Since the sauce wasn't very good I feel like the bowl didn't properly come together. Also they counted the crab as a fish option instead of a topping :/ I'll come back to Blowfish if I'm really in the mood for poke and didn't want to go very far.

This bowl in this picture was supposed to be a large, but there are missing ingredients and the serving is a small.

You have major problems with quality, consistency and portion control. I have ordered from there via Uber Eats many times, and more times than not, there is a problem with the food that is delivered. You consistently leave out ingredients or send a small bowl when a large bowl is ordered. This is mostly the case if the order doesn't get canceled stating that you can't fulfill the order ... you all do that a lot. There needs to be a 2nd set of eyes on every delivery order that leaves that store. If the Rhode Island Ave store can't perform at a professional level, then you need to make some very drastic changes or shut it down. This is not rocket science, stop being a disappointment to your customers. This bowl in this picture was supposed to be a large, but there are missing ingredients and the serving is a small.

If you don't like their Poke all I gotta say is do yourself a favor and just get their Mochinuts! I didn't eat here I bought the mochinut I got cherry and strawberry flavor. SOOOO FLIPPINNN GOOOOD! Flavors are bursting and delicious. Texture is the same as all other mochinuts that yummy chewy flavor. My favorite was the strawberry flavor.

Definitely not authentic hawaiian food, more americanized. Rice for everything is undercooked, sauce for tonkatsu isn't great, hawaiian fried chicken was good though. Poke bowls were ok, but rice for everything is dry and hard. Definitely not a place for authentic food, kinda pricey but i guess the location has to do with it. Located in a food hall, you must get street or garage parking. Will not return

As someone who lives in the area and was forever plagued by "nothing goods in walking distance. Should we do McDonald's?!?" I'm estatic about Bryant Streets existence!! My friend had a poke bowl, and I opened my world and my senses to the Furikake (Hawaiian General Tso's). That was phenomenal, the macaroni & broccoli salad needed some flavoring love, but what they lacked the Furikake OVERPROVIDED. Definitely will return, especially with the thoughtful forward thinking service we received.

Service was not extremely slow. Was hoping to grab a quick bite but took way longer. Food was just average and very salty. The venue is pretty.

Really love this fast casual at the Bryant Street Food Hall. The food is delicious, filling and well-priced. I love that you can customize your poke bowls. It is also beautifully presented. I had a long day at work and was delighted to find an orchid blossom in my Hawaiian General Tao's chicken this evening. I definitely recommend rounding out your meal with the Ube or black sesame Mochi donuts- yum!!!

Located inside the Bryant Street Market, a food hall on the bottom of an apartment building just off the Metropolitan Branch Trail, Blowfish Poke and Grill is the first food stand to open. Their menu is Hawaiian and serve a variety of dishes from poke to spam rolls. I ordered the spam musubi, which comes with two but in halves. It was tasty! To finish, I got the churro donut. The taste and texture were excellent!

Place is new in the area; amazing service and food made me feel like I was back in Hawaii. I loved the food and the presentation!

Our donut was light and fluffy, with a creme infused with real banana. You can tell that they are being thoughtful on their approach to artisanal donuts, and it really shows up in how they elevate this classic dessert. Its rare to find donuts that balance complex flavors, sweetness level, and good crumb but all of those things are what make it distinct fom others, especially chain restaurant donuts. Of course, these are probably made the day of and ours was a large and substantial size. Its definitely a treat-yourself type of moment to commit to the price point, but we weren't disappointed. My take on high‑price‑point food in Union Market is simple: that's exactly where you'll find it. So once you let go of that once you enter, you have a more pleasureable experience by allowing yourself to indulge and try to find the thing that will really fulfill you. And they did that for me. Thank you beautiful ladies who helped me select my donut!

But wow were the rest disappointing (super frustrating bc they look very pretty). All of them felt old and dry, the buttermilk glazed (which tasted like it had citrus glaze icing) and the citrus cake (way dense) were the driest. Chocolate ganache doesn't even taste like chocolate more chemical than anything. Service was extremely slow when all they had to do was place doughnuts in a box -- also seemed like customers were an inconvenience. Overall absolutely go buy other doughnuts. Don't waste your money, product to cost ratio is 1 star.

Best of all, there are mini donuts that are 1/2 of the size of the regular donuts (they have both!). The Classic flavors, mostly cake donuts are in the back while the seasonal yeast donuts and specialty pastries (croissant donut hybrids) are in the display case in the front. The issue is that while the donuts in the front are neatly labeled, the labels are teeny-tiny for the donuts in the back and impossible to read. I wish the labels were larger and there was a large menu for the full list of donuts (instead of the small chalkboard for just seasonal donuts). The super fluffy and moist cake Cider Cake Glazed hit the spot! Even though I prefer warm cider cake donuts, I didn't mind that it was room temperature. I couldn't resist the temptation to save the donut for the kids and noshed on the full donut not even leaving a crumb to spare! Nom nom nom. The seasonal (Sept & March) Brown Sugar Bourbon donut was fun to try. It was topped with delicious maple cinnamon frosting with a custard filling. While I couldn't taste the Bourbon flavor, the donut was tasty. The Mocha Donut filled with Mocha buttercream hit the spot! The seasonal (March) Matcha Latte cake Donut was divine! The seasonal (Oct) Caramel Apple Crumble Donut hit the spot with a maple salted caramel frosting and apple pie filling. I wasn't a fan of the Salted Caramel Cider or the Chocolate Cake donuts. They were a bit dry and after a couple of bites, I threw in the towel on both donuts. I also didn't like the Hazelnut cream donut (not a Nutella or ganache frosting that I expected). The Matcha donut filled with strawberry cream (April special) wasn't that good, the cream was way too sweet. Will come back for the Glazed Cider and seasonal donuts!

I made a same-day reservation on Open Table and was seated immediately. I ordered the scratch soda in guava, as that was the current seasonal flavor. It was delicious!! I'm not sure how homemade soda tastes better than normal soda, but I thoroughly enjoyed the drink especially with the flavoring. I ordered the goat cheese burger that comes with balsamic onion, lemon aioli, and fries on the side. I know goat cheese can be pungent and not palatable to all, but I've had it in burgers before and loved it so I thought I'd try Founding Farmers' rendition. I was actually not a fan. I knew I don't like onions and asked for the balsamic onions on the side, but I think I was most turned off by the lemon aioli layered with finely cut lettuce. I usually don't think I'm a nit-picky person, but I think the aioli made the lettuce soggier. I overall didn't love this burger's composition. Aside from this, the patty was juicy and tasted good with the goat cheese which was the main objective of the burger anyway. All in all, I think Founding Farmers is still a worthwhile restaurant to check out while in DC, but I won't order this particular dish again.
