The pancake special with granola and blueberries

This little place is amazing. We've had the same two waitresses for the last three years. They are awesome We have sat inside where. It's cozy and we've sat outside where you can enjoy the nice sun and breeze. Our dog really likes it. This is the best place on the island to get breakfast it's what keeps us coming back.

We were hesitant at first but everything was amazing!! The vibe is very relaxed. I'm usually not someone that opts for sweets for breakfast, but their chocolate chip pancakes were special! Some of the best pancakes I've ever had!! Also I really appreciated them giving extra hollandaise sauce without me asking. We went back the next morning and split a stack of pancakes

Service was quick and very polite. Ambiance was pleasant. We sat outside and it was very nice. Tables were clean The food was quickly served and hot at that. My wife, daughter, son in-law & myself came here for the first time. We'll come back.

This is a great little place with a laid-back island vibe. I went there for lunch today to work on my book, and it turned out to be the perfect spot! Ann Marie was friendly and fun, and made a tasty (and generous pour) white peach sangria. I loved the Mediterranean Platter, too!

Lunch for 4ppl there on Tuesday. Server Anne Marie. Food great and Anne Marie shear delight- ultra pleasant and attentive. SO professional. Breakfast there today (Saturday) for 4ppl. Server Michelle. Equally delightful- ultra pleasant and attentive. This place REALLY gets it- no matter how busy- which is often and deserved. Manager Paul also pleasant and efficient. Wife and I retired from 80 combined years in hospitality/hotel biz. We know good service!

Today was a busy day and the bistro did not disappoint. My parents and me come here often. I love the puppy attention and bacon when I visit. I tell all my dog friends to come here, because we always get fresh water and lots of attention. My parents love the food too.

I just want to say, after coming here for the past 6 years, it is the best breakfast place in all of Venice. This place, it's service team and the food are all awesome. I love this place for breakfast. And a bonus, they always give me the bacon, bacon, bacon snack .... I think they like me, what a lucky dog am I.

Such a cute place and the food was amazing. Got the Philly cheesesteak , and the jumbo lumb crab cake Benedict. The cheesesteak was the most amazing one I've ever had yet , the only thing I can complain about is I wish the Benedict had more crab.

My wife and I ate at the Blu Island Bistro in April 2025. A location that my wife worked at 30 years prior when it was a different restaurant. We went in sat down and we're promptly greeted by our server. After we looked through the menu, we I decided to order the Whiskey Bourbon Benedict for $16.50 and my wife ordered the Steak and eggs for $16.50 both of which seemed a little overpriced but we still decided to eat there. My Benedict tasted pretty good even though the pork belly bacon was a little overcooked, making it hard to cut. My wife's steak was a little underwhelming, and still gray and little overcooked. We commented to ourselves that it was a new menu item and they still needed to practice a little bit more. We ate and got and paid our bill, noticing that they charged us $2.00 more for the Whiskey Bourbon Benedict and $1.00 more for the Steak and eggs. They never told us or was there a sign or a note on the menu of the price increase. We paid the bill and left without complaining. After thinking about it I felt compelled to write this review to let other diners know what we experienced. That being said, we most likely will not be returning After receiving a reply to my review stating that the extra charge for the food was due to increased egg prices, and is posted on their front door. I noted that when we arrived, the food runner had just propped the door open making it impossible for anyone to read about the increased food prices.

We chose to visit Flapjacks Cafe after seeing the good ratings, unfortunately, we didn't have the…read moresame experience as these other "reviewers." My husband and I both ordered the corned beef hash. I ordered a waffle, and he had pancakes, along with coffee. To start, the coffee was okay, just a little watered down, but acceptable. We then had to wait a good 30 minutes for our food, and once it arrived, we were completely disappointed. The corned beef hash was pretty much inedible. The taste was seriously off, it tasted like old onions, and aside from a crust on top, it was complete mush. We are both corned beef hash fans and have had many plates of it, and this was not how corned beef should be served. Both of our eggs and bread options were fine. My husband's pancakes were undercooked, with what he kept calling "crunchy things" inside them. My waffle was on the same level as one you'd get at a hotel using a waffle maker at a free breakfast buffet. By the end of the meal, my coffee looked so watered down that we were calling it lake water. Now to the restaurant and servers: the restaurant was very hot, so much so that the door was propped open. The server said the AC had just gone out, however, based on how the servers were dressed (shorts and sleeveless tops), it seemed like this was the normal atmosphere for them. While all of the servers were nice to us, one of them was abrasive and somewhat rude to other customers. When someone waiting for a table asked if he could order drinks, she said, "No. If I let you order drinks, I'll have a coffee shop outside." Needless to say, they got in their car and left. Lastly, we didn't complain about anything, paid our $50.00 bill, and left a $10.00 tip, so $60.00 total for a breakfast that probably should have cost about $30.00, which was crazy. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone and would caution people to go elsewhere if asked.

We went there to try the pancakes, are flap jacks and pancakes made different?. Place is small and…read morealmost too uncomfortable. Service was fast food clocked to as we asked. Waitress seemed a little annoyed. Hash browns were soggy and mushy.
