Granted I'm white and I happen to be with the only Latino guy who doesn't move his hips well unless he's uh . . . well you know. I was put off at first because it was part of a strip mall and seemed very small, upon going in it's a bit bigger then expected but still smallish. The have an outdoor patio where people smoke and has a separate bar. I've seen those corona buckets going around, but didn't get one. I did order a few mixed drinks, and they are cheap but not worth it. Of course it was all latino music as can be expected, but the DJ (at least the night we went) knew nothing about transition or how to blend the music. It made dancing awkward at times. Worst experience ever! My group of friends and I got 2 bottles and the waitress led us to our table and when we got to it there was a group girls sitting there and the waitress told them they had to move because the table was already reserved. Clearly it was a miscommunication from the waitress but unfortunately the ladies at the table were too drunk to realize that and took it out on us and throw the bucket full of ice and our 2 bottles that were in it at us. Worse part of it all is that that group of girls were escorted outside and about 5 minutes later we got kicked out as well and as we walked away from the club we see the bouncer allowing the drunk ladies back in! What kind of shit is that?!! Never again will we be going back there worse service ever, security didn't even do anything about the fact that we got the bottles thrown at us!! Music was on point. Wanted some good spanish music selection. They played salsa, cumbia bachata a good variety. We came on a Friday to celebrate a friend's birthday. They have a good drink selection. Just saw Aventura in concert and I'm ready to get down. My friends head over to Blue Agave. I'm thinking great! Some hot latin songs with some boys who know how to dance. WFT! I got robbed. Anyways, so yeah, since moving to San Diego hadn't gone to any clubs, one day i decided to come on Yelp and find some hispanic or straight mexican clubs where they play corridos and duranguense. I found Blue Agave, watched some of their videos, i liked the scene, liked the music, I figured I'd check it out. I went on a Friday, pre-gamed in the parking lot and then went in. Cover was $30 because it was a concert night. (we had no idea) Any who it was pretty fun, they played bachata, techno, reggeaton, and cumbias. Once the band came on we danced for a little but by the time they were done i wanted to leave. See... i wanted MEXICAN music, where you scream your lungs out and get drunk. Instead i got tropical music. Point is this club isn't as bad as most of you are making it out to be. It's aiite... The reason it's gets 3 stars is because I went on a concert night & I didn't get to dance like i wanted to. read more

Some inside secrets are that this place stays open until 4 am. Drinks stop being served at 1:30 am so best bet is to order two at a time every time and store some drinks at a table. If you get here early you'll get the table and can literally drink all night, it's awesome! read more

This is a really random bar/club at the end of a shopping center. There's a huge Samoan bouncer to greet you, then you walk into the top floor where there's tables and the bathroom. The dance floor doesn't get crowded until 11pm, but there's free entrance until 10pm. They play Cumbia, bachata and salsa on Friday nights. The most horrible customer service! Went on a Sunday night after 10:30. The security guards were SO unprofessional and disrespectful. The establishment was maybe 1/3 full so I sat at table that was close to dance floor. I was quickly asked to move if I wasn't going to buy a bottle in the most rudest manner. I went to another table . 20 mins later 2 groups of men drinking only beer went and sat at those tables and were never asked to leave the whole evening. I was at a table where someone had a small altercation and was asked to leave so security comes back to me and my group and tells us we have to leave as well. I explained that we would leave when we were ready. Once we did the security told me good leave and never come back .WTF, who says that to a patron at an establishment that you work for. I immediately went to talk to management to complain. Manager was indifferent, uncourteous and unhelpful in resolving matter. Worst experience I've ever had in an establishment. This bar was worth seeing just once. The demographic is 99% hispanic/latina. It would have been 100% but two white guys were here checking it out (myself and my friend during a night of dive bar hopping and exploring). We heard about this place because on a separate occasion and a different bar my friend was hit on by 3 mexican cougars who told him this is where they hang out. So, we made a note and a promise to ourselves to at least have a peak at some point. This bar is located in a strip mall which makes it seem out of place while you are standing outside being frisked by a security guard. We were approached by more than one person asking what we were doing there (in spanish) I replied with "no se' " which seemed to get a laugh and also seemed to be an acceptable answer. We were the only white guys in the bar, which for the record is completely ok with me. There were lots of perplexed stares wondering who these two guys were. Another yelper said that he was threatened to be shanked here. I would agree that is possible; I could see that happening if you step out of line here. After all we must have been frisked for a reason. Having said that, I didnt really get the feeling I was in danger... not welcome surely, but not really in danger. I had a really good time here, I would say that it was more in spite of this place rather than because of it though. I probably would not go back but thats mainly because you get the feeling they don't want any outsiders. If you are an insider this place would probably be awesome. Almost all the live bands and performers that play here are usually really good. The DJs, however, seem to mix everything they play into an unending medley - so that just when any song starts to get good, they switch it to something else. They also often seem obsessed with shouting over the music for all the single ladies to raise their hands. Friday is now promoted as bachata night - but they often seem to play as much or more salsa, cumbia, merengue, and raggaeton than bachata. In fact, they sometimes may play 3-4 salsa and bachata medlies at 10pm and then no more until almost 1pm. I've been there more than one night when (groups of) ladies left because they got tired of waiting for another salsa, bachata, or cha cha to play. But it can still be a fun place to go. Saturday is now Latin night (featuring mainly a mix of salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia, roack en Espanol); and Sunday now has Banda Nortena and Duranguense. If you go to their website you can sometimes see who's there and what they are doing on the live video feed. The outside patio area tends to be filled with smokers but can still be a good place to go talk or cool off in between dancing. Parking is free and easy to find. Better yet, if you come "early" (which is usually before 10pm), you can almost always get in free - even when there is a well-known performer/band that people coming later have to pay extra to see/hear/dance to (and stay until 4am)! They also offer free hard candy by the door. Overall, the many benefits here outweigh the minor annoyances. read more

We bought tickets through Ticketmaster, which assigned us with seats numbers. Once we got there was a long line to enter. The assigned seats was a LIE. Place was OVERSOLD, The Fire Marshall should have been there and shut the place for safety concerns. We waited for the concert to begin, and finally at 10:30 I asked the DJ when the concert will start and he replied " around midnight". We left at 11:00 pm. The concert was scheduled on the tickets for 8:30 pm. We will never go back to this place, not even for free. Is not worth the money and time to go there.
